Members unicorn Posted 3 hours ago Members Posted 3 hours ago I've been following this model, turned comedian, for years. He lives nearby, and I've long had the hots for him (he identifies as straight, by the way). Once on Facebook (I think it was about 6 years ago), he even made a post saying he'd be open to marrying a gay man, even though he's not gay, so he could get permanent residence in the US. I sent him a private message, encouraging him to take down that post, since if Immigration Services (BCIS) ever found it out, he could be arrested and deported for immigration fraud. In fact, he's recently married an American woman. A few years ago, I went to these tiny theaters with 20 seats, in which he did comedy performances to small audiences. At the time, it was mostly viewed by gay men such as myself (and my husband). A year ago, we saw him a couple of times as one of the comedians in the lineup of The Comey Store, a comedy club about 2 km from our place. Then, about a week ago, we saw him a solo performance from a world tour, which he did at the Pasadena Ice House. What absolutely floored me is that he asked the audience who the gay men were in the audience, and my husband and I were the only ones to respond! What a trajectory! I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he did a show in front of over 100 people, and we were the only gay audience. Interestingly, he's open about being mostly asexual. https://www.marioadrion.com/ Vessey 1 Quote
PeterRS Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Not quite the same. Decades ago I once met a young man at a party. He was cute and said he was a singer. I checked and found that he was on the 2nd or 3rd rung of success. I invited him for dinner one evening, he came and then we repaired to my apartment. He came round a few times after that but the chemistry was not great. Many years later after he had become one of Hong Kong's top stars, I bumped into him near the city centre. I was surprised he recognised me, but we chatted and then went to a coffee shop. I knew by that stage that he had come 'out' as gay but still had a very lage following. But that was the last time I saw him in Hong Kong. I did once, though, see him when he was part of the entertainment at the end of the Taipei Gay Pride Parade. Quote
