Location is important

Featured Replies

If you want to get guys off the apps at  reasonable prices plan where you want to stay either in Airbnb or hotel

I stayed in both last week and both have advantages & disadvantages.

I stayed in the Unicca Airbnb apartments building near Big C and despite thinking it was a long way I got so many offers from guys during the day who were all less than a km away

The only disadvantages are no one checks the boys ID in a Airbnb and of course your more I guess u maybe not safe if you don't know them

I stayed in the zing hotel and some guys said to me they were "discreet" and didn't want to go to a hotel reception to show ID they said apartment only

Location is important,It's no use getting a hotel or Airbnb.  at nNaklua or even that floating market area down in Jomtien that's a long way for someone to go

Speaking of the apps, I've noticed more and more straight or married or "discreet" guys on the apps these days (compared to a year ago when I was last here). Some are deep in the closet. More Middle Eastern guys also who want to play. More Indians too. Bangladeshis and way more Africans (many from Madagascar) than ever before. Fewer and fewer Thai guys, the ones who remain are almost exclusively from rural Isaan. Definitely more Myanmar guys too. In summary, interestingly, the scene today looks more like the United Nations than a map of Thailand.

Yes me too, particularly moneyboys from Africa

The term."moneyboy" or MB also was never used ,mind you we didn't have Grindr 20 years ago

You are right OD, the term "MB" seems to be a rather new euphemism. These days the apps make it easier to spot MBs from "non-MBs", thank goodness. I have to admit more than once assuming an app profile was a MB when I then had to sheepishly apologize to him for making that assumption. Now it seems the lines are more clear cut.

The suggestion of Thaifriendly is a good one.  The number of active mb’s, of interest to us gays, at any time is small, but it’s easy to use and make contact, and it helps if you have Line or WhatsApp. Boys are greatly outnumbered  by sections which are restricted to females and ladyboys.

I find it's a useful tool to cross reference against Grindr, clarity of their name, plus alternative photos.
