Day 24 Trip is about to finish and nothing reminded me about that sad fact more than morning trip to a Pulse clinic on Silom to do mandatory pre-departure PCR test. Airline requires it and so does my country . 3100 baht instead of going to long time off went to the clinic but I still was happy that I did not need to look for a place to do it, clinic is right there in Silom and advertises test option on the front door . Quite upscale place and very efficient, I was surprised how busy it was but it’s well known place to go for men’s sex health problems, Covid test is just a side business. I found price good value since the same pre-departure test at home cost me about 4600 baht. I was told result is guaranteed before midnight as long as test is done before 4 pm , result will come by e-mail but if I want paper copy of it I can pick it up before 6 tomorrow. All that is joy of travelling in covid time I guess. Rest of morning I spent wandering around Silom markets in soi 8 and soi 5 on opposite side , took some market pictures for folks at home and made slow trek to soi Sri Bumphen , opposite Malaysia hotel where I was supposed to have a lunch with Chritian PFC. On my way I checked Prince in soi Suan Plu, closed although without any signs so hopefully will go back to life after restrictions will be removed. Another member Anddy returned to BKK after some travel in provinces and today is our first and last chance to meet. Now I become even more determined after I learned from another member about some gross misfortune at his home. So like my first night this trip, my last was meant to be spent visiting soi 4. Waiting for anddy I parked myself in front of Jupiter but immediately message from him came on Line that he is dining in German restaurant and saw me passing by so I went to see him there. After we caught with news I suggested we go to Jupiter and we arrived just in time for boys parade , my intended guy was not there but I pointed to anddy another one I like, very, very handsome in Jupiter boys style. lets be honest, covid made balancing budget easy due to lack of travel for 22 months in my case. Money not spent is money saved ( and spent later as we can see), normally in 22 month I'd be in Thailand 3-4 times.

in travel I found smartphone very handy, even now, more than month later I recall with smile that sound in quarantine hotel announcing new message and it was e-mail with my negative test result making me free. If I can make any advice it will be to start earlier , to take one of two trains departing between 8 and 9 to avoid afternoon heat. I was in my hotel at 8 p.m only , there was some problem with reservation in the morning (money was not transferred to hotel’s account by Agoda) but it looked that during day it solved by itself, hotel was paid and my room ready, good I did not panic. Freshened, shaved , freshly dressed I went to world famous to eat some proper supper and straight from there to Hot Male to find what happened to T2 but first and foremost to fulfill a mission to off X the Moonlight model 18past19 was so impressed with. It started with long face actually as one of mamasans sitting nearby told me X is not there today. Liking his performance last night I pretended to buy the story, sighted that in my age I must be getting blind and chalked of whole story , who knows he could be there just not where I was looking for him ? As I said , his loss although it would be nice to do trip accompanied by such a hunk with quite good English to boost. Next time ! M took day off today and was nowhere to be seen but as I said I was on the mission supported by my friend. is small city but not that small that you can walk everywhere so some local transport if a must. Of course if one is based there for few days in can be arranged much cheaper locally. But over all station based songtaew was a good option as transport was available right away and he had good plan where to go, 5 minutes after leaving a train we were on our way to the first set of ruins

Day 23 Busy morning, breakfast a bit earlier as today I’m moving to my last stop this trip, Baan Silom soi 3 and we planned members trip to Ayuthaya. 18past19 resigned as he will be going there again in few days but newscene announced he will be taking with him his local friend so I asked T2 if he wants to join us and he agreed. 18past19 promised to accompany me to Hot Male in the evening time permitting, went his way, me and T2 returned to the room, I finished packing, travelling lightly paid off as it did not take long. On street level I suggested T2 will go directly to Hualampong by motorsai but he suggested he’ll go by MRT. I hired motorsai to deliver me and luggage to Baan Silom , over there asked him to wait , just dropped luggage at reception – they had in their computer all history of me staying there including October bookings I cancelled, told them I will return in the evening and the same motorsai took me to Hualampong. 100 baht whole round trip. Newscene and his friend were already waiting with gloomy news , our train which was about to depart in 20 minutes did not have free seats as it was long distance train somewhere far so we opted for next one in about 1 hr. We bought tickets at 20 baht a piece, guys went to park themselves at coffee shop upstairs and I started looking for T2. No show, he did not look as somebody who would get lost at Hualampong so I wondered what happened but guessed he changed his mind, his loss I guess. Train was local one , crawling through Bangkok but speeding up after Rangsit and in 100 minutes we were there. Newscene suggested we buy return tickets right away learning lesson from no seats situation earlier on but we were told tickets for our train will be selling 20 minutes before scheduled arrival. Sightseeing is quite well organized in Ayuthaya, at station there are songtaews , drivers have pictures and trip plans at the ready. There are 2 , 3 , 4 hours plans and perhaps even longer, we opted for 3 hrs one at 900 baht per vehicle. ( When I was first time there , back in 2002 I paid 200 so Ayuthaya inflation is much higher than boy bars inflation ). This was my third time there but first for other gentlemen , we visited 5 or 6 different ruins with mandatory stop at one where iconic statue head embraced by the tree roots is. Few sites I recalled from previous trips , at least two were new ( or forgotten) for me , weather was co-operating so we had good time only T2 being loser by skipping that. I hoped in the evening I will find what happened and why as I sensed it was one of those last minute turn aways. Happy but hungry we arrived at train station with not enough time to dine properly but enough to go to 7/11 and grab some sandwiches. Train was late about 20 minutes but waiting was quite pleasant as sun was setting and air was cooling off. No problem with seat this time although by no means it was empty. What surprised me was that despite being long distance all the way from Ubon Ratchatani is was very clean with no garbage in sight. day 23 to be continued.... we are on the train now

Day 22 V has a day time job so we went for breakfast earlier only to find smiling 18past19 coming there at the same time so we enjoyed food together. V did not stay with us long rushing for work and when he left 18past19 revealed secret why he was so visibly happy this morning. Not that I needed it much as by time I left Lumpini station rain was over . It was only rain I had in 25 days I spent in LOS this trip. T knew I was coming since he was asking me on Line since morning “ will you come to see me today ?” , and we had our usual 1 ½ hr. session. We couldn’t have Christmas lunch in any lesser place than world famous, multi Michelin stars awarded Foodland Patpong where I treated myself for holiday with Chicken with cashew nuts. Then I returned to hotel to make some holiday calls only to learn than my sister’s whole household fell to Covid so she was forced to call off holiday dinner at the last minute. Fortunately it was pretty mild form thanks to all being vaccinated but it was closest I get to know virus so far. No kidding and no idea who brought it home and from where, shopping being main suspect. Then I decided to get some fresh air and leaving elevator I noticed that 18past19 at the same second arrived by another one, completely uncoordinated coincidence. Perhaps I should buy lottery ticket today because during my walk around Silom and Suriwong I decided to take some cash from ATM and when I turned back to retun to the street level I bumped into another member, newscene . He was in a bit of rush but we mutually confirmed that after tomorrow we are going to Ayuthaya by train. Somehow V found his way to our hotel in the evening so him, 18 and me went to soi 4 for a dinner and after that we went to Jupiter which was surprisingly empty for a weekend evening, dearth of farangs visible on MahaNakhon found it’s confirmation there as well. None of our problems because 18 had his plans and I asked V if he wants to check a view from my room , invitation he gladly accepted. Chance of missing my trip reports is coming soon with only 5 days left if somebody really missed them at all and with no immediate plans to return it may be prolonged. Dream yes , plans no until situation goes back to normal which sadly includes 'Test and Go ' option. I just can't see myself being locked for more than a day even in most comfortable hotel.

When I was there nobody asked where I stay before and what my next place will be / not that I'd answer honestly in all probability/ , nobody checked ID on airport bus to and from Pattaya not to mention quote packed trains to and from Ayuthaya. In short , on vacation the same like in our daily lives we are taking a calculated risk
