Anyone planning on Philippines in 2026?
Travellerdave replied to Olddaddy's topic in Gay Philippines
I’ve been trekking in Nepal - wonderful experience in the high mountains. Companionship in lonely tea houses eating mainly fried potatoes and eggs. Did it twice but need to get much fitter to do it again even with porters carrying our gear. Kathmandu like a mini Bkk but no gay bars I’m afraid. I forgot the boys whilst on the trails. Everything cheap but BASIC. -
How did you find the Zing Resort. I’ve stayed there a few times . No problem with boys overnight. Very gay friendly

Interesting that this thread has touched on the subject of gay nude beaches. I myself spent several holidays in the resort of Maspalomas on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria during the years 1995 to 1999, before I and a companion discovered Thailand and Asian boys as my favourite gay destination in year 2000. Maspalomas (and I’m told still has ) a vibrant night-life centered on the Yumbo Centre. Flights from the UK taking around 4 hours including accommodation there could be had for around £300, The beach is magnificent, long with large Atlantic waves, warm sea, and backed by a large expanse of sand dunes. During the day gay men (no women) congregated naked around one particular beach section which had chairs and the usual beach facilities, where we cultivated tans and socialised with other vacationers from all over the world. This occasionally developed into flirting and even a “walk” in the dunes, although sometimes you had to beware of the cops, patrolling looking for gays going too far. I don’t remember any commercial sex.

Thinking about YouTube, Pattaya videos started to appear maybe about 10 years ago, but it’s only in the last couple of years that they started featuring the areas favoured by gays like myself ie The Complex, BT and maybe the Dongtan gay Beach. I’ve watched a couple of these taken when I was resident in the subject area, but I don’t appear. I wouldn’t be concerned unless I was featured taking part in activity featuring myself in close intimate proximity with younger boys, but movie makers thankfully seem to avoid this sort of activity. If somebody back home did show me one of these I would be highly embarrassed.

First time Pattaya, I need your thoughts and recommendations
Travellerdave replied to traveltom's topic in Gay Pattaya
You mention the Jomtien Palm Beach Resort. I stayed there last January for 4 nights when my preferred hotel in the Complex, the Agate was full when I arrived with no reservation, but could offer me a room for the rest of my trip. The Palm Beach is a huge place with impressive facilities , including indoor bowling. I checked on arrival and was told that there would be no problem with me having boy joiners in my room, but it seemed to have mainly Chinese tour party guests, so I would not recommend it for gay single men like you and me. I transferred to the Agate after the 4 nights. -
Yes I’ve taken the cheap option of the baht bus, normally from the bus rank at he junction of second road / south pattaya road to virtually outside the Complex. But this often involves waiting at busy times while the baht bus fills up. Not good when you have a hot boy with you !

Over the years during my stays in the Complex, I’ve brought boys back to my hotel (mostly Zing) without problem. For recent visits it’s been Bolt Taxi, but in the past I’ve used motor bike taxis or a rented bike. When Sunee was a popular gay area there was always a waiting bike taxi outside Winner. Not sure I would ride pillion on a boy’s bike ! It would be great if Winner survives and prospers, I loved that Gogo, but that’s another story.
-
My experience was the same, but it’s at a distance from BT and the Complex. I hired a motor bike when I stayed there. Occasionally boys weren’t keen to go there because of that problem.

The first time I visited tte Sansuck (nearly 20 years ago)I got a tour of the place by the owner, who I think was called Punya, when I had a few questions at reception. He took me around including the guest house. I was much better looking in those days and he started to feel my cock, but I was more interested to see what was going on by the pool and the upper floors. I had lots of fun on that occasion and subsequent visits, twice staying in the guest house, but I’ve not been there for about 2 years. I would be interested in an up to date report.

Nice to see two new bars open in the Complex both with a complement of boys and customers. I’m looking forward to a January/February visit when I’ll be able to check them out. The Complex continues to cement its position as the premier night time vunue for gay men, particularly those like me who enjoy Asian boys.

Nepalese boys in Pattaya ?. My only interaction with Nepalese was 15 years ago when I was part of a 2 week trekking holiday into the high mountains. They carried our bags and generally looked after us on the trail. Tough friendly young guys .
-
I believe that the Complex Hotels don’t have much availability in the run up to Christmas. I’ve got thoughts about being there during late January . Have any Cambodian boys returned ?
-
Yes Rob, I would have been anticipating sex and speculating as to the forthcoming experience. I think it would be rather different from my activities with the Laos boys i offed from the Complex bars.

I had a long chat with an older Thai guy when I was seated in a gay section of the Dongtan Beach. During my 18 day stay at the Agate in the Complex I made regular early afternoon visits to the Jomtien Gym on Beach Road and afterwards walking each time to a particular section arriving about 3pm to spend a couple of hours relaxing, sometimes reading and on a couple of occasions chatting to other farangs. On this occasion there were few customers and by 4:30 I was nearly on my own and had dozed off. When I opened my eyes I spotted an 40’s Asian guy stood near the sea. He was rather good looking - slim, brown and rather wiry and was dressed in loose briefs. He saw me looking at him and started strolling slowly along the waters edge but then deviated away from the sea and turned to take a path up the line of chairs to where I was seated, taking uninvited the next one. The section boss appeared but I said “no problem”. We chatted for about 20 minutes cumulating in a proposal from him for us to return to my hotel for sex, mentioning he was versatile and indicating his erect cock under his briefs. Discretion took the better of me and I declined. He just got up and walked away to an adjoining section leaving me to settle my bill and walk back to the Complex, wondering what would have transpired.

The “indoor swimming pool” consists of what could be described as a large bathtub, through which flows a pumped stream of water, against which you can swim. I found this quite amusing but my 2 night boy refused to join me in the water. I stayed there just before Covid - it was fine, but I can’t remember using the restaurent. It was 100% gay.
-
I’ve stayed at the Sansuck several times but not since Covid. An attraction was that staying there included admittance to the gay sauna of which, like Olddaddy, I took full advantage. However there are no recent descriptions of this facility on this site. The rooms were fine but the place is rather far (well over a mile) from “the action” in the Complex with an uphill walk to the main road where using the baht buses was sometimes difficult (often full) i had Zombie’s problem last January with the Complex hotels not having availability. I easily found a room in the Jomtien Palm Beach Resort which is the big hotel nearby on the beach. I asked about joiners mentioning that for me they would be boys and the reception replied “no problem”. After a good week there I did eventually find availability at the Agate on Expedia for the rest of my stay. Maybe the Palm Beach is worth considering.

Vinapu’s brief advice is spot on. I would be surprised if the Agate is fully booked. It’s a lot larger than its outside appearance would suggest and during my stay there in August I sometimes got the impression that it was 90% empty. Perhaps try a direct reservation by email or telephone if rooms are not available on the platforms.
-
I very much agree with Vinapu that things have changed, certainly since I made my first trip to Thailand in 2000. Then you were very much more likely to get harassment from a minority of aggressive straights whilst out and about with younger Thai men. I still am wary of taking boys around the Soi Buakhow area in Pattaya. You occasionally see women in bikinis sat in gay sections of the Dongtan Beach presumably for the same reason Vinapu mentions.

The Complex today differs from Sunee of a few years ago in another way and that concerns str tourists. You never saw them in Sunee which was overwhelmingly a ghetto for gay men looking for sex with Asian boys. The Complex on the other hand is mixed particularly in the hotels. I’ve stayed this year twice in the Agate and once in the Zing and in both the guests were a mixture of gays like myself and str families/couples , whereas that was definitely not the case in the one hotel I used intermittently in Sunee. I have been occasionally conscious of stares and glances from strs when in the lobby/lift/restaurent and round the pools when I have a boy in tow. This does bother me at all, but from the point of view of strs, I wonder if they are misled by the reports by guests on Booking.com etc where there is hardly a mention of the orientation of the Complex and it’s bars and hotels.

About what year would that Be ? It obviously features the Complex quite a long time ago showing the Ganymede Spa and Massage which has been the Agate Hotel for some time. Just noticed that one of the bars advertises a Songkran party in 2014 so not that long ago. During 2014 Sunee was still going strong but starting to decline. But of course Boyztown was very much the gay place to be then

Hi Londoner
just to say that I really related to your recent two posts under the heading “first time Pattaya Report” which had deviated towards comments about the calling out by the massage boys outside the building next to the Agate, where the two of us have staged.
i like you am an older gay man who loves the interaction with Asian boys and staying in the Agate within the Complex. Should you have plans for another visit perhaps you could let me know with a view to meeting if our dates co-incide.
-
I’ve stayed at the Agate three times this year so can very much relate to emiel1981’s complaint about the massage boys and their calling out whilst you are walking past their nearby location. However I would not call this stalking rather just a nuisance and something you have to put up with whilst staying in a popular gay area and I wouldn’t base my choice of hotel on that basis. Having said that I admit to having used the passage to the main road when conducting a boy back to the Agate from a visit with him to the beach. I didn’t want a non-English call out perhaps relating to a massage I had had the previous day.
-
Thinking back to Sunee in the early 2000’s when I was a regular visiter I very much remember Krazy Dragon and Eros but not Goodboys. For a while my favourite Gogo was Euro Boys where the boys danced in briefs between two lines of elevated seating holding ropes dangling from the ceiling. During a couple of trips I stayed in a hotel within the Plaza named “Elephant” or something like that. This avoided the walk back to Boyztown which offed boys did not care for and had rooms for short time.

Great enjoyable account of your 3 day visit to Bkk which I loved reading. My last three trips have been to Pattaya, latterly staying in the Complex, so I’m planning to make my next one to Bkk, so your story of sex/massage, gym exercise, food and the night market is very relavent for me. All the activities I enjoy in fact !. Grindr seems to have been a fruitful source of mb’s. Have an equally good time in Taiwan.

Happy Boys Yes I seem to remember this boy bar, particularly the mezzanine floor, where you could go to be entertained if the ground floor was not raunchy enough for you. It was in fact a short distance outsides Sunee using what could be regarded as the “back entrance” to the plaza on maybe Soi 18. It looked from the outside more like a shop rather than a Gogo. I don’t think I visited more than a couple of times and I’m sure I never offed from there. I can’t pinpoint when in closed but it probably did so when Sunee had not started it’s decline.
