  1. I'm surprised non one has mentionded Boat Bakery on 2nd Road across from Boyztown. It's been about 3 years since I've been to Pattaya but I ate breakfast there almost every day. I like my eggs over medium and I find it hard to find a place that makes them right here in the USA, let alone in thailand where they are not [my] native speakers. The waiters were very friendly and attentive and food, both thai and farang, was very reasonable and tasty in my opinion. PLUS, I found their fried chicken, available by the piece, nearly as good as my Kentucky grandma used to make. The baked goods and ice cream were icing on the cake, no pun intended. The last time I was there, the old lady behind the glass that watched over the money as intently as the guards at Fort Knox, was chasing one of the bus biys with a cleaver. There was a notchen that sounded like breaking glass and out he came with the old lady right on his tail. No charge for the show.
  2. Adding my 2 cents/bhat. I have been looking for hotels for a November trip. surprisingly, Booking.com gives Ban Dok Mai 3 stars vs. only 2 for Cafe Royale, Ambience & Copa. Read some bad reviews about service and cleanliness at C-R, service at Copa and Ambience. All 3 plus BDM offer 10% Utopia discount. I haven't seen anything in this thread about Don Plaza or Marina Inn. DP gets the highest rating on several travel sites, and is about 150 bht/night more expensive. In the past I always staid at Mike Hotel around the corner from Boyztown. Front desk closely checked ID's of my "guests" and saved me from making a mistake on several occasions. But they've apparentlty undergone a major renovations and rates are now on par with Marriott etc. Anyone can offer thoughts on Don Plaza or Marina compared to the others?
  3. Thanks to everyone for the great travel advice. I'm more excited than ever and believe even a 2-day trip north will be worth it. I also plan to take in the Arts of the Kingdom exhibit in BKK. Thanks again for taking the time to read and reply to my inquiry. Khun Bill
  4. I know this crosses topics addressed before, but I couldn't find an answer so I hope people will forgive me if this seems like a repeat. After a 3 year absence, I will visit thailand again. I will arrive Nov 22 in BKK. I have an appointment in BKK Sunday Nov 25 AM. After that I plan on heading to Pattaya. I've done most all the touristy things and bars in BKK, so I'm thinking of visiting some place new for Nov 22-24 rather than stay in BKK. Is 2 days enough to do Chiang Mai or would you folks in the know recommend some other places to visit? In my previous 6 trips I've only visited BKK, Pattaya and Phuket. Not really interested in returning to Phuket. Looking on the Internet, most of the lower cost airfares to CMX are already sold out, I assume due to upcoming loy krathong. Any advice would be appreciated. As far as what I am looking for... I enjoy the culture places like Wat Po and the palace in BKK and entertainment places like nong nooch and Sri Racha Tiger Zoo in Chonburi... so I'm not just looking for bars and boyz. Thanks in advance KB
  5. Been to Thailand 6 times before. Last trip was 2007. Have only visited BKK, Pattatya & Phuket. Want to visit later this year and explore more of Thailand. Have been checking out Chaing Mai, Koh Samui and Hua Hin. The more I read the more I am leaning toward HH (but I'm open to other viewpoints. Any recommendations on hotels there or other advice? Thanks in advance.
  6. On Delta, it's not just booking award tickets that gets frustrating. Hit the Low Fare Finder and you would expect that Delta would show you the lowest fare possible, but that's not always true. Whenever I book on Delta I check them out then check out Kayak, Cheapoair and other wbesites and I often find lower fares than on Delta's site. And when I then go back to Delta's site and search by schedule rather than lowest fare, I find the same lower fares as on other sites. And booking early doesn't ensure lower fares for rewards or purchase on Delta. I booked a trip from Detroit to New Orleans in Feb for travel at end of May. My first reward "price" was 75K miles for business class and 50k for economy. Like in the video, I kept hitting search again. Business went up to 150K in a matter of minutes and then I got the same flights for 42K business, less than the miles needed for coach! No comment from Delta when I pointed this out to them
  7. If I have to change planes, I'd much rather do it in Seoul versus Narita. I don't know how DL and others can advertise 1 hr connections in Narita when you have to go through long security lines again. I've done Chicago-Seoul-Bkk on KE and found it an easy transfer. Detroit-Tokyo-BKK stresses me out, even when flying business class it's always rush rush rush
  8. Thanks to all who replied. I'm looking at a mid-to-end of July 2 week trip (all the time I can get from work). CO shows a 120k mile award for first/biz class As for being a big baby... my mom said 6 lbs 9 oz. If she were alive today, I'm sure she'd say I am a bigger baby now
  9. It's been almost 4 years since my last trip to LOS due to my caretaking responsibilities for 2 elderly family members. Those duties finally ended last week. I want to plan a trip to come b4 the end of the year. In the past I've come during Songkran, Loi Krathong, The King's birthday, and (global) New Year. I was thinking about visiting around my birthday, end of July through early August, but I'm not sure of the advisability. I think I still have some scorched body parts from Songkran heat. From what I found on the Internet, July/August is somewhat rainy season, but what does that mean in real terms? Are bars and beaches empty? Will I melt like the Wicked Witch of the West? Extreme heat & humidity take their toll on me. Any advice about travel that time of the year would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  10. " I wonder if they have a technology training school for sexual positions that I missed?" I was thinking that maybe it came from some sexual gymnastics program with a play-by-play announcer and color commentator. You know, where a series of judges give a numerical rating after each performance. I can just imagine the commentary ..."His program starts with an anal dog and a pray over with a level 3 difficulty. He follows that up with a variant right angle and an acute angle combination... let's see how the judges scored it Brent."
  11. This really isn't a LOS topic, but since Gay Romeo is often discussed in this forum. I recently received an email from an enterprising escort reportedly from the Philippines. His email of services offered was as follows... HI I'M LEO 19 YEARS OLD FROM PHILIPPINES,IN MANILA... A YOUNG HANDSOME GUY AND CUTE...AN ESCORT AND A TRAVEL GUIDE AROUND MANILA ... services offered...a young handsome cute guy...interested to suck and be fuck... ESCORT OR SERVICE GUIDANCE FOR FUN AND MORE... -FUN AND SAFE PLAY -CAN BE A TOUR GUIDE IN PLACES THAT U WANTED TO GO LIKE BARS,DISCO BARS, DANCE BAR, -TRAVEL WHAT EVER YOU LIKE TO GO AROUND PHILIPPINES.. FUCKING POSITIONS: -ANAL DOG AND THE PRAY OVER -ANAL UNDERDOG OR OVER THE TOP -ANAL CARTWHEEL OR WHEEL CART -THE DOUBLE "M" WITH UNDERDOG -ANAL VARIANT RIGHT ANGLE -ANAL BISECTOR -ANAL AN ACUTE ANGLE -Stand style BLOWJOB POSITIONS: -THE "H" -THE "L" -THE "G" -FELATIO: INVERTED HAMMER -FELATIO: CAT CRAWL AND ADURATION WITH THE WORSHIP -FELATIO: THE TORCH TYPES OF BLOWJOB: -NORMAL JOB -ICE JOB -HOT JOB OK, so I am dating myself as ancient and sheltered. I haven't a clue as to what any of this means. I am, basically aware of top and bottom, on the bed or off. Has anyone ever encountered such a menu of services? I'm sure some of mthe more creative members will undoubtedly come up with their own unuique descriptions. Anyway, I hope the email brings a bit of a smile or laugh to your busy days
  12. I'm not sure how different this is from how young people in the USA introduce or refer to close friends as "my bro" There's even a new term coined for a close relationship with a male counterpart, "bromance"
  13. Personally, I'm not surer which is worse - standing in the center isle and forcing people to squeeze by, or referring to those people as "stupid." Unaware? Perhaps. Inconsiderate? Can't say for sure, but certainly seems to be from my cultural frame of reference. But stupid? To me that IS inconsiderate and way off base. Don't think that mindset would get me a lot of Thai friends. I recall the first time I came to Thailand I had to transfer at Japan's Narita Airport. I was standing in front of an elevator waiting to go up one level when the door opened and I was overrun by an elevator car full of Asians pushuing and shoving to get by. It pissed me off, but I later realized that they had different cultural standards about personal space, etc. Didn't make them any more stupid than me for thinking THEY were in the wrong! I find the same thing happens here in the States. Some people are just clueless about their surroundings. But I wouldn't consider them stupid or ignorant.
  14. No, not JUST sex. Nong Nooch Orchid Garden & Culture Center is another... watching those elephants paint the t-shirts can be very enticing
  15. I got one ... "Yes, boy can do everything. No problem!."
  16. If a traveler is adventurous, I would recommend finding a local, possibly a boy you've come to trust, or someone else who knows their way around. On my earlier trips to LOS I had hired a Thai guide who took me to local places outside of the typical tourist areas. I remember going to an open air seafood restaurant, dirt floor, across from the water, bare light bulbs strung throughout and long picnic style tables. There were about 6 of us total and we shared the best seafood I've ever had and the cost of sharing was minimal to my pocket book. There were other "hole in the wall" places outside of Boyztown, Sunee and Jomtien that I would have never ever considered without some local presence to guide me.
  17. As a traveler rather than a local, I've always liked Boat Bakery across from Boyztown on Pattaya 2nd Rd. They have both Thai and Western food, reasonable prices and the waiters are good at remembering visitors, and good with English language. On my last visit there the kitchen mama was chasing after one of the waiters with a meat cleaver and had to be held back. No cover for the show I've also had lunch several times at S&P (I think that's the name) on 3rd floor of Royal Garden. Reasonable prices, decent food, fast service and the watermelon freezes go down nice after a hot morning of shopping, walking or lying on the beach.
  18. A few weeks back I started a post about boys on G-R advertising wanting "High sex" and "Party Sex" I just couldn't believe they were being so open about the desire to use drugs during sexual encounters. It just seemed so contrary to what I had always read and heard about drug laws and penalties in Thailand. I guess things have changed. I'm seeing even more of that brazen advetrtising than just a few months back. How things have changed for the worse
  19. Was that to help the boys with clean up on Aisle one or to protect the customers from flying objects?
  20. Yep, good for sneezes, sniffles and all those stiff muscles that accompany a cold I hear
  21. Prior to my last trip to LOS I stopped at one of the local dollar stores near me and purchased a bunch of those glow-in-the-dark plastic bracelets and necklaces. A pack of 5 bracelets or 3 necklaces cost $1.00. On my first night in Pattaya, as I walked through Boyztown and Sunee I would break one open and give it to a doorman or a dancer standing outside on break. Everybody loved them, and yes, the mamasans wanted in also. I would also give one to a waiter when I went inside. Well, the next night, everybody seemed to want me to come in. I think I bought $20.00 worth those things and it was one of the best buys I could have made!
  22. Ahhhh! Tissues for those who may have a runny nose. How thoughtful!
  23. Thisn one didn't involve any language translation, just mental translation as it caused me to stop and think. From one of the great state of Hawaii's tourist hangouts ...
  24. I might suggest easily intimidated instead of rather reserved. I put myself in the somewhat shy and rather reserved category and loved this bar because the boys tend to reach out to customers without being overbearing(at least when I was there), and most boys seemed to be having fun which can be infectious to those who are not normally out there in a gregarious way. As someone who is more reserved, if I go into a bar where all the boys seem bored and disinterested, I am less likely to make the first move even if I find someone cute, as it just doesn't feel welcoming. But I would agree with you that they type of boys is important, thyen again, you could say that about most of the bars.
