  1. Prime minister was reading our boards full of praise of how well Thailand was handling pandemic ( at one point rightly so but it looks it was more luck that shrewd policy) and thought country is relatively safe just by closing Swampy and chasing foreign arrivals away ?
  2. that would be dream-come-true for all those homophobes believing in conversion therapies. Your post above reminds us that however gloomy days we have right now, one day all will be over. I'd even risk to claim that we see a bit of light already. Even in Thailand where situation worsens quite rapidly if one is looking at raw numbers with cool eye it's not that bad. Five months ago there were countries in Europe much less populous than Thailand with much more daily cases and deaths than Thailand has now.
  3. sad, but such is a risk of travelling those days. No only to Thailand but to nearest shopping mall as well. Only person in my close family who got seriously sick last winter (survived) to this day has no idea how and where he caught it. If your friend is landing in hospital it must be a bit serious? Was he vaccinated ?
  4. In the form visible from street level, perhaps . Bars , saunas and massage parlors may be gone one day but commercial sex industry ? No country and no society ever achieved that in long term. Considering that our days are numbered too , most likely industry's disappearance in not such a stressing issue for us and if happens, it will finally let us to do some sightseeing to learn Thailand better.
  5. First episode very , what to say? , undynamic. Hopefully action speeds up in future
  6. Scene my be fading away but for sure there must be still gays in Phuket
  7. some people are eternal optimists. Was he suggesting that is Thai Hitler somewhere painting some obscure provincial temple and waiting to jump to the scene ?
  8. too bad Museum is not opened to us bur hopefully one day gates to Thailand will open
  9. sounds like high end cholesterol treatment
  10. After watching first three episodes I agree with you, worth watching if only to see how relationships will develop. Nice refresher after all those Bangkok / university themed series, finally we get to see remote Thailand. Crime scenes bit weird but due to short episodes thy must to take some shortcuts on sophistication. At least two actors are in extremely good looking category and Mek / guy with ponytail on some pics / in his tight jeans is sexy like hell. as for product placement - they need to finance it somehow. It looks that in this covid season Thai BL industry is keeping us occupied and healing our wounds of missing LOS
  11. in short, thanks to Delta, North Korea is spreading everywhere
  12. yes , otherwise money will be wasted
  13. I binge watched first three episodes today, as expected from mafia milieu movie , soaked in a bit of blood but I like love plot and how feeling of two main characters ( and it looks two side ones too) develops so certainly evening well spent. Crime part of plot a bit childish and unsophisticated (so far) but romantic part heart warming and eye pleasing Waiting for more
  14. no, that's too pessimistic
  15. that's good news , with that close to 'omega " there will be no more letters and virus can't mutate any further so pandemic will be history soon
  16. o shit, lets make it 'epsilon and 'theta'
  17. it could be included in licensing conditions, otherwise countries without manufacturing capabilities would wait helplessly for ' omega ' variant
  18. probably it's not as easy as it sounds , vaccine production must be quite complex process so logistic of securing supplies, and finding and training staff must be worked out
  19. as rich countries are slowly but surely approaching state of full vaccination , at least for all willing to, more and more vaccines will be available for the rest of world and we may rapid decrease in case there as well unless , God forbid , some 'lambda ' or ' kappa' strain will appear
  20. I'd say " curiously some hotels don't want customers bringing prostitutes onto the premises." Siam Heritage on Surawong was known for not allowing joiners but not long before whole covid debacle there was report by one of members that it doesn't apply anymore. When thongs will get back to normal quite possibly it may be new normal for a while so all old rules may not apply. Perhaps even bars will expand their offer to milk and every hotel will sport big sign ' joiners welcomed " .
  21. perhaps they will if bars re-open
  22. sunny skies year round perhaps?
  23. not to dispute a word from what you said but success of sandbox to a great degree depends of risk tolerance of both tourists and locals. Aiming at zero transmissions will lead to failure of the schemes.
  24. just like our youth...
  25. for those who successfully made it those criminals are God sent since they can't count on visa obtained legal way. Labels sometimes are not what they are meant to be.
