Have many thoughts to share as an "outsider" which I will delve into later. I'm, joining now though to hopefully give some perspective from the potential new members who may also want to sign up. I registered for a free membership today because up till now, I was able to view the "stat sheet" of an escort; still thumbnails, but i could find out if he smoked, kissed, travel radious, etc. As of today, i can no longer do that, so i was forced to register sooner than i had planned. While I eventually was going to register anyway, having an option taken away as a consumer was not pleasing. Having read the forums here the last few months, and lately, the suggested pricing structure, i believe will only provide a further deterrment for MER to generate NEW members. As it stands now, one can sign click the Rentboy webpage, pick thier city, and scan available escorts. They can also view decent size pics AND check out that escorts stat card. Shoppers can do this WITHOUT signing up for a membership AND it's free- and judging by Rentboys name recognition and popularity, they must be doing something right. While I understand and respect the site owners of MER to attempt to generate new income sources, I believe the suggested pricing structure would be detrimental to further site growth, and having read the other thread, actually LOSE loyal, faithful members. I like and wholeheartedly support a site like this where clients can share reviews, advice, tips, and shoot the breeze in the forum. It is also cool that escorts can use this site to list travel plans, comment on topics, or have the chance to defend and possibly rectify a negative review. It is with this in mind that I post this rather long winded scroll...in hopes that the MER site owners would go back to the drawing board with regard to the pricing structure plans. I know of several other clients (and some escorts) who *like* what they have seen how MER is laid out and run, and they may well jump from lurker status to member, to possibly paying member...but probably not with the new suggested pricing strcuture. I sincerely hope the site owners of MER take my first post here in the spirit that it was intended: Helpful constructive input. And i do have a few reviews, stories, thoughts of my own to share as well ! Now that I've taken this step, I move yet one step closer to the intriguing experience that is Scott Adler! It is not uncommon in a journey that arrival at the final desitination occurs only after a misstep or two along the way. So it is with us. This faux pas was part of some last minute software changes we are implmenting for the December 15th event. We listened to members and we responded to some suggestions. We are implementing some modifications to our Subscription Service regarding fixed length nonrecurring memberships and profile photos. We haven't changed our direction. We have modified some specifics. We do not expect to please everyone. We may not please anyone. Nevertheless, we listened and there will be a few more options. Mistakenly, our programmers set permssions to require membership and login to view profiles. This was a MISTAKE arising from confused communications between management and the tech team. As soon as I discovered this change I alerted our software team to return our software to the correct permissions. As of this post it still has not been properly reset. For that I apologize. Our tech team is several time zones distant so there is some lag in request/response time. It should be reset by tomorrow morning. Let me restate as clearly as I can... All visitors and all members (whether logged in or not) have access to all reviews, profiles and read access to the message boards. All logged in members have post access to the message boards unless that privilege has been revoked on an individual basis. These will NOT change and no Upgrade is required. I apologize for the inconvenience of making you register to view profiles. We get no benefit from that requirement business-wise or mission-wise. We remain dedicated to providing FREE useful information about escorts and escorting to all who visit regardless of visitor/membership status. I hope this clears up the situation. Despite TY's efforts to explain, there seems still to be a fair amount of misunderstanding about what exactly non-payers will find when they try to access this site starting Dec 15. I enjoyed it and participated often and even got into some heated exchanges. The one I remember the most was over tips to sauna boys in Brazil. I was seen as a devil to many posters in the South America forum and was even shunned when I showed up at a local restaurant in Rio. LOL I learned that many don't agree with me on the issue and no need to discuss my tips with anyone. My business and no one else's. I always give suggestions but not everyone will agree. Hehe..timing, timing,timing- the stars aligned up just right for us, folks. Had the unique pleasure to see Scott this weekend - I'm still blissfully recovering! The GAYVN Rentboy pre-party at the Endup was off the hook- thanks in large part to Scott being such a great date! Thanks to Scott for introducing me to soooo many cute, nice guys, my ATM has entered the Witness Protection Program! Oh, and as a super-duper bonus, i got to meet Townie! What some of you already know I got to find out (when bunches of hot boyz weren't checking im with him!): A truly nice guy, charming and very comforting to be around- even my BF was wowed by Townie..we very much look forward to getting to know him more and spending quality time (he may now even be my de-facto mentor!)
