I've been once - nice carnival-like fiestas in the old town. not the size of the carnival though. I like sao luis, even though it's clearly getting in a worse shape rapidly Quote

Any gay action venues? the sauna in Sao Lius is very good and lively, much better than other northeast cities. You can find its name in other posts. It usually have 10-ish boys working there. The quality is better than Fortaleza, Recife etc. The old Sao Luis city center is a world heritage cite, but some parts needs more care. It is not suitable for tourists after dark, Uber only.
