  1. Their website is up to date (recent posting is about promotion for Feb 2018). The map is not good, but I managed to find it on google street view (at the northern side of old southern bus station):

Update: it's even on google maps as @Pinklao Spa (For Men By Men)

Thanks for your input. Have you ever visited it?

  2. Immodium is against diarrhea.

When I tried it once in 2011, it did not work for me.

Anyway, immodium just paralyses the sphincter, and does not fight the cause of diarrhea.

Best option for food poisoning is to use immodium in tandem with charcoal. Activated charcoal absorbes the nasty stuff.

  3. And what'about drinking beer ban ?

I suppose drink all you want. Ban concerns only smoking, at least according to the article mentioned above. Maybe there is a drinking ban in effect as well that I'm unaware of but this doesn't sound plausible. Perhaps someone can shed a light on that.

  4. oh. ok.  i thought your comment was that there were line id's in the bkkmassages.wordpress.com site that were wrong or not working =- those I could fix   :)

one way to track down some line id's is to search by phone numbers.  that might work for prince.  At least as of right now if you search to add a friend using the phone number rather than id, under mr. joe's number you get the right line account.  0857402222

I don't know what's going on with thaimassageboys.   For me the thaimassageboy line group has become mostly irrelevant.  I end up getting the same info just from timeline posts, plus more from the other shops tat are active.

I mentioned to the owner of banana club that the Line should be fixed.  I think advertising or building the business through social media just isn't a priority for him (right now).

Did I understand you correctly that Banana is in operation?

  5. 1. you never know who will be deciding what ls "bad" or when that decision may be made so we should not be allowing anyone to collect whatever information they want so as to protect ourselves from abuse of power now and in the future

    2. your right to privacy is not about hiding something bad you are doing, it should be a fundamental human right and if any government or organisation wants to violate that privacy they should need to make a very good case not just vague soundbites about terrorism, crime or protecting the children

    3. it is not necessarily a good idea to mindlessly accept the words of wisdom sprouted by your "good friends"

and yes I do realise that as a hopeless libertarian who still wants to use his mobile phone in Thailand and get his annual retirement extension I am on the horns of a dilemma and I do also realise the chances of the Thai population rising up against such authoritarian tyrannical actions is slim, particularly given the public apathy to such actions in most liberal western democracies these days - but really I am just here for the food, the temples and the smiles so I really am not doing anything wrong :good:

I do not condone collection of any data just for the sake of collecting it, mind you. But I'm pragmatic. While I type these words, there can potentially be someone that will either receive a copy of my piece or that they can store it for possible future use. We leave digital fingerprints and footprints all over the world. How come does Google know that I'll be going to Bangkok in the end of February, and how do they know where I'll be staying? I know how they know. I think that here's the difference - not knowing about your data being transmitted/collected/used/sold etc versus knowing that this happens and exert some form of control over that.

I suppose this all boils down to the fact, still, that if you're up to no good, you'd have vested interest in keeping your data as private and guarded as possible. Even tyrannical societies need "something" to harass you for. Strolling on a temple park and making a call from there wishing your relative happy birthday doesn't really constitute substantial reason to take action against you. But if your country punishes for, let's say, homosexual activities, then you're bound to know that you're putting your kneck on the line.

Perhaps it is time for me to take off my pink glasses but... Well, you get the picture...  :good:

Sorry, English is not my first language and maybe my thought don't get across well, for that I apologise.  :sorry:

    Cheers!

  6. which Line ID's aren't working? Maybe I can update them.

Thai Massage Boy Line ID is not working, they have the QR Code which returns empty search here http://www.thaimassageboy.com.

The Prince Line ID is not working, the site you linked doesn't have their Line ID listed at all (they show ID 0857402222) http://theprincebkk.com/index.php

Other Line ID that I'm interested in are all there, or that place is not haveing one at all.

Banana Club is still in the moving process? Their Line says "coming soon".

Thanks for your help! I'll have something tangible to report in the end of Feb 2018.

    Cheers!

  7. which is why we should have no qualms about giving governments backdoor access to encryption keys

My very good friend used to say that if the person is not up to anything bad, they can collect whatever information they want. Which  leads to three conclusions:

    1. do not plan or do anything illegal

    2. do not buy Thai SIM-card

    3. if you do anything illegal - pray that you're not discovered.

    Cheers!

  8. Looks like Koh Samet has been spared at least for the time being. It's a nice place to go, easy to get to, and very gay friendly.  But I am very much in favor of limiting and eliminating smoking as much as possible.

Being a smoker myself, however, I find the ban aboslutely necessary and think it's the right thing to do. Besides, Thais are offering a space where one can go and have the cancer-food. I'm from Europe, it's very common here to be restriced on smoking.

    Cheers!

  9. I think it would be a bit of a waste to go to a place like this for a massage only.  But of course that's up to you.

     - ah, yes, you're propably right, it most certainly would.

The smaller shops where you pre-select from photos in person or via Line aren't going to have lots of guys there for you to chose from if for some reason you don't like the guy you picked.  From their perspective you have sort of undercut their "please book ahead" rationale.  And the guy that you booked ahead will of course be a little miffed.  So I do not think that's the proper way to proceed.  You can just message the shop and say you will would like to visit at whatever time and ask to have a selection of guys available.  They likely will arrange to have a couple/few guys there no problem.  And if they can't do that they will tell you.  But specifically booking a guy and then saying "oh no I think I would like someone else" is a practice that I think you should avoid.  If you want to book via photos it's no problem you can first ask who does what you want, or you can say you are interested in "X" does he do what you want.  (The default is that virtually all guys will top, but often 60% (plus/minus) will be top only.)

    - alright, this bit is logical. I was planning on popping into the place and making a selection beforehand. I've been trying to get a hold of some of these places via Line and email already but the results are, let's say, marginal. This top/bottom stuff seems to be a hot topic. Let's assume that I go in to get massage and communicate to mamasan what are my wishes. Let's say he points to two guys and, for whatever reason, there is no click. I assume, based on your explanation that before really making a confirmed selection, I'd be free to negotiate which means that I could very well say "maybe next time" and just leave? I'm asking those questions because I don't want to insult or hurt anyone and at the same time still, well, get what I want. And Thailand has a completely different culture than my own.

At the extreme end of don'ts -- don't wait until the massage is over and say "I didn't enjoy it/it wasn't good I don't want to pay" or something like that.  This sort of thing actually happens.  The gone and not forgotten shop Adonis had a simple rule that if you think it's not working in the first ten minutes then say so and they'll get you a replacement.  That seems a fair rule to me to protect the interests of all concerned.  Don't complain if the guy puts a condom on you to give you a blowjob.  Let him know ahead of time if you have a particular concern or part that needs extra attention.

Communication is key.  One thing I have noted is that even though I have confirmed with the manager what I want when selecting the guy, the manager doesn't necessarily pass that information on to the masseur.  So I usually reconfirm with him as we are walking to the massage room.

    - I agree that haggling on price is rude. We should, despite all, remain still honorable.

As Judge Judy says: don't eat whole stake and complain later it wasn't any good - I've got that impression from multiple forum post.

  10. Thinking of trying them out as well. For me, it's the first time... :D

Guys, what is the customary process of going to such spa? Either for a massage only or with extras?

I gather that you're given an option to select the masseuse that you like via pictures - can the guy be changed if I wish after I arrive for whatever reason or is it expected of me to continue with the whole thing and be smarter next time? What info should I refer prior selection and what info do I receive by default?

What is definitely a no-no in these cases?

Any other tips for a first-timer would be much appreciated!

    Cheers! :)
