I recall that a couple of years ago, or so, you wrote a negative report about sauna Thermas in Barcelona. 

In your report, you said you were not happy with the dress code requirement and that you left the place shortly after your being advised of the sauna dress code.  You said that you were at the sauna only a short time when you departed.  

You also said you did not engage any of the available hustlers in the sauna. 

What happened since your report to change your mind for the positive?

Good for you that you will give that great sauna another chance.

That's my initial intent for giving this place a second try!

It’s a SAUNA.

If you want to remain in your street clothes, there are plenty of restaurants and bars around the corner.

Not that anyone would be looking at you (the clients are there for the working boys and the working boys are there for the money), but if you are truly that uncomfortable being seen by others in a towel, then perhaps it’s just best for you to hire working boys from the ads that will come to your hotel room.

I often travel with one of my good friends who is VERY large (I’m estimating he is in the high 300s at his largest, although lately he has been losing a little). He has no problem putting on a towel (he brings one that is large enough for him, just in case, and then he will take the one given by the sauna to wrap over his shoulders, as he is insecure about his man boobs). He has NO problem with meeting and securing pay dates with working boys. In some or most cases, I believe he is asked to pay more than average, but as I am not privy to the final negotiation, I cannot confirm this. I just know what he has told me he pays is a bit more than what is the norm. That could be attributed to a host of factors other than his size: unskilled negotiation, his willingness to pay more, the acts or time he is requesting, etc.

The point is: when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Wear the appropriate attire in a sauna.

I had noticed several masseurs wearing Calvins instead. I wore my black Polo briefs and it was fine. No issue from management and I was a lot more comfortable. A lot more than trying to keep a 36" towel around a 38" waist. 

To their credit I will say that Patagonya in Zurich has huge attractive towels.

Underwear briefs / boxers and swim trunks are always acceptable wear at saunas or bathhouses.

BTW, I visited Sauna Thermas for about a week in the middle of May, a bit over a month ago, and the front desk always provided two towels: a smaller one that was about the size of a hand towel, and a larger bath towel that would definitely fit someone with a waist at least as large as 40”. My 32” waist had more than enough leftover towel to tuck in, so I’d guess that guys that have about 10 or so more inches of girth around the waist than me could wrap the house towels around their waists.

That being said, nothing is stopping anyone from wearing undies or swim trunks, or wearing their own XXL bath towel or beach towel.

I do remember my first day at Thermas being told I must wear the towel and I did so uncomfortably. But then I noticed two or three masseurs in their Calvins and so I changed into my briefs. The rest of the week went fine. Axiom was probably told the same thing and took them at their word. Maybe they don't tell people that anymore.

I was at Thermas last Sunday between 7-10pm. My first time there - was quite an experience from start to finish.

I was greeted with a surprised look and asked: if I knew that this was a rentboy sauna by a masculaline chap, as I entered the locker room. Downstairs I was approached by a gent who propositioned me as if I was "one of the boys"... so lol

Anyways... there was about 20 working guys there - most were watching the football down by the wet area. Majortiy were muscular.

I sat at the bar and had a drink... I found my type, an early 20ish, cute guy with a swimmers build... said he was from Panama. Had a wonderful hour with him in a private room.

Afterwards, just chilled at the bar having some vodkas and chatted to the barman and a couple of the working guys who spoke english.

Really enjoyed my time at Thermas so have already scheduled my return to Barcelona in the coming weeks!

Flipflop accusations and adaptability aside , I would offer that in Spain there exists two nation-specific online directories with a far greater number of ads (though some commonality among the four sites) compared to RM or PR's Hunqz. They are: telechapero.com and morbototal.com

Naturally, buyer beware, and exercise caution with meetups. Personally, I would stick with Thermas for security, convenience, the donation cost differential at the sauna compensating for the greater selection afforded by site ads. 

I prefer within-reason partial-clothing-optional for practical purposes, but am not body-dysmorphobic. On my more defiant days in nazi-regime sauna brothels I opt for the cum-crusted stiff cover-up solution ...

In trying to find the tatooed muscle Thermas Argentine for the thread I realized there are an enormous number of guys on Hunqz and RentMen in BCN. Sort of the Miami of Europe. Undoubtably too few clients to sustain this number. They stay there because of the continual beach vacation atmosphere.

The only ones I hired out call to my hotel were Thermas guys and they were 100E. But I'll bet others are more eager. Darius Ferydnand was exceptionally eager and he's a major super star. (btw, his social media has a little girl on it....his?? I thought he was a flamer).

I totally agree with you: both on the rate and the considerable eagerness of Darius F. I met him on Grindr and he was very keen to play bottom for an older top.
