Thx (-: The cremation ceremony of HM Queen Sirikit, the late Queen Mother is tentatively slated for the end of October. I don't think the date has been announced yet. The evening before the funeral and the day itself may be no-alcohol days but we'll only know for sure closer to the event. Expect major roads to be closed for rehearsals and the actual cortege on those two days. Security will be tight. jamiebee 1 Quote

So; reading this I make the assumption that no date for the service can been set yet, as they will only announce it after the crematorium is finished which will be October 31... Right? I never heard of a Tibetan sky burial. The only open air one I know is that of the Zoroastrians. Since that religion was founded in Persia, it used to be quite common. But now it is banned and those who wish their loved ones' bodies to be eaten by the vultures and buzzards have to send the bodies to Mumbai. I'm sure you'll remember from your trip that outside the city of Yazd there are what are termed the Towers of Silence where bodies used to be placed. This is one. Quote
