fitboynyc Posted June 5 Posted June 5 There is a forum for reviews of gay bars, clubs, escorts, etc., in Argentina called foropirata.com I've tried to access it recently - and it doesn't load. Does anyone know if it still exists? Quote

Does anyone know if it still exists? It stopped opening about a month ago or so - dead for now. It was an awesome forum with honest reviews for all escorts in Argentina Quote
bkkmfj2648 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 The Wayback Machine is reporting that there was no further activity for ForoPirata.com after 28 April 2026 From the below screen shot gathered by the webcrawler the look and feel of the ForoPirata.com is similar to our gayguides.com forum - as in the blog/chat technology that was used. fitboynyc Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 Thanks for the input. Hopefully it will come back online. Quote
Members Latbear4blk Posted June 12 Members Posted June 12 I just remembered something that happened some time before I was banned. They used to have a cool moderator, who would apply the rules with smart flexibility and keep a quiet civil culture. That moderator shared in a thread that the foro may be in risk of vanishing because no one was paying for the hosting service. Apparently, as the forum was born from a division inside a society (foroescrots.com), they were living from the hosting time that had been originally purchased, but it was soon to expire. By the way, besides the software similarity that @bkkmfj2648 points out (a very common one, Invision is a very popular platform for discussion forums) this one is another similarity with Gayguides. They also come from a broken partnership. A few months after he shared that information, he was suspended and a new guy took over the moderation. We were not informed about the reasons for his suspension, only that he had broke the rules. A few months after the new moderation took over, I was banned. Quote

Thanks for sharing this information with us @Latbear4blk. This is also my fear for our Gayguides.com forum - in that one day it just vanishes for whatever reason. Currently, we are ALL very lucky that we have @TotallyOz who is our current benefactor and keeps Gayguides going. I am truly grateful. Over the years, many forums and websites that I was very fond of have disappeared over the years due to the server that was hosting those sites not being paid for anymore. 90% of the time it was not out of maliciousness - its just that the founders of these said sites just lost interest or passed on in life and there was no well thought out succession plan. Often in this forum, we often discuss regrets about certain bars, saunas, and accommodations that no longer exist - but what would happen if gayguides one day ceased to exist? Who would hear our stories? swissmale, tm_nyc, fedssocr and 1 other 4 Quote

Who would hear our stories? I really feel this now that Datalounge has also announced it's closing up shop at the end of July, 30 years of history and gossip down the drain. So much celeb gossip you couldn't dare say on other sites without an instant ban. But on DL folks were free to share insider topics and so many other wonderful conversations or random threads. The internet is shrinking and privacy is already a figment of our imagination. I hope Gayguides survives. bkkmfj2648 1 Quote
