2 people died in my hotel swimming pool- ever worry about this stuff while traveling?

Featured Replies

I was in the elevator going to the lobby and a mother with 2 children got on and I said I bet you're going to the pool, they were in swimsuits. Then a German guy already in the elevator said pool was closed, he was clearly very shaken. He said someone died the night before, a colleague if his and another person, they got electrocuted 😳

I hope that heads will roll (i.e. prison time for manslaughter) for this, and that Conrad/Hilton will have to pay out survivors big-time! Was this a saltwater pool? I suppose that even freshwater pools have enough chlorine to conduct electricity... This would be the first I've heard of electrocutions in a freshwater pool. One wonders why they didn't just shut off the electricity to the pool (lighting, pumping systems, etc.).
