Line Booking is more challenging and more comical than I expected...
Daddy415 replied to Daddy415's topic in Gay Thailand
Now that I am here in Bangkok it is going much more smoothly. I think the two issues were me messaging off hours because I was in the USA, and trying to book in advance. Now that I'm asking about same day or next day bookings it is going well. -
Line Booking is more challenging and more comical than I expected...
Daddy415 replied to Daddy415's topic in Gay Thailand
I thought my question was pretty simple but I think it's the advance booking that is throwing them... I'll wait until I land in BKK. It's provided me some much-appreciated humor before the trip.... -
After wading through the hundreds of therapists at the dozens of spas and narrowing them down, it's proving comically frustrating to try to actually book any of them. Here are some examples: Kman spa: Me: what is the price for (name) Saturday 2 pm with vip room? Kman: OK Several days later, me: "Can I book (name) Saturday Apri 27 at 2 pm for 90 mins in vip room?" Kman: "The shop accepts reservations every day." (I'm finding this is an auto-response as I see it frequently with them.) Me: <name> new line <April 27> Kman: The shop accepts reservations every day. Me: silence Kman: Have you asked to reserve again? Me: Again? Me: (asks same question about booking Saturday, this time in Thai using Google Translate) Kman: (in Thai) The shop accepts reservations every day. Me: gif of Ryan Gosling confused at the Academy Awards Kman: The shop accepts reservations every day. *** Me: Same therapists every day or you have others? The One: Yes. *** Onespa: We chat on LINE app. (sends link to download app) Me: We are chatting on LINE app right now. Onespa: We are Sky Massage. *** And this one is my FAVORITE...🤣 Me: thank you for sending photos of (name). 52-54-56? TCS Spa: 34-24-26 TCS Spa: 1234 TCS Spa: 5678 I'm thinking I should just show up and see what a shop has?🤣

Londoner, many of the spas have accounts and you can add them as friends... they then send you their daily menu of therapists... sometimes twice a day!

With Bangkok 1 week away I find myself overwhelmed with all the choices that are flowing in hourly on my LINE app.... I am definitely going to return to a few of my favorites from last trip, but want to meet new favorites. I know reviews aren't allowed here but would welcome any DM's with your favorites. I promise to then post a trip report with how it all goes.😎 I am definitely going to try Kman but WOW they have so many therapists... I know I'm not buying a house, just 90 mins, but I'm only there once a year.... and all the choices are beginning to look the same. I find myself saying wait is that the same guy at Relax? Where is this spa? Going in circles... help a guy out....😘

Yes, and I hear the water at the massage shops is much sweeter...

Thanks guys... I am thinking with the weather so hot there is really no choice but to get massages all day when I am there...I'll watch movies on the plane! 😂 My final day in BKK last time I had 3 massages before my evening flight... I melted onto the plane and it was glorious...

I'm returning to Bangkok later this month and have never been during the super hot season. I'm guessing we will use more Grabs than we did when it was cooler, but am wondering if there are any other suggestions beyond the usual, carry lots of water, wear a hat etc. Specifically, I recall all of the massage places having aircon when I was there... but recognizing these are not 5-star hotels, is your experience that inside the spas is comfortable even when there's such extreme heat outside? Thank you!

Thank you @Travelingguy and @vinapu! I will report back after my visit later this month.

Enthusiastic, hard-working, and a great therapist with plenty of heavy artillery. Always smiling and definitely not just "going through the motions." I tend to prefer the 25 and up type, to each their own I say.

Looking for Mr. Goodbar...😂 Mr. B used to work at Paradise and they informed me he is no longer there. Has anyone seen him at a different spa? Thanks!

A quick trip report (Bali, December 2023 - January 2024)

Did you make it up to Ubud at all? I'm wondering if the "devastation" is the same there. -
A good reminder to stay safe, guys. Not worth it!

First-timer: confused about how massages work
Daddy415 replied to newtobangkok123's topic in Gay Thailand
The "minimum tip" is much more convenient because you don't have to negotiate in the heat of the moment. Totally ruins the mood for me if they start negotiating while I'm getting heated up. -
I private messaged you.
-
Yes that makes sense... however if I have limited time in BKK, which I always do, I'm willing to pay more for consistent quality at a place like Jey Spa vs. roll the dice at S'sense. Ultimately they all hire independent agents it seems, and some have a better vetting process than others.
-
Glad S'sense worked out for you... we both had terrible massages there. I walked out. It shows the variability at these places and how I guess we can't make a decision based on one experience.

Go to Jey Spa and ask for Kiat. You're welcome.

Gay Massage in Koh Samui - Emerald Green Mens Club

Samui is a very small island. Somehow I was able to read that text, go in and have a wonderful time. -

What Vinapu said. Even 9-TEEN in Silom6 said "no sex" when asked... if they advertise sex, they are a brothel. If they advertise massage, they are a spa. Remember, it is the land of smiles. and winks. (and twinks..) 😁 -

Yes, I would rather get 1 massage there than three in Silom6....;) -

60 mins thb 2,000... 90 mins 2,700 thb. Recommended tip starts at 300. Full info here: https://www.emeraldgreensamui.com/ -
I also wanted to add we had a great dinner at EAT ME, which is gay owned and an institution there. High-end and amazing. And as long as I'm in restaurant mode, Vertigo at the top of the Banyan Tree is expensive but wow, what a view.... you can save money and go to Moonbar which basically has the same view.
