One doesn't have freedom to yell "fire" in a crowded theater or to publish kiddie porn. All kinds of private sector entities are kicking Trump to the curb. I'd say it is Trump that is on a slippery slope.

I'd say it is Trump that is on a slippery slope. I agree, but the challenges to freedom of expression are more complicated. I am more in tune with the Europeans. It is a fundamental right that should be regulated, but not by the very companies that right now have a monopoly. The case of Trump & friends is special. Although the lack of a sound regulatory frame is an issue that needs urgent attention, we could not wait for it. The assholes were using their social media to incite violence and spread falsehoods, shutting their accounts down was an urgent need, although not the ideal decision.
