  1. Let's settle this once and for all and get Harry, James and Charles on Maury Povich.....
  2. Because it is about his favorite Prince and an adorable child... Btw, I was amused to read "I was chuffed to bits", I never heard that before and if it wasn't said by a little girl in the article, I would have thought it meant something totally different. 'I was completely over the moon': Little girl's delight at being hoisted onto Prince Harry's shoulders so she could see the bands at the Invictus Games closing ceremony Isabelle Nixon, five, was left upset after being unable to see the stage Adam Nixon, 31, had earlier captained Team GB to victory in basketball Prince Harry spotted the little girl and swung her onto his shoulders The royal then stayed and danced with Isabelle for the rest of the evening Her soldier father lost his left leg following an IED blast in Basra in 2004 By RUTH STYLES FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 06:04 EST, 18 September 2014 | UPDATED: 15:01 EST, 18 September 2014 727 View comments Unable to see the stage and blocked in by other fans, five-year-old Isabelle Nixon was less than impressed with the Invictus Games closing ceremony - until, that is, Prince Harry came to the rescue. After spotting the little girl, the prince, 30, hoisted her on to his shoulders and then stayed to dance with her as the Foo Fighters took to the stage. Isabelle, whose father Adam, 31, from Hereford, captained Team GB's wheelchair basketball team to victory on Sunday, didn't realise who her hero was until her delighted mother Taryn exclaimed: 'You're dancing with Prince Harry!' Scroll down for video +10 Party prince: Harry picked up Isabelle Nixon, five, put her on his shoulders and danced for the rest of the gig Isabelle said: 'I was completely over the moon. I was chuffed to bits.' Mr Nixon, a former Gunner in 26 Regiment Royal Artillery, lost his one of his legs following an IED explosion in Basra in Iraq in March 2004. His left leg had to be amputated while his right was badly damaged, leaving him confined to a wheelchair. Despite his injury, Mr Nixon, who has four children, daughter Abigail, 11, Jayden, eight, five-year-old Isabelle and three-year-old Lilyana, continued to play his basketball. 'Prince Harry had spoken to us at the ceremony, just to say how proud he was of us guys,' explained Mr Nixon. 'We were underdogs in the final but we beat the US at their own game.' Thrilled: Former soldier Adam Nixon, 31, with Prince Harry (centre) and his five-year-old daughter, Isabelle Delighted: Earlier, former gunner Mr Nixon had captained Team GB to victory in the wheelchair basketball 'He came up, shook my hand and said: "You are a legend" and I asked him for a photo with him and my family. 'Then later, after his speech, Foo Fighters were on the main stage. He came to listen to the music.' But when Harry, who had earlier told Mr Nixon that he just wanted to 'chill out' and watch the show, spotted the tearful Isabelle, he swung into action. 'He recognised her from earlier in the day and saw she was getting upset because she couldn’t see the band,' adds Mr Nixon. 'He approached us and smiled at me and just literally picked her up and just started to dance so she could see the stage. 4. Definitely a hottie. His TV show "Kingdom" looks interesting (with a good amount of violence if one likes that) and I hope to have a chance to see it. Found a trailer for it and hope one of these links works: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/embed/video/1109370.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2750523/Nick-Jonas-strips-New-York-gay-club-reveals-just-new-single.html#v-3707663721001 As far as the other two brothers, apparently they went on a "kiss and tell" speaking tour, which doesn't sound like it had much of either: http://articles.mcall.com/2014-06-08/entertainment/mc-homepage-0607-5-20140608_1_joe-jonas-jonas-brothers-kevin
  5. It often happens on my computer (using chrome) that it doesn't load and gives something that is indicating "the operation timed out".
  6. I am not an expert on photoshopping by any means, and I have been fooled more than once (and probably more times than I realize)....but here is a pic that looks like the source of the pic being discussed: Of course, i suppose someone could photoshop the nude pic by putting on the shorts but that just doesn't seem to make much sense, lol And the framing and general positioning/appearance make it seem unlikely that it is a sequence where he suddenly drops drawers and takes another pic.
  7. An 85-year-old man was requested by his doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical exam. The doctor gave the man a jar and said, ‘Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow.’ The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor’s office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day. The doctor asked what happened and the man explained, ‘Well, doc, it’s like this–first I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing. ‘Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing. ‘We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin’ it between her knees, but still nothing.’ The doctor was shocked! ‘You asked your neighbor?’ The old man replied, ‘Yep, none of us could get the jar open.’

  9. Let's discuss some of those things that are the antithesis of healthy for a moment. I came across this video on how to make deep fried butter. I wasn't sure it was serious as it is something I couldn't quite fathom as something that is real. Anyone have this before? Is it as disgusting to others as it is to me? Or is it next to heaven? And while we are at it, anyone care to suggest some other extremely unhealthy guilty pleasure they may have...beside having wild sex with a twink in the back seat of your car
  10. Happy 2014 International Bacon Day Many of these have come up before somewhere on the forum but worth repeating: 9 Surprising Uses For Bacon in Honor of International Bacon Day Tessa Berenson @tcberenson 7:00 AM ET Getty Images A meaty round-up August 30 is the 14th annual International Bacon Day, a holiday which should be celebrated by waking up, making yourself some nice sizzling strips of bacon and spending the day properly appreciating all things bacon. 11. Cab is my "go to" wine at most meals and as an aperitif, including a good choice for a variety of cheeses on a cheese platter. A port and/or riesling seems best for the narrower scope of blue cheeses, again imho
  12. Personally, I really enjoy honey glazed carrots http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sunny-anderson/honey-glazed-carrots-recipe.html I use green peppers in many many dishes I prepare as it adds a nice flavor, imho. And I really love a good stuffed pepper, but heck I love most things that are stuffed http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/mr-johns-meat-stuffed-bell-peppers-recipe.html I use red onions frequently and usually have one on hand all the time. For me, the key is to soak them in lime juice to take away the bite some. And I could skip most any meal (and have many times) for a platter of assorted cheese (and stinky cheese in that assortment is a must), fresh bread and fruit, with a wonderful bottle of wine (a port or a cab is my preference).

  16. Hopefully there will be an appeal and the initial rating gets revised. There have been several films from what I can find that have had successful appeals, mostly related to language. It does seem that the MPAA is fairly quick to slap an R-rating on movies because of language so the link to homophobia isn't necessarily clear. Below are a couple relatively recent examples of reversals: http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/2013/11/update-judi-dench-steve-coogan-win-ratings-battle-philomena/ http://www.care2.com/causes/update-mpaa-reverses-decision-on-bully-film-rating.html
  17. It is an interesting article and topic, especially considering the use of e-readers in educational institutions will increase (at least that is what I speculate will happen). Perhaps it is already prevalent, something I don't know as I am far removed from that environment. I shared the article with a friend of mine who has his PhD in instructional design and technology to get his viewpoint. Boiling it down he indicated that there is vast literature looking at whether the medium makes a difference and the results have shown that it makes no significant difference. He does not believe the above study will hold up over time and further research. Here is another study from a year ago that seems to contradict the above: http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2013/06/study-reading-in-print-versus-on-a-computer-or-kindle-doesnt-change-comprehension/276818/ Perhaps this one shows that a younger generation is more adept at being able to use the e-readers as effectively as hard copy. Seems as though further research will be needed. From my own personal experience, I tend to be more aligned with the results of the first one referenced in AS' post...but then again, I am old fart
