Mentioned this earlier in a previous thread...I will be in Bangkok October 16-24...if anyone is around during that time and wants to meet for a drink, dinner, club visit...would be nice to connect with some other forum members while there.

Think I would prefer to off someone from the clubs who identifies either as bi or gay.  I am not sure someone who is straight but 'gay for pay' would provide the intimacy I am looking for regardless of role (T/B).  Maybe I am wrong about that...just my perception.

never lose hope. Mamasans should be able to direct you to proper guy although I'd start with making sure guy pays attention to you first and inquire about his preferences later. No sense offing somebody who works overtime to avoid you eyesight , no matter how impressive he is in the looks department.

This raises the issue, again, of what is meant by 'straight' or 'gay'. This has been discussed extensively on this forum. There are many instances of reports by members of great sex, top and bottom, with guys who are married with children. Some long term arrangements,  as well.

I think I notice that sexuality can a bit more fluid over there and there isn't so much hang-ups regarding gay and straight as there is in western countries. Or something like that anyway.

It's fluid in as far as the money flows from your wallet and even then there are limits.

Personally, I wouldn't make assumptions about the sexual norms of Thai society - as broad and as varied as it may be - based on what one sees or experiences in the commercial sex industry.

agree although very fact that such industry  exists and thrives to extend it does is in my opinion telling a lot. Nobody heard about go-go bars in Saudi Arabia  and hardly sex tourists go to Mauritania

Well, among other things, they are symptoms of the country's economic health, external cultural influences, legacy of slavery, patronage and servitude, the deeply uneven distribution of income among various segments of society, historical demand created by foreign military servicemen during their R&R, lack of access to meaningful educational opportunities and therefore, social mobility.

Years ago (decades, actually), I was a frequent visitor to gay saunas in Bangkok with mostly blue collar local Thai clientele. It wasn't uncommon to meet up with Thai guys who liked girls but were after some easy and inexpensive fun at the saunas. These were not gay guys looking to get away from their wives and children. I liked getting to know these straight guys and  learning how they end up in gay saunas. Most often their responses focused on being tired of women and their constant demands and nagging  - เบื่อผู้หญิง
