Guest tomcal Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 In the past year I have been to Barcelona, Prague, Montreal, Ft. Lauderdale and Brazil(Rio, Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre). Trying to rate them from my favorite to least favorite( I liked them all but have to put them in some ranking) based on Quality and Quantity of guys available, Cost, the metro area they are in and type of facilities that the guys worked in. Taking into account my bias towards Brazil although I am giving one Brazilian city last place... IMHO, and I know this will differ with each of us, it would be the following order: 1) Rio 2) Porto Alegre 3) Barcelona 4) Prague 5) Montreal 6) Ft. Lauderdale 7) Sao Paulo Rio wins hands down for the Number of guys working , the number of "rentboy" saunas, 5 at last count each with anywhere from 15 to 50 guys working, the quality and importantly the cost! $50R = approx. $22, U.S. I usually go 4 times a year and every visit there are new faces and the fun never changes or decreases! The beach, unlimited great restaurants to eat at, make Rio a top pick. The "con" side is that it's a long plane ride, 8-1/2 hours from Miami. Porto Alegre in far south Brazil. Same reasons as Rio, but even longer plane ride and only two saunas, neither with the quantity of the Rio saunas, usually 10 to 15 guys working. But... many German, Italian, Polish guys whose families came after WWII. You will find Blonde Brazilians here. It also has a great hustler/rentboy bar that opens at midnight on the weekends and gets packed! Definitely my favorite bar in the world to go have drinks and pick out a overnight guest! Also cost is less here, $40R or $18. U.S. per encounter Barcelona's Thermas Sauna is fun, cost is moderate - $40 euros, down side is it's small rooms with single beds and no shower in the room. But most guys are more than willing to come back to your hotel. Barcelona is on fun city on Spain's mediterranean coast and a great place to visit. There are alot of guys off of the Spanish Escort site but both there and in Thermas sauna, the majority are Brazilian! I would guess close to 75% working at Thermas were from either Rio or Sao Paulo. I actually ran into three guys I knew from Rio in Thermas Sauna in my first 15 minutes there! Prague, when I was there this past year I was with a friend who knew it well and we had a great weekend, several posters have commented on it in the European section on here. we actually picked up more guys at the train station in town than at Club Temple which did seem to have more customers than working guys. But Monty's in spite of it's small size had guys dropping in all the time seeing who was there and we met several very hot guys there in the middle of the afternoon and took them back to the hotel. Cost was $1500. Czk or about $85. U.S. they usually stayed about 2 hours. The Strip club Escape was fun but the guys working there are not available until after 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. and wanted more than double, $4,000.Czk than any other guys we met at the other clubs. There are many hotels to pick from, we had one that was fairly new, really nice and only about 8 blocks from Monty's and Temple bars. Montreal, Hot guys no doubt! the guys on this site who go there regularly can give a much better review of their experiences than I can. I went twice this past year. I found the guys to be less "interactive" and more costly, being on par with American cities. But being able to sit and see them naked on stage gives Montreal bonus points! There were several guys that were really alot of fun and I am definitely going back. I would tell them they needed to be naked by the middle of the first song, skip the gyrating lapdance portion and get to the good stuff! most would smile and had no problem! Ft. Lauderdale. The boardwalk hold special memories for me as it was the first bar of this type that I had ever gone to, 1997 and the first bar I ever saw a naked hard guy, technically illegal even than but he was standing between my legs at the bar! lol I went there many times over the last 12 years both old and new locations. I brought guys back to the hotel every night on the two trips down there this year, cost was $200 - 250. Sao Paulo, The Pro's - it has two rentboy saunas, a third just closed. it has the largest sauna, Lagoa which has a indoor pool and on busy night there will be 50+ guys working. BUT I find the guys here are "pushier" than the other saunas in Brazil and typically ask for more, usually $100R. I like Fragata sauna better than Lagoa. Sao Paulo is I think the 2nd or 3rd largest city in the world, it looks like 20 NYC's put together. Cabs are expensive to get anywhere and everything is spread out. From Lagoa sauna to the International airport is a $150R cab ride. They do have a good metro/subway system, but first timeers might find this intimidating. I have also been to the cities that you list, except for Porto Allegre, and your report just makes me realize that I have to go there!!!! Blond Brazilians, a rentboy bar, who can ask for more???? I would generally agree with your evaluations except that I think I enjoy Sao Paulo more than Ft. Lauderdale (but you admitted that you had emotional ties to Florida). Similarly I would rank Montreal higher on the list too because of my emotional ties to that place as well. I have many friends there, and that adds a LOT of value to a visit there. In general though, all of the cities that you included are truly fun times/good memories. Now I need to haul myself off to Southern Brazil!!!! Bangkok 3. Sao Paulo 4. Rio 5. Barcelona 6. Montreal 7. Prague Pattaya is the most hookers in one spot on the planet. You can pick them up at the mall, walking down the street or while they are working at a 5 star hotel. The city is just covered with money boys. Bangkok is full of some of the most amazing boys but with a lot of wonderful shopping experiences and fun places to go. I put Sao Paulo over Rio mainly because I have more friends in Sao Paulo and it is more comfortable for me. I guess if I ever made good friends in Rio, I may put it higher on the list. I love Montreal and when I was in NYC, it was a monthly trip and loved it there. I have to get back soon. I have never been to the south of Brazil but you have convinced me to go. Thanks. Guest tomcal Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 A few facts about The Bar in Porto Alegre. It is called Era Uma Vez. Ave Brasil 132, It's only open on weekends. When u get to the door the security staff will hand you a piece of paper with your name on it. All your charges for the night will be put on here and when u pay it is stamped and you hand it to the security guard to get out! don't lose it! :-) When you enter you are in a Interior court yard with about a dozen Plastic tables and chairs and than another doorway leading to the bar/dance floor. It doesn't really start filling up until after midnight, but I tend to get there around 11:30 so I can get a position at one of the first tables in the courtyard. This gives you great viewing of everyone as they enter. I should point out that most guys here will be 18 - 22 and more of the twink type, very few muscle guys(which is also typical of the saunas in P.A.) So if you are in to body builders I would pass! This is a local bar, so chance are you will be the only foreigner there. I found this to be an advantage! Everyone is very friendly and they have the cutest waiters anywhere in Brazil! My first time there a little over three years ago, I sat down and within about 2 minutes two guys sat down at my table and a guy in his 40's came over and said "Hi I am the English teacher at the local highschool and I heard u speak to the waiter and knew you must be American"! He than said that these two guys had both been his students the previous year and had graduated and would like to know if I wanted to do a programma with them! I said "are they 18?" and he said yes. and I did my first 3 way at Era Uma Vez! I should mention that this bar has 4 rooms upstairs above the bar that you can rent for 1/2 hour. You give your slip of paper to the drag queen at the top of the stairs and she marks down the charge which I think is 25R and gives you a key to the room. The rooms are very basic...that's a understatement, but they do have a shower attached and if you can't or don't want to take the guys back to the hotel it's a good alternative. by 1:00 - 1:30 a.m. the place will be packed! I will try and attach a couple of pics of guys from my last trip there. I am going back in March so I will update if there have been changes. One other point. I find that if you don't speak Portuguese, using a receipe card with the address written in black magic marker to hand the taxi drivers saves alot of headaches, anywhere in Brazil! My pronunciation of Portuguese names is evidently terrible and the taxi drivers have a hard time understanting me. Names arn't usually important but the address written clearly or a copy of the map downloaded from the internet helps especially with the saunas and bars in P.A. In Rio when I go to Meo Mundo which is in the downtown part of Rio, and on a little street that alot of drivers don't seem to know, I write "proximo Candelaria Iglesia" which means near the church and than they have no problem. Your Welcome!! :-) the 4th , 5th and 6th pics were taken in the outdoor courtyard at Era Uma Vez. I will be back there the last weekend in March and can't wait. I should add that Porto Alegre is about an hour by air from Buenos Aires and about 1-1/2hrs. from Sao Paulo. Hot summers, Hight 90's and cool winters.. best time to go is March to May and Oct - Nov. but than again I don't spend that much time outside there except when I am at Era Vez at midnight!! LOL, Yes I did see all of them w/o clothes! the guy sitting down in the yellow chair with the cap and jacket on, was the brother of a guy I had been with at the sauna earlier that evening, when I got to Era Uma Vez, he was there with his younger brother and introduced us. In the post over in the Latin American section on here I mentioned how attitudes towards sex are very different in Brazil. Brothers/cousins etc work in the saunas together. I go regularly to Barcelona and as a matter of fact, many boys are brasilians, but there are all nationalities there, including boys from Eastern Europe, Spain of course, Northern Africa, etc. Speaking Portuguese or Spanish does help of course. I also go to Madrid, where there is only one sauna for rentboys (Adan Sauna). Many boys also from Brazil, but also many from Eastern Europe. I was also in Curitiba in 2005 but just for a couple of days.
