You may be going to extremes...While things are very bad, it is not the middle east, a war zone or somewhere that people are literally trying to run away..... Interesting questions.....No you don't get dressed to watch the shows....the drinks are more expensive than if you got them off the street or at a regular restaurant....You take care off your clothes and wear a towel, most clients do... If you choose not to, you will look completely out of place because most patrons have one towels, a few regulars will wear robes... It's simple....no need to overthink the sauna scene... You change clothes, they all tend to have showers, steam and heat rooms, lounging areas where you can have drinks or just sit around and the boys will be around in all these areas and in between depending on the day and time...

I have been traveling to Rio since 2004 and the same saunas that offered rentboys have been around....I totally understand what you mean but since this has been a way of life in the country for such a long time, some entrepreneur who loves boys will open up shop.... Even with the large number of saunas they have managed to exist for a long time...while some have closed, the major players seem to have stayed the same....

So the issue is more of a concern for the locals.... One thing about the sauna scene in Rio is it is not going anywhere...One sauna shuts down and another opens in its place
