  1. My sister has a Nordic Track. Bike wise, it's well constructed and no real complaints. It is nice that a year of iFit is included with the cost of the bike (not the case with Peloton). That said... Peloton classes tend to be better reviewed than iFit. I haven't personally taken any of the iFit classes but she has ridden with Peloton instructors on my bike and has said she prefers the instructors on Peloton more.

It could also just be a hype thing, but I feel like I can't name a single iFit instructor, but Peloton teachers have this higher recognition (e.g. a lot of people know Cody Rigsby, Alex Toussaint got a big shout-out on Carson Daly's show... etc.)

Tried a buddy's peloton.  Liked it, but I get a better, harder workout at spin class

I think it definitely depends a lot on which instructors and which kind of classes you take. Some are known for pushing harder than others. Olivia Amato is notorious for hammering you in classes, Sam Yo tends to do classes that are a lot more Zen. Alex Toussaint teaches a lot of recovery rides, but does harder Treadmill classes, focusing a lot more on mental training on the bike. Cody Rigsby tends to push hard because his rides are fueled by music choice. Since most pop songs have a higher rhythm, his cadence callouts tend to be higher paced.

They also have a type of class called "Power Zone Training" where you use a diagnostic test to create a bar on the bottom of your screen that is customized to you. Then during the workouts the instructors call out a zone rather than a cadence/resistance. The net result is that the class is "personalized" without them needing to literally create a different class for every client. The zones are based on what pro cyclists train on (e.g. Zone 1= active recovery... Zone 5=VO2 Max... etc.). They explain it a lot in layman's terms (e.g. Zone 2 should be just a bit sticky but you should be able to have a conversation easily. This is an "all day" effort... Zone 3 you can chat but you don't want to have a conversation...etc.)

Using Power Zone classes you never have to guess whether or not you're going to get a good workout when you're picking a class. I always know exactly how hard of a workout it is going to be based on the type of PZ class ("Endurance" rides are always zones 2-3 with a warmup in 1 and a max in Zone 4.... "PZ Max" rides are mostly 4-6 with a sprinkle of Zone 7... etc.).

  3. I am addicted to mine! It makes some damn good "one pot" meals and speeds up most things. I use mine a lot for making dried beans instead of canned, all kinds of soups, and bigger roasts that take longer to really render out and tenderize.

The only thing that takes some getting used to is adjusting the liquid amounts when cooking under pressure. For example, the first time I made rice in it I just followed my normal recipe (I use the hack of measuring the water line based on your index finger's first knuckle) and it was way too much liquid! The rice was too mushy. The second time I reduced by a bit and it turned out much better! If you're making rice I recommend experimenting a bit for ratios, using smaller recipe sizes, before you cook up a giant batch!

There are a TON of great recipes for the InstantPot out there too! Some are "authorized" but really just do a google search for instant pot recipes and you'll find a bunch of blogs!

I want to buy one but I am not sure its worth the money?

I went back and forth on that as well. There are ways to replicate most of the experience with a cheaper bike. TONS of good videos online of how you can turn a $300 bike into a quasi Peloton by using the app and conversion tables. For me, it came down to the benefits of using their bike with their training. They have a concept called Power Zone Training where you regularly take assessment rides to track your numbers and then train within the zones it creates. They call it "Personal Training at Scale." So once you calibrate your zones you can do things like take rides and stay in certain zones (e.g. Zone 2 is maximum fat burn, Zone 4-5 are aerobic training, Zone 6-7 is anaerobic...).

Here's a link for "turning" a cheaper bike into a Peloton:

Alex Toussaint is really incredible.  I also can't take my eyes him!

Agreed man! And his personality is so attractive! He sometimes says some cheesy shit... but I can't help but smile every time I take his classes and I feel so good by the time I get off the bike!

Unlike here, people in Gayguides mainly talk about travel experience in Thailand, and approximately only 20% posts involve content of other countries in Asia, with almost no content of coutries outside Asia. So the merger between Boytoy and Gayguides is such a great idea because we could now enjoy the various and exciting travel experience around the world, just in one site. :D

However, every forum indeed has its own unique characteristic, and consequently there would be some merger problems to sovle. Like the post rules and etc.

    ...

Good to hear from a current gayguides member! Thank you for sharing your experience. Is discussion about escorts and sex tourism permitted at gayguides?

Although in most of the countries discussed here (e.g. Brasil, Netherlands, Spain(sort of), Domican Republic....) prostitution is legalized and regulated, in others it is illegal (e.g. Egypt, Morocco, etc.), which means that the posts are discussing illegal activity.

  6. It is insane the lengths to which people will go to defend the seditious actions of the domestic terrorists that assaulted our Capitol on Wednesday! It takes some very strong delusion to believe this crap, or (if you're Ted Cruz or Josh Hawley.... just an unrelenting desire to be President at any and all costs...)!

We are hearing some legislators (who were themselves bunkered down as gun toting rioters were storming through their halls) that "they thought the building was open to the public, they didn't know they were trespassing" or "they were antifa, this is a hoax meant to denigrate Trump supporters."

People who think the building is open to the public don't bludgeon a police officer to death with a fire extinguisher! (the officer died this morning; he had been on life support while waiting for his family to be present for his final moments).

If this was an antifa led hoax intended to denigrate Trump supporters, then bravo on accomplishing the deepest cover sting operation in history... they've been playing the long game! Many of the individuals in these pictures have been very active on social media for YEARS about their views and threats to violently overthrow the US Government. So if this whole time they have secretly been "antifa" operatives, then I am looking forward to the movie Spike Lee makes about them in a few years!

It is also insane to see how people are trying to distinguish the response to BLM protestors and this act of terrorism by saying that, in the prior instance, police had more time to prepare! There are photos of people at Trump Rallies weeks and months before this wearing t-shirts with slogans like "MAGA: CIVIL WAR - Jan 6, 2021." Parler, FourChan, Twitter, and Facebook have been populated for months with things like "I'll bring the guns, let's do this!" So anyone who says law enforcement was caught off guard or had more warning of prior protests is living in a fantasy world!

As the site is also slow at times, the site will be merging with another site called gayguides.com.  This will allow a broader base of membership with guys who have similar interests. Most of the gay guides members are experienced travelers to Asia. Most of the ones for boytoy are more experienced in South America and Europe. A couple of years back, the gaythailand site merged into gayguides and soon other sites will be merged to create a more active forum.

Since the beginning of this site, originally maleescortreview.com and then boytoy.com, members have been loyal and provided great discussions of escorts and places to travel to find great guys. I hope that this continues. ....

Will discussions of escorts be permitted on GayGuides?

Sorry if this has already been answered but I couldn't see it anywhere in the responses to this thread. I know that forums all have different rules, and bigger sites attract more attention from authorities who may feel this violates SESTA/FOSTA and the crackdown that the US has gone through over the past year. A lot, of course, depends on where the servers for Gayguides is located, but if they're a US Based company I imagine some of the ruels are going to need to get tighter on how much people can share about their experiences.

    Finished Valhalla this week

Also a Valhalla player! It has been a bit repetitive in some parts, but I am really enjoying it and it is a gorgeous game! Reminds me of The Witcher III a bit with how scenic it is!

After all the shock and worry of yesterday, I was downright blissful when I woke up this morning.  Congress had done it's job, and Trump was blocked on Twitter...

I can't believe I'm about to praise Facebook..... but Facebook at least is keeping his ban in place. He is blocked "indefinitely" and they have promised they will not unblock him before Inauguration day.

Allegedly he is considering starting his own media network that will include social media. Though I'm waiting for him to announce he is going to be the chief spokesperson for Parler! And I'm sure all of his sycophants would flock to follow him there instead

What about new charges specifically related to inciting sedition this year? Could they not be laid following inauguration? Can Pence re-invent or Trump trump statutory limitations by, respectively, pardon or resignation?

It would all depend on when the pardon takes place and what language is used. The president has the power to pardon using language like "Any and all crimes that may have been committed..." In which case it's like a giant eraser on everything that happened in the past. That was what the Nixon pardon looked like.

  11. If you haven't seen this yet I highly recommend! All three deliver good performances that don't feel "over-acted." I think most people remember Coolidge for her over-the-top style roles (e.g. Legally Blonde) but here I feel like her performance is really subtle.

It is a pretty dark comedy, but also a super timely statement. Oddly this film didn't get great reviews with critics (the metacritic score was like ~70) but fans have all really enjoyed it. I think what might have turned some critics off is that the feel like the social commentary aspect of the film is too "woke." But I think that ignores the intention of the film to be intentionally dramatic. The cinematography emphasizes that too (extreme dark and neon contrast in all of the scenes where she is "on the hunt" vs more muted washed out colors in her day-to-day life).

The outlook is fairly bleak but, I mean... so is life ::shrug::

  12. Hi All! Any fellow brothers here ride Peloton? My husband and I bought ourselves one for Chanukah this year and have been enjoying the ride so far (yeah... it's kind of like a cult, but I'm hooked!) My goals for 2021 have a lot to do with Fitness and the bike and trainers are helping me stay motivated!

Fellow riders, favorite rides? Favorite coaches?

So far I am a fan of Ben Alldis, Alex Toussaint, and Robin Arzón!

Particularly now that the studio is empty (because of COVID) I enjoy seeing Ben and Alex's ass in the mirror behind them while they're coaching! haha

  13. A fantastic indy film that is coming soon to streaming! It will be available on demand in the US January 15.

Carey Mulligan is fantastic in this, and a surprisingly good performance from Bo Burnham as well. Used to seeing him as a stand-up comic but he really shone here in this more serious role!

Also... Jennifer Coolidge is almost unrecognizable in this, but delivers a great (even if quite small) performance!

  14. I think it also depends on how high your settings are and whether you have any of the patches installed. On release day things were pretty bad. There are some pretty hilarious glitch compilations on youtube:

  15. There is such a huge political shell game happening behind the scenes right now. While I want him gone... I am also cognizant of the fact that this would mean Vice President Pence will be elevated to the Presidency. This will open the door for a full and unequivocal pardon of Trump and his family members.

There is debate as to whether or not a self-pardon would be upheld, but there is no disagreement about whether a President's successor can pardon. This is part of why Nixon was persuaded to resign.

If Trump isn't removed via the 25th, or through impeachment.... I would not be surprised if he resigns a day or two before the inauguration in order to have Pence pardon him.

Silver lining... the federal executive can't pardon for STATE crimes!
