  1. Yes, these automatic translations can be funny sometimes. On the other hand, there is one boy (whom I met in Pattaya, for well er "business reasons") and who now lives in Bangkok who writes things like: which have a hint of wisdom, and he is only 22!

    Bangkok

It is quite different from the bars in the Silom area. Very few Farangs, loud music (I always use earplugs), and groups of Thai standing around their tables. Best to go with a friend or meet a friend there, else you will stay alone. Nonetheless, I go there at least once every time in in Thailand for holiday. The have the best coyote dancing I have seen in Bangkok. Unfortunately, it's interrupted frequently by messages in Thai, for which they stop the music as well. The area is easily accessible by bus or even by canal boat, the Saen Saeb canal is not far behind (about 100m from ICK), and The Mall Ramkhamhaeng and the pier are diagonally opposite. The surprising thing is, I even met a moneyboy there. I was there alone and chatted up some Thais (their English was ok) when they asked me if I wanted to go with X, who is a moneyboy. Exactly this boy was the cutest among the coyote dancers and I had oogled him a lot on stage. Unfortunately, he asked for 2500 Baht, I was not sure what to reply, during my silence he lowered to 2000 and to 1800. Then he got a phone call which was more important than I, so I left alone (I think 1000 for short time would have been fine). Unfortunately, I have neither his phone number nor gayromeo profile, but maybe his is still there when I come back.
  3. When will we get the results for this and the smile contest?
  4. My first off went the following way. I asked him if he can do long time and offed him. We walked about an hour on walking street and when we were in my hotel room, he sat on my bed and watched TV. I came out of the bathroom and just wanted to slip my hand under his shirt he got this call from mamasan saying that he has to get back home. (I shared this story half a year ago on this forum.) I gave him 500THB and let him go. The closest we ever got was when I put my hand on his knee in the bar.
  5. "4. If we remove one of your posts, we will do our best to let you know ASAP." Set up an automatic notification. I had auctions removed on ebay, I always got an automatic email when this happened.
  6. I once read that when your are travelling by taxi and the taxi has an accident, the best thing to do ist to pay and leave and let the driver deal alone with the accident. This is because by Thai law the customer is guilty. Even if he didn't drive, without customer the taxi wouldn't have had the accident! In your case it was your boyfriend who was driving, it wouldn't be nice to leave him alone with the accident, but it would have made the situation Thai-Thai and not Thai-Farang.
  7. The timing of events for this site was very unfortunate. Expecting it to close down or become appendix to an escort service, I changed to Gaybuttons new board and stayed there (before, this was the board I read and posted most). There are currently five gay Thailand blogs, I check and post on one daily, the others once or twice a week. In my opinion, this 500USD-marathon was a very bad idea, as it created a lot of posts that have nothing to do with Thailand (or if they were about Thailand, there was no new information). I don't know how long it will take until this forum gets back on track (at least until the marathon is over), and even then I ask, maybe 3 or 4 message boards about gay Thailand are enough?
  8. Funny!
  9. I either ask my Thai friend where he wants to go eating or we go to a place where I've been before or we eat at the next place that crosses our way.
  10. Two weeks ago, I started checking airfares from Europe to Bangkok. There is no more doubt: I will be back this winter!
  11. GayThailand, what is "AM"? From context, I assume you mean a.m. (ante meridiem, checking in a dictionary I find it can be abbreviated as a.m., am, A.M., AND AM, didn't know that) and you use AM instead of "morning"?
  12. There are two maps (one would be sufficient) for Dave and NAB on gayaffairspattaya. I went to each once, both times with a friend, so I had not to worry how to find it. Now I know how to get there. The soi with Dave Men Club had road constructions (including excavations without barrier) when I was there beginning of July, "lawsuit in wait" I think they would call it in the USA.
  13. Thanks for the link to the Brasilian guys, but there is nothing I like. Brown skin is fine, same as in Thailand. I like Thai (or far-east-asian in general) faces more than faces from everywhere else. And the difference in hair: Thai hair is naturally beautiful, and Thai boy's hairdos are just amazing. European, African, Latin American hair does nothing for me. Facial hair and body hair: Thai boys have little or none, whereas it seem so be difficult to a Brasilian guy with little body hair (actually, it doen't look that bad jugding by the photos on the link). A plus for the Brasilian guys is that those on the link have fewer less tattoos than you see in a Thai gogo bar. Speaking of Brasilian guys: The first men whose body I felt attracted to and whom I saw naked was a half Brasilian half German guy I met when (and showered naked with him) I was in the army in Germany. Alas, long before my coming out, therefore only watching (i.e. a short glimpse, not to attract any attention), no touching (we were not alone in the shower, anyway).
  14. I follow these two blogs: http://toogaybangkok.blogspot.com/ http://bangkokofthemind.blogspot.com/ This one is now discontinued, as the owner no longer lives in Thailand, but the blog is still online: http://bitchofbangkok.blogspot.com/
  15. For me, the most important thing in a gogo-bar are the boys. Everyone has different preferences, either they are your type or they aren't. I don't go to a bar because the music level is low or the toilets are clean. Maybe because the drinks are cheaper than elsewhere. I go because I hope to find a boy I like. And you can't rate that.
  16. Thank you, dale1, that's what I was looking for! Now the numbers for high season for comparison, please.
  17. I can only compare the current situation to January 2010 and August 2009, but there is no denying that this is low season. Plenty of empty tables at Balcony and Telephone. But does anyone have any numbers? Occupation of hotels, number of tourists? Number of drinks sold per night in Boyztown or Sunee or Soi Twilight? Number of boys working in gogo-bars in high season and now? Average time between two offs?
  18. What I wrote above "I don't have the boy's consent for publishing it here" is ambigous. I do not want to say that I asked him and he said no. I want to say that I didn't ask him but from the circumstances of our meeting from what we talked about I assume that he wouldn't object.
  19. I have to watch out more for signs that boys don't understand what I'm saying. I have sometimes problems with their pronunciation, but with time I get used to it. I occasionally ask questions like "Do you like ice-cream or cake?" and get a "Yes" as answer. (Thinking of it, I only once got "No" as answer in all my chats and talks with Thai boys.) Sometimes I have to reword what a boy says to get him to confirm that this is what he wants to say. This reminds me of my time at the army. We had some training and the instructor told us what to do better next time and we had to repeat what he told us. Sounds silly, but it works. As far as I know, there are some Farang that speak Thai well. Do they have the same problems? Or do all these problems disappear when you have a decent command of Thai and talk with the boys in Thai?
  20. Does the "sexy" in "Sexy Thai Boy Contest 2010" imply that he should be at least shirtless? Or is this just my dirty mind? Although I don't consider this picture very good (maybe it's at least an incentive for others to submit better pictures) and I don't have the boy's consent for publishing it here (well, he works in a bar, that's how he ended up in my hotel room, so it should be no problem) it fits the subject.
  21. When and where is the All Forums Meet and Greet?
  22. Here is your expensive sign without proofreading (near Sunee Plaza on 30.06.2010). Actually, I quite enjoy these mistakes. If you read it aloud, it sounds correct.
  23. The 300 Baht drink price is in (I don't remember the name, I saw the price on a board and asked a mamasan while I was standing in the door looking inside to confirm that it's really 300 Baht and then I left) the first or second bar on the left (when coming from Surawong, so it's either Hotmale or Boys Bangkok), it's upstairs. As for tipping, I do as luvthai: If there is a boy I enjoyed watching (and I might off another time), I write down his number on my map (so I know next time which bars I visited and how many and which boys I liked) and tip him 100 Baht on leaving.
  24. Beds at Howards were comfortable and clean. I never had problems to sleep in hotel beds, so my opinion might not be very helpful. My expectations were: Find a boy in disco or sauna for free or in bar for tip, spend the night AND the next day with him and maybe stay together or move on to the next boy. Until I find one I want to stay with for longer. I know boys are not in time, so I plan delays. But I cannot plan sudden disappearance at 3am, leaving me alone the following day. Or having to get back to room after getting up and having breakfast/lunch together. What is the secret of a successful long-time off AND spending the next day together? Well, I had this with J, but I quickly realized he will go with me anywhere and tell me anything he thinks I want to hear. What I have to offer is long-time tip and full entertainment for the following day at a place of more or less the boy
  25. @ fountainhall: that lady might have a nice looking fur coat, but she can't eat it for dinner (just kidding!) This boy has internet at home (so he told me), but it doesn't make any difference, asking for 3000B is outrageous. Furthermore, he is a dud, so I will move on and meet others. I was initially hesitant about giving money to beggars, but recalling what I read in the internet it's easy not to pay attention to them. The same for touts (yes, there are touts that asked me to buy them a drink).
