For those of you that I may have piqued your interest in visiting Colombia. The boy I met who speaks perfect English would be very interested in providing guide services or more. He is the last 2 pics in my report. I have told him to talk to friends who might be interested in meeting visitors and if possible to take some photos. He lives in Bogota but is familiar with Medellin , Cartagena, Cali. I will also soon ask him to jot down any knowledge he has of good bars , saunas etc . And by the way he gets 5 stars in the Sex department!!! I am sure than anyone who likes Brazil will like Colombia. If you have any questions feel free to PM me and I will ask him if I don't have the answer. I am definitely not an expert after one trip but I am quite sure with a little pre-planning anyone can have a great time in Colombia. Hopefully in the near future I will have some more photos of willing boys. I am also sure that our spanish speaking poster (episevilla) is quite correct in boys being available without much in compensation if you speak Spanish. Something for everyone and a fairly short flight from many US cities compared to some other popular destinations. By the way a recent search finds some great vacation apartment rentals at 1/2 the price of Hotels and less then Brazil and apparently much more modern. No personal experience yet but next time probably a good idea.

Tomcal, Want to join you and Oz and Lucky for my Birthday but the airfares are ridiculous. Cheaper to fly to Thailand or 2 trips to Prague. $1600 from Atlanta whether I go through Rio or Sao Paulo. Lot of money for a 4000 mile flight. Will keep looking or a low mileage award or I'll Have to be satisfied with Colombia and Thailand. Out of curiosity which of the two Mecure Hotels is the better location?

I stayed in the Hilton in Bogota and Poblado Plaza in Medellin. No problem in either Hotel/

Some additional thoughts about prices. In Bogota I was staying in a brand new Hilton on a special rate. The would be regular rate will probably be in the $200 range but I saw some nice looking older Hotels where the rate would be in the $100 range. In Medellin I stayed in a nice older Hotel with a rate of $90 (Poblado Plaza). This hotel was in the section of all the malls, restaurants etc. I have to admit that I like Malls. They provide lots of eye candy, restaurants and something to do after the sightseeing. The malls especially in Medellin are spectacular. The designs are different then any I have seen and make the boring malls in the USA look pretty ordinary. The food courts are a great way to sample Colombian restaurants and staying away from the same old USA companies such as Mac and Burger King. Taxis are relatively cheap. Bogota airport to the Hotel is 30 minutes and about $17. Medellin is 45 minutes and about $30 but worth every penny for the scenery. The airport is on top of a mountain and the entire drive is through wonderful hills and fields that remind me of Switzerland. Taxis around town will cost $3-$10 depending on distance. There are casinos in both cities. I did not go inside having lived in Las Vegas for 6 years , I hate them but some may like the additional diversion. Both cities are relatively new to tourism. Their visitors in the past have been more business oriented but since the Drug Cartels have been beaten back tourism is on the rise. Just don't expect a tourist infrastructure of the type you might find in Rio or Bangkok. It will happen I am sure. Most of the visitors I encountered were from Europe or South America. I never saw another American and from watching people in the Customs line there were definitely no USA passports.

Wanted to go for the last year and finally made a short trip of 4 1/2 days. Since I don't speak Spanish and there is not a lot of information on the web, I decided to rely on Gayromeo which I use with great success in Thailand. I conversed with a number of boys in the regular section and the escort section and was encouraged that things would go smoothly even though I knew many of the boys were using google translate . Conversation always makes it better for me but I wasn't traveling to a strange country for conversation. Arrived in Bogota at 930pm and was through customs and in my Hotel by 1030pm. 15 minutes after that one of the boys I made a time with arrived. He looked like the photos and did everything he promised. Pictures of most of the boys will be at the end along with Gayromeo profile numbers for additional photos. He stayed about 2 hours and I gave him the equivalent of $50. That was pretty much what the boys asked for in the Escort section. They put $50 for an hour and anywhere from $100 to $300 for overnight. I did not find any of the boys to be clock watchers so you can expect a couple of hours for your $50. I rarely do overnights unless I have been with the boy a few times so you are on your own if you like all nighters. Now I found the boys in the non escort section never mentioned money and were certainly happy to take the money offered. If I said good bye without offering something, would they have asked? I am not sure. In one case the boy seemed completely surprised but very grateful and in 2 other cases, I felt like they were expecting it but might never have asked.. For me I like it as a financial arrangement. I'm not there looking for a BF and find $50 an extremely fair price for a couple of hours with a quality boy. After 2 nights in Bogota I went to Medellin for 2 nights. Fabulous location at the bottom of a mountain range that looks like Switzerland and has perfect weather year round except for some thunderstorms in the afternoon. Rarely ever below 60 and almost never over 80 year round. I did forget to mention that if you are old and out of shape like me you will get hit with the 9000 ft altitude of Bogota. For 12 hours I was definitely having trouble breathing. Medellin is down around 5000 ft and reminds me of Singapore. 4 to 8 lane roads in the new downtown area and fabulous malls, apartments, condo etc. People are well dressed and their economy is booming. Hook ups were a little harder. Not sure if it was because Medellin is much smaller with a population of 2 million versus 10 million in Bogota. Or it could have been because it was a weekend and the boys have their own things to do. Unlike Brazil, most of the boys are at the University or have jobs. They are just looking to earn some extra money. Also I believe every boy I met was Gay and not Gay for Pay. Now that makes no difference to me one way or another. I am only interested if they do what is promised. Only one boy I met could have been termed slightly fem , the rest were fairly masculine. They all dressed pretty well because generally the country dresses really well . Poor OZ and I will stand out as not well dressed. As far as any safety concerns. I was never concerned but I am always careful in a new country not to wear flashy things or show ads of money. The more affluent areas in both cities , you will not see many police visible, and I guess the reason is cameras everywhere. In the older tourist areas there is a heavy police presence so once again no worries if you are careful. Now I did not do any late nights , or any saunas because time was limited and I was getting plenty of boys. Two of the University boys in Bogota volunteered they had friends for me to see and willing for groups if I wanted. Next trip for sure I will take advantage of that. I found the Colombian people very friendly and willing to help even when my lack of Spanish was a hinderance. Only a 4 1/2 flight from Atlanta , it moves way up on my list for some future visits. I could write a lot more but I know you want pics. Not every boy was comfortable with pics and frankly my pics are not as good as some of the pics the boys post on their ad. I found all the boys used photos that represented how they look at this time. The only changes might be length of hair or style so ask if long hair is important to you. First boy is Douglas23 in escort section of Gayromeo 2nd boy is andresnieto in regular section, 3rd boy is felipelindo5 in escort section, Last 2 photos are LOKOL1 in regular section. The other photo is a guide at the university that i snapped a quick pic of. It doesnt do him justice but boys like this were all over in the malls etc.

LOL Yes I am a Skeptic. Maybe because out of 100"s of photos posted by Tomcal, you and many others, there has not been one sauna boy photo that resembled the boys on the street photos taken by Tomcal in this thread!! I have been to Rio enough times to know that I don't want to go there anymore. It is a long trip and the chance of finding my type of boy is minimal. So before I travel thousands of miles to Port Alegre , I would like to be confidant that my type is readily available. I know that is a sure thing in Prague, Thailand, Cambodia, London etc etc etc. Refer to recent photos posted by Tomcal on his trip to Prague. I like South America and Brazil and would love to go to PA but only if my type of boy is readily available. Recent posts by Pauleiro make it sound like they are but where are the photos. By the way last time I checked your computer , there were 1000's of photos of boys all ove r the world. Shy?? I Think not!!

I follow Tomcals posts all over the world and have seen all his photos of sauna boys. In my opinion not one of them looked like the photos in this thread. They all looked typical RIO or SP sauna boys and for the most part would never be called twinks (IMHO), The boys pictured in this thread more closely resemble Prague boys then the sauna boys I have met in Brazil. Now I am sure the pics are of Brazilian boys in PA and my only question is do the sauna boys in PA look like these boys and does anybody have pics of them.

I have been to all the saunas in SP and Rio on 3 different trips and for sure those photos are NOT typical of the boys you find. In fact if you found one like that it would be a miracle. Now my good friend OZ tells me it is completely different in Porte Allegre and I for one would love to see some photos of sauna boys that look anything like the boys pictured above. You should definitely do both. The trip between them is easy and really they are completely different. Bangkok a world Class city with all that they offer and Pattaya a beachside community that came into being and continues to exist as a Sex destination. Bangkok has many things to visit such as Temples, The Palace, Weekend Market, Fabulous Malls with all that eye candy. It has some good massage parlors and GoGo Bars. A good SEX Show at Boys Bangkok and plenty of boys. Pattaya is for SEX , plain and simple. You can visit the Gay beach but other then that no sightseeing is necessary. Enjoy the boys in the Bars and the Beach and on Gayromeo and then head to the airport with the only thing on your mind being when you can return?

Too much traveling unless you fall in love in BKK. No reason to return. Spend Friday Saturday and Sunday in BKK and then the next 3 nights in Pattaya. The trip to the airport is only 35 minutes longer from Pattaya then BKK. Keep in mind everything in Pattaya is cheaper then BKK so more boys for less money to end your trip . LOL Of course if your flight is early on Thursday , you will have to take a car to the airport but only about $40. The ride between BKK and Pattaya is pretty boring.

Maybe a good choice for first time visitor. Perfect location. Only negative is no safes in the rooms. Best rates should be at Agoda. Rooms are comparable or better then that Hotel everyone stays at in Rio and at 1/2 the price.

Sathorn Grace no personal experience but the location is out of the way for the Gay scene and very hard to find if taking a taxi at night. Also very expensive internet Residence Inn has enough bad comments on various travel sites that I would stay away because of cleanliness etc. Bandera Suites is in a location I have stayed many times. The location is good but I seem to remember reading something about them discouraging guests but don't remember where. I find it hard to believe that rates would be appreciably better at Bandera then Saladaeng Colonade and IMHO Colonnade is far superior because of location and definitely no problems with guests and breakfast and internet are included. You might want to check out Ballys Silom which is in the middle of the night life and gets pretty decent reviews and prices.

Not sure where you reside but assuming you are traveling to Rio from the USA? You may find it cheaper to return to say LAX and get the many cheap fares available to Bangkok from there . As far as Angkor Wat it really depends on you because you could easily spend a week or more there and only scratch the surface. Phnom Phen is a nice small city with good Hotels and restaurants and enough Gay Boys to make it very interesting. There are so many wonderful Temples to see in the Angkor Wat area . I would stay a minimum of 3 nights but easily could spend 7 days without getting bored. Prepare to do a lot of walking and climbing but worth the experience. May I suggest you go to Trip Advisor Forum and read threads on available guides. Your experience will be far superior with your own guide and the cost for this is ridiculously low by Western Standards . It has been 4 years since I hired a man who was in the Cambodian Army during the massacres and he was a wonderful person and guide. I am sorry I don't have his info handy but you will definitely find it on Trip Advisor.

Bars are the same any nights for the most part. If you are into discos then weekend would be better in either place. I would still read the reviews on Agoda , backed up by reviews on Trip Advisor and be confident you will get what they say especially in Bangkok. Pattaya I would be a little more careful for some personal experience . The key is always to book a Double so there is no question when you bring home a guest. I looked at some random November dates in Bangkok and would still recc. Saladaeng Collonade although it may cost you $20-25 more then your $50 wish price, the quality is extremely high and you get an apartment and a pool. Tartawan is a great location but rooms are a little dated and no room safes . Ballys Studio is a perfect location and the reviews are consistently good, I have no personal experience. Boys and bars will cost you 25-40 % less in Pattaya then Bangkok but still easy to do both..

Lurker Thought I told you?? www.agoda.com Select Silom Sathorn area and you will have many to select from. Event 2 and 3 star Hotels in bangkok are very clean, good a/c etc and no problem with joiners. You will have no problem finding nice rooms for $50 or less and for $65 you will get what would be considered near luxury in Brazil. Suggest you look at Ballys Studio on Silom and a little more upscale Saladaeng Collanade which might cost you $65-70 but you will have kitchen and laundry facilities. The weather is beautiful in November, a little cooler and very little rain. I still highly recc. if you have 7 nights, spend at least 3 in Pattaya for the kind of boys you like. Only a 90 minute Limo ride for $35 and you get the beach thrown in. LOL

Lurker Since you have expressed interest in Thailand. As a comparison you could have a Luxury 1 bedroom for about what you paid for sharing the 2 bedroom which was ok IMHO but definitely not luxury, 8 sessions a combination of massages with Sex and just sessions with sex from the bars and I figure you would spend about $700 with food and drinks and for the same $1200 would be able to have a lot more Sex and again IMHO would have found a lot more boys to your liking.

Lurker take the plunge and go to Thailand. 9 days is enough and many here have made trips of that length. Nothing compares for the kind of boys you like. 5 star Hotels for $200, great meals for $20, 90 minute massages followed by Happy Endings for $65, Fuck and Suck Shows etc etc etc. Many Hot Gayboys available on Gayromeo for $35 The airfare will cost you a little more but the Hotels and meals and especially the boys will make your vacation cheaper. Also no chance of taking hours to find a boy to your liking or maybe not even one that really pushes your buttons. You will see more available boys in 1 hour then you saw in Rio in 7 days! Rio is great and a different experience. But it has become ridiculously expensive for those who like nice Hotels and restaurants and of course the boys have become more expensive. Airfares are cheaper in November and everything else is consistent year round.

Lucky I am really surprised you had any problems at your Hotels with guests. I have stayed at all the Marriotts, Sheratons and Westins in Bangkok and nobody even looked sideways at me. Naturally I always book a double room which almost always is the same price as a single and I have never been stopped or charged a single red cent. And if they tried to there would be an immediate call to the General Manager. There is no 5 star or other Hotel in Bangkok that on any night does not have women entering the Hotel who are not registered . They would be hard pressed to stop me with a young man. That said , I make sure the boy is dressed cleanly and does not look like a bum. I'm sure OZ would have the same comments and he has stayed at every 5 star you can think of because he is a Grand Pooba in all the Hotels . LOL

!. For some strange reason rentboy is free to advertise on in Thailand and some other Asian countries. 2.. You are right most of those boys are hoping for someone that does not know better.Offer them the high end of the going rate and 90% will accept.

[ One question for firecat and Oz. I went to the show at Jupiter in Bangkok. I've always liked their shows, and I think you guys did too. But the first hour was quite a bore and I had to leave. Does it get better? I can go again next week... Went to Jupiter last week and agree the show is a Yawn. I think you would enjoy the show more at Boys Bangkok/ Dreamboys Show is better with less down time, seats more comfortable and the boys better looking when the show is not on.
