How absolutely dreadful! Desperately sad even though he had reached the age of 84 especially for the manner of his tragic death. It's not jjust the Pattaya gay community who have lost a voice and a dear friend, it is Thailand. He is virtually irreplaceable. May he rest in eternal peace.

You might also consider wearing a luminous armband or a flashing bracelet when walking in the dark especially if you're wearing dark coloured clothes.

Yes, agreed, but doesn’t work if driver is drunk, or stoned, which seems quite likely.

area where accident happen, right where Jomtien bus station is,  is particularly dangerous to cross the road for two reasons :

- manoeuvring busses often partially obstruct view for both drivers and pedestrians

- there long stretch of road without intersection so vehicles are moving at speed.
