Yes the Gus boys put on a great show every evening in Supertown / The Complex which I attend and enjoy. They are a group of lads mostly from Laos who have improved their show of vigorous dancing which attracts a good audience comprising residents as mentioned by kokopelli3 some from Agate and the Venue. They dance in cute white shorts without tops, and are very much in the twink category. The dancers are supplemented by a number of non-dancing bar boys who circulate amongst the audience and sit with them looking for boy drinks and offs.

I recon you could rent somewhere in the Complex, particularly on a weekday night. Things are very quiet just now. Maybe even in Boystown where it is even quieter

I’ve heard mention of sniff kisses, but have no intention of trying unlike tongue kissing which I really enjoy, especially during Anal. You never know how the boy will react until you try.

Well there is no other options in Sunee now Or maybe I’m wrong. If I had navigated the dark and unfriendly sois to get there I might give the place a try.

A few years ago i took the train from bkk to Hua Hin with a gay friend and our two boyfriends. One thing I remember was our visit to a temple populated by monkeys who swarmed all over us. I thought the huge beach was superior to that at Jomtien and good for jogging which I was into at the time. However during our two night stay I saw no gay bars or any other guys with Asian boys. It would now be a lengthy journey by road from Pattaya.

I spend the majority of my Thailand 2/3 week trips in Pattaya and in recent years I’ve stayed within Jomtien Supertown (The Complex), which has now deposed Boystown as the premier gay area. The Agate would be a good choice and it’s becoming more popular so don’t wait too long before making your reservation. Its main competitor, in Supertown, is the Zing Resort which is cheaper and has a variety of room sizes and a larger pool . Both are guest friendly and well known to the bar boys and as a single gay guest I’ve occasionally found friends amongst the other residents. Supertown is walking distance from the Jomtien airport bus terminal which can be also convenient for transport to Bangkok city . I prefer the bus to taxis for safety reasons, and only use motor cycle taxis when speed is required and would not rent a motor cycle which I used to do years ago. Always have safety in the forefront of your mind especially in unfamiliar settings !

I’m contemplating a two week trip in early August. From what I’ve read and seen on YouTube about Pattaya it would seem that the lowest of low seasons is in progress with the bar areas resembling western ghost towns with tumbleweed blowing about and the roads flooded. Now we have this report about Khmer boys not coming due to political tensions. Im hoping this is all an exagération and that gay tourists like myself will find substitutes in boys from Myanmar and Vietnam, arriving and filling the bars and listing on GrindR otherwise I’ll defer for a few months.

This thread takes me back to my early visits to Pattaya in year 2000 to 2002 as a gay sex tourist. it was early days for mobile phones and for the boys the possession of one was a huge status symbol and could transform their daily lives. Communication for them often meant using phone boxes and internet cafes. I remember several boys asking me to buy them one even though I had offed them only couple of times. My refusal always brought on “the sulks”

In addition to the Zing Resort and Agate there are at least three other hotels in Supertown (The Complex), all of which are popular with gay guests with no problems with joiners. I once stayed at the Poseidon, which seemed to be 100% gay and having a Very good restaurent .

The Zing Resort in the Jomtien Complex (Supertown) has a larger pool compared with the small size of both at the Agate. Both are favoured by gay guests and there is no problem with joiners, including sitting with them around the pool. The rooms at Agate are very good for their price, but that’s only my opinion.

Great Reports Jason ! Your boyfriend should be commended for maintaining his regular job at the same time as accompanying yourself The last time I had a guy who could be described as a boyfriend, within days he left his job in a,laundry and proceeded to rely on me for his income. I was interested in the information about your Ibis Styles hotel with a number of gay guests.

The Ideal GoGo Bar. What Would Be Your Recipe For Success?
Travellerdave replied to PeterRS's topic in Gay Thailand
I don’t think that gay venues are effectively marketed. Last year I was travelling by bus from Swampy to Pattaya and was allocated a seat next to another single male passenger. After a little general chat he said it was his first time in Thailand and asked me what night life I visited to which I replied that I was gay and that I based myself in the Jomtien Complex with its bars and gay friendly hotels. He surprised me by stating that he was also gay (of the closet variety) and It emerged that he had little idea of the scene in Pattaya (in particular gogos and Asian boys) only that it was gay friendly I didn’t response to his invitation to meet up as I didn’t want to act as his guide and left him at the bus station to find his own way to his hotel reservation. -
I offed one of the dancers from the chairs outside the Best Bar. But when I returned in the early evening of the following night and asked him I could bf him once again, he replied “Cannot Have Show” . There was no indoor show in the bar the first night so I took it that he didn’t want to be offed when required to take part in the performance.

Good information from Vinapu (the essentials) and bkkmfj2648. There is fast transport between the two areas Boystown and the Jomtien Complex/Supertown. Easy to visit both in the same evening. I now prefer to base myself in the latter which is in my opinion, all considered, the premier gay resort location in the Pattaya area.

Interesting - Tunisia is a lot closer for me than Thailand. Having met a young guy, can you take him back to your hotel ? . Sleep with him ?

Before discovering Thailand as a gay holiday destination 25 years ago I used to travel to Spanish resorts with a couple of pals eventually settling on Playa del Ingles on the island of Gran Canaria for its vibrant night life and gay/nude section on Maspalomas beach. I never paid for sex - we just socialised with guys from all parts of the world and it just happened (sometimes in the dunes keeping an eye open for the cops) That changed when we were recommended to try Thailand in particular pattaya where everything was low priced with the U.K. pound buying 70 baht and delicious Thai boys available all night for 1000. I never went back to Playa del Ingles !. I must have spent a fortune on Asian boys since as a gay sex tourist - but its been a great investment, especially as I’m no longer young and not attractive now

Yes I too regret the decline in the gay Gogo scene in Pattaya. When I first visited Pattaya in year 2000 there was dozens to be found in Boyztown and Sunee. If must be down to a decline in gay visitors because there are numerous gogos to be found especially in Walking Street and Lkmetro catering for str’s . On a positive note there is more skin on display by boys during the Complex shows.
-
Trimmed for me if they have a brown or tanned skin. I love the latter when they have tan-lines.

Having made numerous one stop flights from,U.K. to Bkk I have found that it is worth paying a little extra (about £200) and choosing Emirates who have highly reliable flights with convient times and a minimum of transit time in Dubai. Also the meals and seat back entertainment are pretty good even in economy. If that amount is an issue for you maybe you should not be travelling half way across the globe. I cannot justify the substantial premium flying business class involves even when I can afford it, to avoid about 12 hours of mild discomfort sitting in economy.

My experience of boy tips pretty well echos that of Vessey who has made three posts in this thread . The purpose for me in visiting gogos, bars and cabarets (mostly in the Complex recently) is to engage an attractive boy or very occasionally two boys for longtime activities in my room. If I off the boy I would not usually tip him in addition to buying boy drinks. No off it would depend on how intimate the encounter had been. In a Gogo, such as Winner, if I had my hands on his cock or tongue kissed the tip would be 200+, whereas in a Complex bar , minus cock play 100+. I’m not an expat rather a gay sex tourist, and visit Pattaya for only 3 weeks at a time, I believe I’m generous, and sometimes throw caution to the wind when it comes to boys and money, spoiling them for long term residents perhaps.

Xpaulo - thanks for your contribution. I’ve been wondering about making a short visit to Morocco. It’s much easier to go there from my base in England. Would you recommend it for gay tourists wanting some sex in addition to general tourism ?. Perhaps you could message me with any advice. The African boy I had last year from Grindr did not mention any particular bars where he and his pretend-student friends met in Pattaya but two of them did visit him briefly when I was with him on the beach.
-
I posted my experience with an 20 year old African boy during my August 2024 trip to Pattaya. I found him on Grindr and had him for 3 nights and two days. He was a French speaker from Mozambique and was on a student visa, although he admitted that his attendance at classes was minimal or non existant . He had several friends on the same viva status (see picture) and was fairly tall with a brown toned slim body. A real contrast to the twinks I found in the Complex who were the other occupants of my bed during my stay. I estimate that he cost me about 12,000 baht all told, which included speedos to wear on the gay beach where we spent two afternoons. He was a good versatile performer with a cock which was the best I came across during the 3 weeks of my stay. During my next trip I search Grindr for him without success, so maybe him and his pretend students have lost their visas .

Your description of busy Pattaya and Jomtien was what I found during my 3 weeks the end of January / early February. Then the explanation was the Chinese New Year with hotels full of families celebrating their principle festival. I had assumed that I could find a room in either of the two most popular Complex gay orientated hotels Zing or Agate . That assumption proved wrong and I had to take one or the 500 rooms for a week in the huge Jomtien Resort, which despite whilst being excellent with impressive facilities is not the sort of lodging I gravitate to, before I was able to move to the Agate. It would seem that in high season there is always some sort of festival in progress crowding out us gay visitors from our 9 months a year favourite Oasis’. I suppose the obvious answer is to book well ahead .
