I think it is an international trend. Brazilian sex workers have been using IG as their main outlet for several years, and the same happens in Argentina, the two sex markets I know the best in South America.

I wonder about the USA, though. I stopped hiring there a few years ago so I am unsure whether or not they are moving away from paid websites like Rentmen to focus more in their social media.

I have had some great success with IG guys as well, a couple were freelance working guys and a few are just normal guys that didn't want any money.

I will say it can be difficult to get a conversation going with some, they get hundreds of messages from guys wasting their time, so getting a conversation started and then working out if offering money will offend them or not can take some time. I find Grindr and Onlyfans can be much easier, but some of the cute guys on IG I have on my radar don't seem to be on Grindr so I just have to shoot my shot there.

It's a very different game for non-working guys on IG though, you need to approach it like dating sometimes, and trying to line things up is much better if you're already in their city. Bombarding them with love messages from afar and trying to get nudes from them is 90% of their inbox, standing out from that crowd to get a connection or replies can be hard work at times.

The difference between Instagram and OnlyFan: IG is free, OF is subscription only.  I just don't see the point of paying OF subscription to guys just to be able to follow them and keep telling them they are gorgeous, without knowing if you can hire them.

OK, I'm convinced. But the last time I tried to download Insta, it went into my contacts list and notified everyone there that I now (then) had an account. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

Not sure on Android, but right now, no app on an Iphone can access your contacts unless you explicitly give that app access to them.

You have to read all the messages, though, one by one, carefully and I always say no to everything: location tracking, internet activity tracking, contact access, camera access, microphone access, etc. unless I need that app to access one of these features.

Also, don't give the app your phone number, just an email address which you have opened just for this sort of trash use.

Instagram is just posers. Some of the Chaturbate boys use it, that's the only reason to try contact boys there. Was nice for me when I was in central America
Find the boys with a naughty twitter account. I have maybe 18-20 boys from Jomtien/Pattaya that I follow on Twitter. It's fantastic.
