  1. Copa maid had offered so nicely but I had earlier declined as I imagined her hand washing my underwear, etc I spotted they had a washing machine upstairs for bed sheets so I finally relented. Six dress shirts shorts and socks (shirts ironed) and she was thrilled when her “up to you” got her 1000 baht on company time.
  2. The surprise was that on Feb 23 at midnight the bars would close. Bars are getting to open in minutes here at midnight. Another surprise Serene is only beer bar open on the Soi. PACKED Missing a sweet waiter from 1 1/2 years ago here ( recurring theme )
  3. Sad and boring?
  4. Wow you really do have a sad life. I am sorry
  5. Now that I tipped reception on the holiday - I doubt if they will be more competent
  6. Some of us have better things to do. Some don’t. Good for YOU. I did double the tip to the hotel maid and tipped reception today, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered to respond.
  7. Any laundries around Boystown? Remember seeing one at Supertown in Jomtien…
  8. THAT’S why I searched the internet and didn’t find a holiday for Feb 24. https://sawatdeenetwork.com/v4/showthread.php?23115-Thai-public-holidays-in-2024-(B-E-2567) That site has it listed next Monday (substituted)
  9. Bars closed last night at 12:00. Thought it was a power outage as I looked outside the hotel the street was dark and quiet. Don’t see anything online about Buddhist Holiday today but my respects go out for all. Wondering if some bars might open after midnight here tonight, especially one late night bar in Pattaya
  10. As opposed to tonight. I stayed at hotel until 12:20 am intending to go out late for an after bar club- the Soi was dark and quiet due to a little known holiday and will be closed tomorrow also. Oops! Thought it was electric problem but hotel reception and waiters outside said holiday. Searching online I can find no mention of this- whatever
  11. Maybe Dolce Vita could hire the skinny cashier from Taco Bell…
  12. Oops - it’s in Jomtien next to Yulpins(?)in Super Town.
  13. Stopped in last night for dinner. Chicken in mushroom sauce mashed potatoes and Cole slaw for no more than my Taco Bell nachos couple days before. Both were fine
  14. Yes their mamasan discreetly finally mentioned that last night as I paid for my drinks. Couple are nice looking with great tans
  15. Monday night was very busy also in Boystown street and Serene. Checked out Classic Boys to find a small party in progress with some customers having bought a couple bottles. Jomtien was busy but less noisy as it was earlier. I busied myself watching shirtless guys playing pool with farang at 69 bar
  16. I didn’t realize how much of a holiday it was until I wandered back from Sunee to Boystown. That explains the packed hotels but I have never seen more business at Serene. Outside there were dancers playing more for another bar. First stop was Nice Boys with maybe 8 customers - some openly entertaining boys. Invited a nice one for a couple drinks and pleasant company but was more missing a nice waiter from a couple years back. Winner boys had a huge table outside with customers and a couple boys followed inside to dance. I should have tipped or bought a couple drinks as they grew bored but I was more interested in my favorite Blue Kamakazes. I inquired about Win but the bartender didn’t recognize the name?!! This has me concerned.
  17. Boys there last night were mostly sitting outside with customers at one huge table. A couple boys came inside with me for a while and danced . I was more happy with my favorite blue kamalazes with three getting downed rapidly. They didn’t have a chance 😛
  18. Landed in Incheon last night with ~65 minutes to make transfer to BKK. Security was deluged with incoming passengers and was late for my flight. Very surprised that flight that was supposed to take off at 7:05 was WAITING for me at 7:18!!!! NOT what I expected as expected as I arrived to the plane a little sweating and short of breath. Captain asked if I was ok and got me a water BEFORE I was seated. My apologies to anyone on the flight. Thought I was going to overnight at the airport for sure.
  19. "Bangkok Police stated that they were shocked to find that the massage shop was secretly a front for prostitution..."
  20. https://www.newsweek.com/taliban-1-2-million-stolen-russian-jet-crash-afghanistan-1864229 Taliban Under Scrutiny After $1.2M 'Stolen' From Crashed Russian Jet The Taliban is under scrutiny after $1.2 million is reported to have been "stolen" from a Russian private jet that crashed in Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province on January 21. Four out of the six people aboard the Dassault Falcon 10 aircraft survived the crash. The jet was carrying out a medical evacuation from Thailand to Russia, traveling from Utapao airport, near Pattaya, to Moscow via India and Uzbekistan, Russia's Federal Agency for Air Transport said. Anna Evsyukova, who was urgently hospitalized in Thailand and was due to continue her treatment in Russia, and her husband Anatoly Evsyukov, were killed in the crash. The survivors arrived from Dubai to Moscow on Friday. One of the Falcon 10 pilots, Arkady Grachev, said on Friday the crash was caused by "technical problems." Co-pilot Dmitry Belyakov also said that the cause of the Falcon 10 crash was a technical malfunction, "apparently a problem with the fuel," state-run news agency Tass reported. In the aftermath of the crash, the Afghan newspaper Hasht-e Subh reported, citing sources in the region, that $1.2 million was "stolen" from the private jet. The publication reported that Mohammad Ayub Khalid, the Taliban governor for the northeastern Badakhshan province, has ordered an investigation into the matter.
  21. https://www.yahoo.com/news/thai-fireworks-factory-blast-kills-021844721.html At least 20 people have been killed in an explosion at a fireworks factory in central Thailand, police said on Wednesday. The explosion was reported at a factory in Suphan Buri, about 120km (74.56 miles) north of Bangkok, at around 3.30pm, according to ThaiPBS. Around seven people were injured in the mishap and taken to a hospital at Chao Phraya Yommarat in the province. “We cannot tell whether all the workers were killed. The officials are entering the site to investigate. They have not found any survivors,” provincial governor Nattapat Suwanprateep told Reuters. The fire has been controlled and workers were trying to confirm the exact number of casualties, said Kritsada Manee-In with the Samerkun Suphan Buri Rescue Foundation. Visuals showed a huge pillar of black smoke rising in the air after the fire was doused.
  22. That was the title of the whole article - duh. It doesn't say CORBELL was an expert. Have someone read it to you if necessary. Nice that you sign your posts with a picture of yourself. Go easy on the lipstick
  23. Yet at 3:34 in the video Pope says he is "betting this is going to be the real deal." At least you should watch before misinterpreting it for everyone else. in your first post YOU were saying Corbell was no expert when no one anywhere said he was.
