The problem is, in Perth there's 1 sauna and 1 gay club - and that's the scene afaik. I don't know of any gay community as such.
There are lots of private parties, and I've been to a couple.
Tbh, if I were a gay sailor looking for a hook-up, I wouldn't know where to look.
If I were after sex with a sailor, I guess I'd be down at the wharf waving a 'Hello sailor' banner!

I hate to break the stereotype, but even in Japan young people do not stand up for the elderly, even if they are sitting in seats which are clearly designated for the elderly, disabled, etc.
They just look down at their phones and pretend they don't see you.
The only people who ever offer me a seat - either a normal one or a designated one- are foreign tourists!
I always politely decline, as I'm fully able to stand.

A lot of it depends on where you are. I was shocked at the behavior of Chinese youth, especially in the subways of Beijing and Shanghai. Young adults would run in front of the elderly to get seats. In one instance, which I'll probably remember as long as I live, I saw two young Chinese men actually shove an old lady aside to get to a seat first! In all of my years and all the countries I've visited--and that's quite a few--I've never seen anything like this. I had thought that Chinese tradition was to respect elders, though from what I witnessed, that probably only applies to elders in their own families.

I witnessed something similar in Taiwan on my first visit there with my ex back in 2004.  At that time the MRT was very limited and most of it was still under construction, so this was actually people waiting for the bus.  Never experienced anything quite like it, nor have I forgotten it.

With my 2 'friends' - but not at the same time.
I must admit, people have often asked me why my right arm is so much bigger than my left.
They assume I'm a regular tennis player.

Since you were so insistent on meeting him, I initially wondered why people do this. Are they blind?

You told him you’re a doctor, so I figured you had this in the bag.... maybe if you were a plastic surgeon to the stars, might've hit the right nerve 😁

We're visiting Romania, passed by this bank, and my husband mused "Is that a blood bank?".

That other website used to be completely whack-o about it also. I don't know if they still are (haven't participated in years). I once posted a picture of a shirtless hunk, and got banned for a month because his clothed minor son was also in the photo (which I picked up on the hunk's own Facebook page). I'm not sure it's just a western thing. I remember reading a sign in what I seem to remember being in a southeastern Asian country. The sign stated that under no circumstances were children allowed in any photo which foreigners took (obviously directed at foreigners, since written in English). Wokeness can go overboard, as in this instance.
Of course, sometimes wokeness is called for. It's difficult to believe some people at Target thought this was a good idea:
"Target’s costume cleared design, approval, photography and publication before social media pointed out the racist imagery, meaning the cultural review apparently began after the product went viral."

Dolly Parton, who had been struggling with poor health for sometime, has died. She was 80-years-old.
We will always love you, Dolly. Rest in peace. ❤️🕊

Then by all means keep running the obsessive forensic image analysis and playing the aggrieved society-page correspondent, while next scouring WEHO florist businesses for evidence the hydrangeas are a rental. As, if opportunity favours you, Uni will introduce a new thread on end-of-season poolside entertaining and help you freshen up a razzing act that’s getting a tad tired.
May you roast in piece and not belly flop. 😏
