The timing of events for this site was very unfortunate. There are two maps (one would be sufficient) for Dave and NAB on gayaffairspattaya. I went to each once, both times with a friend, so I had not to worry how to find it. Now I know how to get there. The soi with Dave Men Club had road constructions (including excavations without barrier) when I was there beginning of July, "lawsuit in wait" I think they would call it in the USA.

Thanks for the link to the Brasilian guys, but there is nothing I like. Brown skin is fine, same as in Thailand. I like Thai (or far-east-asian in general) faces more than faces from everywhere else. And the difference in hair: Thai hair is naturally beautiful, and Thai boy's hairdos are just amazing. European, African, Latin American hair does nothing for me. Facial hair and body hair: Thai boys have little or none, whereas it seem so be difficult to a Brasilian guy with little body hair (actually, it doen't look that bad jugding by the photos on the link). A plus for the Brasilian guys is that those on the link have fewer less tattoos than you see in a Thai gogo bar. Speaking of Brasilian guys: The first men whose body I felt attracted to and whom I saw naked was a half Brasilian half German guy I met when (and showered naked with him) I was in the army in Germany. Alas, long before my coming out, therefore only watching (i.e. a short glimpse, not to attract any attention), no touching (we were not alone in the shower, anyway).

For me, the most important thing in a gogo-bar are the boys. Everyone has different preferences, either they are your type or they aren't. I don't go to a bar because the music level is low or the toilets are clean. Maybe because the drinks are cheaper than elsewhere. I go because I hope to find a boy I like. And you can't rate that.

I can only compare the current situation to January 2010 and August 2009, but there is no denying that this is low season. Plenty of empty tables at Balcony and Telephone. But does anyone have any numbers? Occupation of hotels, number of tourists? Number of drinks sold per night in Boyztown or Sunee or Soi Twilight? Number of boys working in gogo-bars in high season and now? Average time between two offs?

What I wrote above "I don't have the boy's consent for publishing it here" is ambigous. I do not want to say that I asked him and he said no. I want to say that I didn't ask him but from the circumstances of our meeting from what we talked about I assume that he wouldn't object.

I have to watch out more for signs that boys don't understand what I'm saying. I have sometimes problems with their pronunciation, but with time I get used to it. I occasionally ask questions like "Do you like ice-cream or cake?" and get a "Yes" as answer. (Thinking of it, I only once got "No" as answer in all my chats and talks with Thai boys.) Sometimes I have to reword what a boy says to get him to confirm that this is what he wants to say. This reminds me of my time at the army. We had some training and the instructor told us what to do better next time and we had to repeat what he told us. Sounds silly, but it works. As far as I know, there are some Farang that speak Thai well. Do they have the same problems? Or do all these problems disappear when you have a decent command of Thai and talk with the boys in Thai?

Does the "sexy" in "Sexy Thai Boy Contest 2010" imply that he should be at least shirtless? Or is this just my dirty mind? As for tipping, I do as luvthai: If there is a boy I enjoyed watching (and I might off another time), I write down his number on my map (so I know next time which bars I visited and how many and which boys I liked) and tip him 100 Baht on leaving.

Beds at Howards were comfortable and clean. I never had problems to sleep in hotel beds, so my opinion might not be very helpful.
