chained to the mortgage for 30 years

VS paying an unknown amount of rent for a lifetime?

I like Allianz because they offer an annual plan as well as per trip

I think they have a maximum number or days a trip could be for coverage, during that time..30-60 days...something like that, it doesn't cover an entire year abroad.

I can imagine a niche market for "fun" with someone in a leg cast and an arm in a sling, though bleeding wounds might not command much market value.

Don't give @Olddaddy any ideas, he'll go to running across the busy street instead  of taking a Grab now 😲

No, as long as there are apartments for rent. Who says one must live in his own house ? That's another AngloSaxon obsession, live in owned accommodation with side dish of being chained to the mortgage for 30 years

……and by mid 50’s at the end of the mortgage live rent free in your own property and be able to travel business class and stay in 5* hotels and attract handsome locals for free sex.  Perhaps better than the Auntie Vin model of renting apartment, flying economy and staying in cheap hotels and renting cock.

Correct.  I did not mean to imply it would cover one trip abroad that would last one year.  There is a restriction on the number of days per trip.  This would just be good for someone who travels extensively on multiple trips during the span of one year.

Make sure you book room with access to executive / club lounge

By the time I arrange all of this and then pay for it ....it would be bloody quicker and cheaper to go on Grindr and get a moneyboy !

Here’s some advice:

Stay in 5 star well away from Silom (many well educated and wealthier gay Thais do not want be seen in Silom area)

Make sure you book room with access to executive / club lounge

Refer to 5 star hotel on Grindr / Hornet profile and make reference to lounge “join me in executive lounge”

You will be inundated with applicants in 20’s and 30’s so need to do some careful sifting to pick the best.  They love to post pics on social media in the lounge - that’s the attraction.  After a few free drinks they will be asking to see your room.  Weekends and evenings after they have finished their office jobs are peak times.

But...I'm staying in 5 or 6 star ... The Capella in Bangkok so maybe worth a try

Hi Rob,

The Allianz annual "Premier" plan (the intermediate-level plan) has a maximum trip length of 90 days. Not sure if that means one must return to one's home country every 90 days or whether one could go on to start a new "trip" to a third country for another 90 days and then (presumably) be able to return to Thailand for another 90 days. Not sure how it works, but you are right it definitely does not cover you if you plan to spend "a year" in Thailand.

Aloha,
Marc

I don't rent as I employed in its time old wisdom " buy when everybody is selling".

Being not short of self esteem on don't need 5 * hotels as ego boosters

I like this idea though 👍👍

Coincidentally- sorry, I'm joining this thread late- have any  posters who have reached eighty in the UK  found the sudden rise in the cost of premiums astonishingly large? For my thirty years of travel to Thailand, my insurance has been covered by my bank card which provides insurance through a large UK company. When I reach eighty- alas, not too far in the future- I find that it will cost me over £1000 a year for the same cover for my three trips, despite being in the flower of youth, health- wise. Well, almost.

Out of interest have you ever actually sat down and read the T&C's on your bank insurance coverage.  I was given it once with my card and on reading it it was almost worthless, absolute bare minimum coverage amounts for things and most of the areas I choose to pay a bit extra for on my usual policies weren't off course on there too so I didn't bother taken them up on it and stuck with my own insurer.  This just in case you're ever caught out and THINK you're well and fully covered using the bank card insurance when that not not actually be the case !

Perhaps dried flowers command a premium? 🤷

My bank arranges the cover through my credit card but the insurance is placed with either Zurich Insurance or Allianz and these companies provide the policies. And yes I have read the detail and am happy with it - so far!

Is that the annual policy ?

Or you mean it divided by 3

So that's $2000 AUD ,

I wonder what the Australian equivalent is ?

Might want to review it again, we've witnessed your proofreading skills .... they aren't as good as you think 🧐

Haha! You equate proofreading posts usually made in haste for a chat room with what could be a matter of life and a serious illness or death. Silly!

Ah, so now the posts are “usually made in haste.”😲

That’s a rather different standard from the careful proofreading you were so proud of a few posts ago 🧐

Funny how quickly the quality-control policy changes when the error is yours 🤷‍♂️

No wonder the crow flew off and @Olddaddy hasn't been back  Maybe they were the real proofreaders. 😝

You can argue all you want, but I referred to posts made generally by quite a few members. You direct your comments at me on the basis of one or at most two posts. Fine, since you clearly like to track posts (as indeed I do!). But constantly to refer back in your childish way is just boring. Enjoy your little games as you do with other posters..

Interesting. When you repeatedly point out other members’ minor errors, misquotes or even tagging the wrong person, it’s apparently just maintaining standards, like we have any 😲

When someone remembers your own words and turn the tables on you, suddenly it becomes “childish,” “boring” and a “little game.”.... which I'm game for all three, at times.

That distinction seems remarkably dependent on which side of the correction you happen to be on....were you an only child 🧒

And really, as a community we’re only looking out for you, I'm not alone in asking you about your travel insurance selection....If you ever do have to make a claim, we’d hate for your confidence that you’d “carefully read” the policy to meet some inconvenient bit of fine print that received the same quality control as those posts now apparently written “in haste.” I've been down that road and then it's too late to collect for something that you thought was covered

Insurance companies are hardly famous for looking for reasons to pay more than they have to, and some exclusions, definitions and conditions seem almost designed to require a lawyer... I’d give that advice to anyone here, even @Keithambrose, and he’s an attorney, so he says 😝. He probably knows better than any of us what can be buried in the fine print.

That’s probably the one place where being absolutely certain you read something correctly really does matter.....

And don’t flatter yourself, I’m not “tracking” you. Half the time I can barely remember what country I was in last month. Some performances are simply memorable, overly longwinded, but memorable :hot:

Bit of a mistake there - not checked, perhaps? And you expect me to believe what you wrote. Pull the other one!

So why you bother going on and on about such a small issue when you are so busy with your travelling seems more than odd. As one who also loves travel, I am sure you really enjoy it. Great! But what have "performances" to do with posts? Or does that somehow refer to travel experiences?
