"Daniel Naroditsky's cause of death has been revealed months after the chess grandmaster and commentator died at age 29. The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirms to PEOPLE that Naroditsky's toxicology report showed that he had taken a mix of drugs prior to his death, including substances such as methamphetamine and amphetamine. Traces of 7-hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine were also discovered in Naroditsky's system, both of which are known to be common ingredients in the opioid-like drug kratom. The late YouTuber died from "accidental poisoning after ingesting a drug cocktail," the medical examiner's office confirms to PEOPLE...".

I don't object to most drugs in theory, but I wouldn't buy any anymore. I do pot only from licensed dispensaries.  There are too many that have been adulterated with Fentanyl with potentially fatal consequences.

Street drugs have always been adulterated.  They don’t have rigid quality control like Eli Lilly.

I thank my lucky stars that I never took up smoking cigarettes or taking drugs. I did, though, try to inhale a marijuana cigarette at a party in Marrakesh in the 1970s. On a solo holiday to Morocco, I had met up with some other British people my age who invited me to a party in their hotel room. Hash was being handed around. In order to blend in, as it were, when one was handed to me, I tried it. I managed two short puffs before coughing almost uncontrollably. I noticed no effect and the guy I fancied at the party clearly was straight. So I left earlyish. But the next morning I realised that for the first - and the only - time in my life, my dreams had been in colour. Strange sensation.

Same here.  When I was in college, I had one professor who smoked a pipe.  I thought that was really cool and decided I want to try smoking one, too.  Had never tried smoking before.  Sat around one afternoon at school with a group of friends, had purchase a pipe and some cherry tobacco, lit up and started smoking away...not have the first idea what I was doing.  Inhaled so much that I became physically ill and was in bed for like two days.  That convinced me there and then to never try smoking anything ever again.  Lesson learned.  Never had any desire to try any type of drugs.

While technically correct, one should also read the background of this story to get an idea what might or might not have led to this sad end ...

Thanks. I looked him up in Wikipedia, and I assume you're talking about: "Late in his career, Naroditsky was one of many prominent chess players who were the target of unsubstantiated cheating accusations by Vladimir Kramnik. Kramnik's allegations were condemned by many other professional chess players and prompted FIDE to open an ethics investigation against him...". Even unsubstantiated accusations can wreck havoc on a person. Accusations are so easy to make, and often difficult to disprove.

Same here, rather lucky. There is alcohol, but I can cope with having a drink!

It is unusual to only dream in black and white.
