  1. You are correct - that particular article is old, but the risks have not changed. Statistically, 4 out of every 1 million who receive the yellow fever live vaccination become infected with yellow fever and die. Live virus vaccines are inherently more dangerous than inactivated vaccines. It’s a small percentage, but definitely something to consider, especially when you are going to a lower-risk area of Brazil like Rio. I’m not against the vaccine. Certainly if I was planning to go to a high-risk area of Brazil like the Amazon I would get it..
  2. My main concern with the yellow fever vaccine is that it’s a live vaccine. Within the past 5 years, 7 people have contracted yellow fever from the vaccine and died. It is one factor to consider when balancing benefits/risks. https://www.webmd.com/drug-medication/news/20010713/deaths-tied-to-yellow-fever-vaccine
  3. But the dentist and lawyer no longer work at the saunas right? I’m guessing they only escort now with the clients they had a connection with from the past
  4. This is quite fascinating. It really challenges the stereotype that escorts do it because they are desperate/have no choice. For an escort, I would think working at a sauna (where you can screen clients to some extent) is far preferable to doing outcalls, and having no idea who is going to answer the door when you knock.
  5. Yeah I’m sure there are students who hook their way through school (I think tomcal once mentioned a dentist?). But I assume once they finish they no longer need to do programas
  6. I doubt many of the garotos are rocket scientists, doctors, lawyers, or engineers. Brazil actually does have a middle class. Most garotos never went to college or have degrees in “nutrition” or “physical education” Cuba is the only country I think where what you said above applies (although less now than during, say the 90s)
  7. Such an interesting story, thanks for posting. I had never even heard of Inhotim before.
  8. The good thing is that the effort needs to be made only once - usually after you have finally pinned down the elusive guy and taken him to a suite, the next time you see him he will come over and say hi right away. As far as costs, I don’t think Lagoa is any more expensive than the Rio saunas. Mon- Thurs entrance at Lagoa was only 50 reals and a room 15 reals for a total of 65. On free cabin nights Point 202 charges 60.
  9. A poster in another thread said part of the appeal of going to a sauna is the feeling like you are a celebrity rock star being chased by hot groupies. The frustrating part about Lagoa is this doesn’t happen there. Or at least not in the same way it does at 117. Yes, you will get chased - by the lower tier guys. Meanwhile, the one you are really interested in can act quite aloof, as likeohmygod has noticed. At Lagoa, unknown quantities are often viewed with indifference. An “elite” Lagoa boy chasing you? Nope. Not going to happen. Most likely the attitude you get will be “prove you are worth my time.” Most of the “elite” boys won’t even show their cock publicly. To be clear, when I say elite I am referring to only about 10% of the guys there. Some of these guys don’t work at Lagoa in the normal sense (they only show up fully clothed during shows) I remember trying to talk to one guy who was so incredibly rude - worse than any barbie you would encounter at The Week. Most of these types have some kind of sugar daddy that supports them and are only interested in high-yield clients. That being said, there are still plenty of hot guys to be had at Lagoa who are friendly and good in bed. If I get a sense of any attitude from a Lagoa boy I immediately peace out and find another (ultimately the numbers are on our side - out of 50 it isn’t hard to find 1 or 2 for the night). But I understand the frustration of seeing that one gorgeous guy who won’t give you the time of day.
  10. Doesn’t the weak Real mostly hurt Brazilians if they leave the country? I don’t think the prices for the metro, food, etc. change much just because the Real has gone from 3 to 4 vs the USD.
  11. The patio/pool area is beautiful! Does the guy come included with the rental?
  12. It seems like the majority of garotos have tattoos. Some go way more overboard on it than others.. Bae #3 has a tatto of a skull, which is so unattractive and also a little creepy lol.
  13. This is my favorite guy in the video. So sexy, and as an added bonus, he’s vers
  14. I found the House Hunters episode set in Rio that @Badboy81mentioned. I'm pasting the link if anyone wants to watch!
  15. 1) The whole point of this thread was to have an easy-to-find thread solely dedicated to pricing so that other threads would not get de-railed by pricing discussions. 2) There is no need to bump a month old thead unless you want to contribute something new (i.e. your recent experiences with pricing in saunas). Also, unlike what you have stated sauna pricing is not that simplistic, and there are many nuances (goza vs no goza, overnight rates, etc.) At this point though I’m literally so exhausted with the pricing discussion. I had no idea what a can of worms it would be to open or how controversial it is.
  16. @Tomcaldid you consider buying in Rio before deciding on Mexico? I’m guessing it’s possible to get a lot more for your money in Mexico currently
  17. Post the con-artists picture here and out him. It’s clear him and his female accomplice are doing this regularly to unsuspecting foreigners. Hiring guys is not illegal in brazil, and his threat to call the police was a bluff. But I understand the situation was scary and in the moment you weren’t sure how to react. As I mentioned in a previous thead, a garoto pointed out some guys at Lagoa who he claimed had been in jail. Outside the sauna setting, things can unfortunately get out of control. Latinddude posted a few days ago about a different garoto who went to his hotel, refused to perform and stole his cologne. Did he know you were closeted? That might have emboldened him to think you would be more susceptible to blackmail
  18. Which way have you found to work best? The problem is they usually hang out in their dressing rooms backstage and then leave shortly after the show. There isn’t a large window of opportunity to approach them
  19. Let us know how it goes...I think at Lagoa the strippers are going to want more than 200 - that is, if they even give you the time of day at all (they generally are only interested in well-known moneyed Paulistas). If you want them to bottom for you, it will be even harder.
  20. The paparrazi controversially used a drone to catch him doing nude yoga in his high-rise condo. You can’t see much though because the photos are so blurry..
  21. Yes it’s Caua Reymond, who is a total Carioca snack. He is playing a gay character in a movie coming out this year, and is going full frontal in explicit sex scenes. I’m definitely looking forward to THAT lol! Somehow I doubt it’s his first experience with gay sex... https://catracalivre.com.br/geral/entretenimento/indicacao/caua-reymond-fara-nu-frontal-em-filme-com-cena-de-sexo-gay/
  22. Yes totally. Some will even throw in a golden shower for free
