I don't read the blog often, but I have to agree with KhorTose. Some of it is interesting, some quite eye-opening and it is well-written - whether or not you like the content. As have many others, I've been singled out for some of the blogger's nasty comment, at least once wrongly in that comments actually referred to another poster. But there's nothing I can do about it other than not read it. I accept, though, that he probably has quite a big readership. Anyone who singles out Beachlover and LMTU for his 'Turtle Ass' awards deserves some recognition. 

The virus alert warning has returned. What I find remarkable is there is so much disparity among users about these problems. Now I can't even send PMs. None of the editor tools work, either.

I was talking about the content. If the content is lacking, the rest of it is sorely lacking.

Took a look at the mentioned blog and I tend to agree with Khortose's analysis of the content.  Extremely well written and occasionally witty. 

 

But, since he's obviously invited the analysis in return, I at least wonder about the motivation for the extensive blogging and generally negative content. First, as he obviously spends a whole lot of time writing his articles and keeping track of all the various boards and posters, one wonders if he has much of a real life beyond that.  Second, for whatever reason, he obviously gets a vicarious and very personal thrill out of putting other people down - a task made much easier for the self-appointed "brave" when done behind a keyboard and the anonymity of the internet. 

 

If it gives him an outlet for all those petty irritations he feels, probably fairly healthy for him; however, as to why he personally has those particular concerns let alone the desire to make sure that some part of the world knows about them, you'd have to ask Freud.  In a sense, the blogger reminds me of William F. Buckley in that, if you strip away the excellent writing style and clever vocabulary, what you have left really seems to be rather petty and juvenile.

 

P.S. As of 22.00 Thai time today (January 3rd), I'm no longer getting the Norton mentioned warnings.

I gave up reading his blog a couple of years ago.  Too boring & negative about almost everything.

I can tell you exactly what happened.  Invision Board has a software issue that allowed for malicious script to be injected into the forums. They required a patch in order to stop this.  The patch was applied within 12 hours. But, some malicious scripts were already injected.

These scripts were cleaned up and removed.  Google is the one that reports to most of the software companies that deal with viruses and maleware.  There is an area in Google's Webmaster Tools area for webmasters that allows for a site that is designated dangerous to be reviewed.  This site was placed on the list. The hosting company and programmers went to work to fix all issues without hours.  The issues were resolved. A "Review" was presented to Google and that took 24 hours.  The review showed there was no more issues with the website. It took the site off the malicious warning list.  

In order to make sure the site was totally secure, Scooby upgraded the forum to the latest version and applied the newest patch. In other words, many things were happening in the background to try to have Google remove this "warning" and then to make the site forum area even more secure.  Notice I say the forum area as the main part of the site was never compromised.  It was only the forums that allowed for someone to "inject" problems into the message boards.  The programmers went into the boards and were on top of this from the first moment this happened.

The Google Webmaster Areas still says: A review for this site has finished. The site was found clean. The badware warnings from web search are being removed. Please note that it can take some time for this change to propagate.

Normally, when a url is listed as bad, it takes 24-48 hours for this to propagate around the world.

One more advise: is someone still see warning - try to flush cache files in browser at your computer.

FWIW, I just discovered that the editing tools will work in Google Chrome, but not in Safari.

 

So I guess I'll be using Google Chrome now. Not surprising, there are several sites I use where this is the case.

 

I also see a little window popping up in the lower left of the screen whenever I scroll over the tools,  the word "Javascript . . ." appears. Probably for debugging, but it presents no problems.

I couldn't access gaythailand for a week, because I took the malware warnings (Avast free antivir) serious. After deleting all cookies (tip on gaybutton), closing firefox and starting it again there are still some warnings left. But with Internet Explorer I don't get warnings.
