  1. Sawat talks of Some of the difficulties and awkwardness he experienced in the gay bars of the Jomtien Complex. These would be different in a visit to a “traditional gogo” where the boys dancing are somewhat separate from the audience and and wear very little, making it easier to appraise them for an off. When I first visited Pattaya gogos were the main source of boys for my bed but unfortunately they do not exist in that format in the Complex.
  2. I visited Pattaya nearly 20 years ago the second time and it was my first and only experience of Songcran. I had no idea of what was involved. I had only two weeks available from my work and looked forward to sex with boys and more boys. Instead a good proportion of my stay was wiped out by the 24 hour days of crazyness and wetness Never Again !
  3. Hi Wolfer Yes you are right that that the trip would have been better if I had been there with a partner or group. However these days all my gay friends are wedded to holidays in SE Asia, mainly Thailand and nobody wanted to go to Maspalomas with me. However I did socialise with a couple of guys from France who were staying in the hotel, where there was a pleasant pool with a nude area which encouraged this. i didn’t visit Las Palmas which from your description was a pity.
  4. 20 years ago, Sunee maybe would have been a good location for a gay orientated shop, How things have changed !. There was such a shop in the Complex up to a few years ago, and I recall making the occasional purchase. I hope the new one succeeds, reinforcing the Complex’s attractions.
  5. I’ve just spent a few days in Maspalomas on the Spanish Island of Gran Canaria. As a gay European holiday destination it would be hard to beat. I stayed in a gays only hotel near the nightlife Yumbo Centre, which was expensive for only moderate quality accommodation, but my airfares from the UK were cheap. The big daytime attraction is the extensive beach, backed by an area of sand dunes and rough bushes, with a gay section near the waters edge. The last time I went there was in Year 2000 during which I discovered Thailand, but in view of the current airline/international problem I think it likely I will be visiting Maspalomas again, as I very much enjoyed the weather and the ambience, although sex in the dunes is a now no-no unlike in year 2000.
  6. I had a similar situation in that all the Complex gay friendly hotels were fully booked in January 2025 for most of my trip. As part of the solution I had 6 nights at the Jomtien Palm Beach Resort which is the large tall hotel only a short distance from the Complex where Thrap pra Road meets Beach Road. Before checking in I asked about joiners, and mentioned that in my case they would be male. I was assured with a “boys ok” and made good use of this facility There is a rear entrance from Jomtien 2nd Road. The room was fine and quiet and I liked the huge swimming pool.
  7. Some good information on Prep on this thread, particularly that provided by MauRICE. I’ve consulted my doctor at home ever since the availability of HIV protection. He advises condom protection and sometimes likes the information I can give about the gay scene in SE Asia. He is aware of other non-consulting single patients, str and gay, going there when replying to insurance enquiries etc, and wonders what they get up to. I have to admit that I have dispensed with condoms unless they are requested by my partner.
  8. You have got me with that one spoon. I’m not clever enough to think it through. Perhaps I should try AI
  9. Ladyboys mean nothing to me. Guys who fuck ladyboys think they are not gay !
  10. Reminds me of when I was staying at the Classroom hôtel/bar on the edge of BT a couple of years ago. The main entrance to the lift and rooms is through the bar, where, virtually in resident are to be found a ground of elderly expat farangs . After taking boys that way to my room I discovered a door leading directly to the lift lobby which I found a more suitable route when accompanied boy-wise. One night entering that way and whilst standing in the lift lobby with boy, we were joined by a younger guy and a very pretty girl wearing not a lot. He was obviously interested in me+boy and commented “not a bad place” to which I replied “serves its purpose”. The small lift arrived and we four got in with the girl keeping as far as possible away from me. I nearly said “don’t worry I’m gay”, but I didn’t, and the doors opened and the two couples departed to rooms with the guy giving me a smiling “good night.”
  11. Yes Keith I realised it was a joke, but perhaps some of the readership aren’t as smart as me !
  12. I love gay sexual practices but i dont like describing them to str’s
  13. We always have to remember that what we do is sometimes repulsive to many str. I’m sometimes not confortable in hotels with boys surrounded by str couples and families. I’ve had str men ask me about gay sexual practices - which I don’t,like and don’t describe in detail.
  14. Soi Buakhow ? I seldom go there, especially not with boys. It’s full of Brit/Aussie yobs getting drunk,on 40 baht beer, starting at 8am. No gayest bars at all. the Complex is the place to be for gays like me. ive also stayed a few times at the Agate. Their rooms are perhaps nicer than those at the Zing but I don’t get on with their breakfasts, which are too Thai dish orientated.
  15. Yes Kram it is the cool season in Thailand. it’s my hotel of choice because it’s mostly gay this time of year. Always someone to talk to. Good breakfast/
  16. YouTube ? Channel ? Nope! thanks for the info
  17. Returning to the subject of this thread -The Philippines of which my knowledge is very sketchy. Which location would be best from the point of view of the gay scene and most importantly availability of boys ? I rather like the idea of a beach resort with quality accommodation. I have heard mention of Davao and Cebu meeting my specification.
  18. I’ve been trekking in Nepal - wonderful experience in the high mountains. Companionship in lonely tea houses eating mainly fried potatoes and eggs. Did it twice but need to get much fitter to do it again even with porters carrying our gear. Kathmandu like a mini Bkk but no gay bars I’m afraid. I forgot the boys whilst on the trails. Everything cheap but BASIC.
  19. How did you find the Zing Resort. I’ve stayed there a few times . No problem with boys overnight. Very gay friendly
  20. Interesting that this thread has touched on the subject of gay nude beaches. I myself spent several holidays in the resort of Maspalomas on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria during the years 1995 to 1999, before I and a companion discovered Thailand and Asian boys as my favourite gay destination in year 2000. Maspalomas (and I’m told still has ) a vibrant night-life centered on the Yumbo Centre. Flights from the UK taking around 4 hours including accommodation there could be had for around £300, The beach is magnificent, long with large Atlantic waves, warm sea, and backed by a large expanse of sand dunes. During the day gay men (no women) congregated naked around one particular beach section which had chairs and the usual beach facilities, where we cultivated tans and socialised with other vacationers from all over the world. This occasionally developed into flirting and even a “walk” in the dunes, although sometimes you had to beware of the cops, patrolling looking for gays going too far. I don’t remember any commercial sex.
  21. Thinking about YouTube, Pattaya videos started to appear maybe about 10 years ago, but it’s only in the last couple of years that they started featuring the areas favoured by gays like myself ie The Complex, BT and maybe the Dongtan gay Beach. I’ve watched a couple of these taken when I was resident in the subject area, but I don’t appear. I wouldn’t be concerned unless I was featured taking part in activity featuring myself in close intimate proximity with younger boys, but movie makers thankfully seem to avoid this sort of activity. If somebody back home did show me one of these I would be highly embarrassed.
  22. You mention the Jomtien Palm Beach Resort. I stayed there last January for 4 nights when my preferred hotel in the Complex, the Agate was full when I arrived with no reservation, but could offer me a room for the rest of my trip. The Palm Beach is a huge place with impressive facilities , including indoor bowling. I checked on arrival and was told that there would be no problem with me having boy joiners in my room, but it seemed to have mainly Chinese tour party guests, so I would not recommend it for gay single men like you and me. I transferred to the Agate after the 4 nights.
  23. Yes I’ve taken the cheap option of the baht bus, normally from the bus rank at he junction of second road / south pattaya road to virtually outside the Complex. But this often involves waiting at busy times while the baht bus fills up. Not good when you have a hot boy with you !
  24. Over the years during my stays in the Complex, I’ve brought boys back to my hotel (mostly Zing) without problem. For recent visits it’s been Bolt Taxi, but in the past I’ve used motor bike taxis or a rented bike. When Sunee was a popular gay area there was always a waiting bike taxi outside Winner. Not sure I would ride pillion on a boy’s bike ! It would be great if Winner survives and prospers, I loved that Gogo, but that’s another story.
