Noticed FREE Hit swab kits on Grindr. Ordered TWO to take to Thailand since I have already been tested.

Going to throw out the big case they come in and just bring the thumb drive sized tests.

Results in 20 minutes. You're supposed to agree to contact the health department if yours turns out positive.

I tried my zip codes in Boston, said not available for free there, I put a Los Angeles one and it would ship there.... but  I don't have an address In L.A., I wonder what other cities they do send to....

1. Go directly to the national portal: Open the Together TakeMeHome Portal.
2. Select HIV Self-Test only: If the site gives you an option between an "HIV Test" and a "Complete STI Panel/Lab Kit," choose the HIV Self-Test. The national program covers this completely for all Massachusetts residents.

Which country are you referring to?
HIV tests cost only about 220 Baht at the Red Cross in Bangkok (near Silom).
Result in one hour. You can wait or have them email the results to you.
The friendliest of people there.

Apologies for the typo on the address- I had just readjusted the brightness on my computer to prevent more eyestrain.

Country id USA. 

Personally I was planning on bringing three swabs to NighBoys in  Pattaya and use/donate them. 

Prevents the hassle of dragging boy to clinic and testing- test him right in the bar while having a drink!

 

I'd still. like to do the STI panel/Lab test myself- Thanks FloridaRob

Is it still the case that HIV tests reflect the status from three months ago rather than the status on the day of the test?

Is pre and/or post-exposure prophylaxis not available in other countries? I can't understand why people contract HIV these days. Even in the case of rape, one can still take post-exposure prophylaxis. 🤔

Apparently condoms are a non-existent afterthought. 

Should someone get sick/die, it is covered up and blamed on TB.

Was talking with a (str8?) 22 yo USA coworker trying to shame sex me- he supposedly knew nothing about prep, etc.

"tell me all the diseases you have caught". Stupid  low IQ social worker

 

If I had brought an HIV test  with me on a previous trip in 2019, I would not be missing a precious friend from NighBoys now.

He could have gotten treatment sooner.

Lucky I stayed safe with him. except my heart...

I don' thing testing in the bar for HIV would be a good idea as the results would quickly spread  among the other boys which, in the case of HIV, would be  more than an embarrassment  to the test subject.

I don't understand how HIV antibody tests prevent transmission in.such a setting. In fact, the first few weeks after infection (before the antibodies appear) is when an HIV-infected person is the most contagious. If you engage in risky behavior (especially anal sex), you must practice universal precautions (preferably PrEP and condoms, or at least PEP, or at a very minimum a condom alone). HIV testing your partner won't help you. Those who have HIV and are under effective treatment will have HIV antibodies but be undetectable, and therefore not contagious.

If he had been detected earlier, he would have gotten treatment earlier and would be still alive.

He wasn't detected until 5 months later.
