  1. I remember in winter you showed us that mysterious photo and tormented us to guess what it is
  2. Will it be called "Second Road International Airport", airport standard abbreviation will be SEX to distinguish it from BKK or PTY
  3. it's why it's always good to go and see for ourselves
  4. looks like new strain of Covid appeared in both countries at the same time and is attacking politicians first.
  5. Clearly Thai police has crooked priorities to put it mildly.
  6. close to Magic Touch / name? / massage place
  7. although quite often lasts much longer
  8. I'm not. Even my own country which I consider very sensible is not short of idiocies and contradictions when comes to covid rules so I don't expect anything from any country , I just watch development ready to jump when I feel it will make sense. Only problem is , at one point me and not only me may actually lose interest or switch it somewhere else, Colombia for example, LOL although I prefer to travel to countries when I can walk at 3 am free of worries , wouldn't recommend it in Cali or Medellin.
  9. I don't know about situation in France but my guess will be with all that red lists , quarantines and restriction upon return some western countries are putting their travelers practically locked inside while other are less restrictive thus makes sense from business point of view to pursue their residents ? . Z909 example above is good illustration in order to go to Thailand one needs to find transit country upon return whether wants to go there or not and stay there for 11 days. It seems that Thialand doesn't not have monopoly to covid nonsensical rules.
  10. finally some very sensible talk specially part you highlighted above. China can afford pursuing 'no covid ' strategy , good luck with that , because of vast internal market but more tourist dependent countries can't risk whole sector to collapse trying to contain malady which is already there anyways.
  11. there's still hope for December being month of return to sanity
  12. then they push it to December and we will have truly arrival of Santa Claus when they re-open then. At least they have some measurable goal in form of 70% target not just a whim
  13. Watched it today and I fully agree. Considering it'll be 12 episodes it's promising indeed. That episode 0 could be actually stand alone short BL movie. Lesson nr 1 coming out of it - you want boyfriend you must be brave, not shy
  14. hope Thailand will not yield to Malaysian's pressure and will not hand her over. That would be disgrace specially since as spoon states , she did not even do any crime.
  15. good to know, that's my project after "Don't Say No' Binge watching seems to work for me better
  16. 'm churning through 'Don't Say No ' , like one above starts with episode 0, up to ep2 so-so but from ep.3 gets interesting. Entry of new character, Leon , brother of Leo one of two main characters seem to enliven and speed action a bit. Don't like Fiat's hystericals but hope he will man up as episodes go on. "Together With Me" or "Dark Blue Kiss " it's not but quite very watchable. There's even familiar line" you need money for tuition or your mom went to hospital ? "
  17. all boils down to salaries offered. World over migrants were , are and will be accepting lower paying jobs because they know that hardship will bring fruits when they send money back to families or return home . 100 baht will buy more in Udon Nowhere than in Bangkok , 1000 baht will go further in Laos than Thailand, 10000 won will go further in Thailand than Korea and 100 000 euros may not buy , say , rural house in Germany but may in Korea and so on. It's why people who are almost destitute where they work upon return home they may have quite luxurious lifestyle according to local standards. And that's the reason they take jobs or pay locals won't.
  18. no idea but how many foreigners thinking USA thinks Palms Springs? 0.00017896% ? if that much And how many Americans planning 'local' vacations starts from there ? even less I guess
  19. of course it is but simplest things are hardest to implement. For now, I'd say opening country to fully vaccinated as long as pandemic rages and I think that moment is coming soon. Reason for my optimism is my local supermarket. For last 18 month we were herded in one line to cash registers. From today we are back to pre-covid situation when one can chose register of his liking and shop aisles are no longer one-way only , strong proof that world is returning to sanity.
  20. +1 absolutely ! Pattaya without bars and night entertainment is very ordinary destination and even in best times with all that eye candy on streets one finds challenging to occupy himself during daytime after initial day or two. Converting it to a family destination is possible but not without years of construction, infrastructure upgrade and cleaning beaches. And even then it may be attractive only to Russians from Siberia and northern Chinese as closest affordable, clean and safe and tropical destination
  21. mistakenly I took three Viagras
  22. last guy has strangely shaped smartphone in his front pocket
  23. now when Trump left perhaps it is ? On serious note probably those surprised like you are legion or three but that's the 'beauty ' of all those rankings. My social circle with well travelled strongly over represented still laughs at memory of mid-90ties ranking of US travel destinations by one of travel magazines for well -heeled (Conde Nast?, not sure ) when Palms Springs came on top
  24. perfect, now time to upgrade airports , trains and subways. I'm not USA basher at all and it's a while since I was there other than passing by the airports but such rich and sophisticated nation should do better when come to infrastructure IMHO
