It’s the end of my month in Italy and I am ready to return home.

It’s been a lot of fun with many adventures, and many men - more than I thought I’d meet, thanks mostly to Reggio Calabria.

As soon as my ferry from Sicily got within range, guys started hitting me up again. Most of them were not my type, and one, who was very hot, wanted a regalo - 100 euros. I seriously considered it, but I hadn’t had good experiences in Catania, and still had many free offers to consider.

I was hoping to have second (or in some cases, third or fourth) rounds with some of the hotter guys I’d met, so I also messaged them and told them I was leaving on Monday.

One came through immediately - a sort of nerdy looking guy who turns into a total babe once he takes off his clothes and glasses. He has a really big fat dick, is super hairy, and you can see traces of Greek and Arab ancestry in his face. He is also a very intelligent and really nice guy, and I enjoyed talking to him after he came too quickly again (and then a second time). And then he put on his clothes and glasses and returned to this nerdy guy and left.

Tomorrow I am hoping to see my hot Argentine neighbor. He said he wants to see me once more before I leave. I was hoping for second rounds with one or both of the hot 20-somethings I met.

I was thinking as I was walking home that all of the guys I met had approached me first. I hadn’t reached otu to any of them (a few guys I did reach out to either didn’t respond or didn’t work out).

Reggio turned out to be the perfect place for me to base myself. It is conveniently located to visit Sicily, and was also easy to get to Napoli from here. I hadn’t reached hoped I’d see more of Calabria, but the infrastructure here is not that good and I decided against a car. But it’s a very sweet place, and Italian life is on full display - I joined in the passegiata almost every evening just to get out and also to get a gelato after dinner (I usually ate at home because I prefer an early dinner than what they offer here).

If anyone is looking for a nice place to visit in Italy that is off the beaten path, definitely check out Reggio di Calabria. A week is probably enough to see everything, but a longer stay will be just as rewarding if you are looking to just enjoy Italian life without huge crowds of tourists. The people are very kind and friendly, there are a lot of good restaurants, a few interesting museums, and the views are just stunning across the Strait of Messina to Sicily. And, since you’ll be a new face with very little competition, you can probably expect to meet some very hot guys on Grindr.

My Argentine neighbor stopped by for one final visit. Every time he has come back I say to him "I forgot how big it was" and he laughs. Funny that the sexiest Italian I met was from Argentina. 

A guy in Rome airport wanted me to meet him in the bathroom and I was tempted until he told me he didn't have any photos. That's usually not a good sign.

Back in California and it feels good to be home for now. 

I cannot repeat often enough how much I loved Reggio di Calabria. If you are looking for an off the beaten path location in Italy with a stunning location, lots of restaurants, great food, friendly locals, definitely check it out. 35 minutes by ferry to Sicily and connected by train to some other beautiful towns in Calabria. Calabria has still not been discovered by the throngs who invade just about every other part of Italy, but it is as beautiful or possibly more beautiful than any other place I've been, especially in terms of the natural environment.

And, as I have said numerous times, you'll be a hit on Grindr because you're a new face. I'm a 65-year-old oral bottom, and I had a lot of action. Tops would find even more and I think younger guys might have even better luck than I did. There definitely are a lot of Italian guys with daddy fetishes, but I think they're looking for top daddies. So if you are a top daddy, book your flight now.

Weather in October was perfect. A few days of rain, a few overcast days, but mostly sunny and pleasant.
