  1. that's too optimistic
  2. welcome to the forum and have a nice trip chances are by Sunday's midnight you will not be virgin anymore but remember to play safe . If you stay in Khao San area ( why? lots of cheap digs in Silom / Suriwong area too ) make sure you are not trying to bring guy to multibed room you are staying so make sure you have some private digs. Some people staying in your hotel may be bit homophobic so be discreet, Khao san is backpacker area but not exactly gay backpacker one.
  3. In now defunct Happy Boys around the corner from Sunee I noticed that guy sitting amorously on my lap took some interest in my shirt pockets so quite promising session was halted and my lap unburdened. But it was only such case I had in LOS. I always keep cash in money belt inside my underwear and rarely they demand to take it off. When they do I also try to place it inside of backpack. Never problem leaving Thailand a EMPTY money belt is already in the checked luggage if any.
  4. that would be very audacious although not impossible . It brings to the light another warning: From my backpacking days I recall that is was and most likely still is common wisdom that not locals but other travelers are main threat when comes to theft or other forms of financial abuse like borrowing small amount of money to pay for lunch because they forgot a wallet and you, their neigbour from the same hotel floor happened to be dinning in the same venue. Of course in the evening one learned that they already left. I was such unlucky lender twice in places as remote as Bam in Iran and Easter Island but shockingly enough in both cases culprits were Swiss, nation not exactly famous for dishonesty nor poverty. There was also happy ending, on Easter Island I caught them in the airport before they checked in, retrieved my money just for fun and all it was 5000 pesos , then 12.50 USD
  5. I'd not be so sure. While it's definitely very generous tip and well above the market those guys know much , much better than us how much they can command when they are in their prime. I had cases, some even reported in my reports already, when guys rejected or relented on very generous offers. I liked one particularly blunt explanation ' I don't want long time, I want to sleep because I have off almost every night". market economy , among other things, means that some consumers , no matter how well of may still be priced out of certain market segments. But for those who feel some guys are out of their reach I have two consolations - low season makes them more accommodating and with time even best are losing their luster, if only because novelty value wears off even if they look as fabulous as always. After all one can off A, B , C or D may times but only once for a first time.

  7. nothing wrong with that type of bars and I wouldn't be surprised if they were more ubiquitous than we even suspect. Gender equality means , among other things that if we are looking for men so will girls
  8. I'm pretty sure it will lift living standards of working poor immensely, now wait for screams from business circles that such generous proposal will put country on the brink of recession and will lead to collapse of baht to a joy of travelling farangs. Now I wonder if Moonlight models will start demand 5006 baht instead of 5000 they wished to get so far for their company ?
  9. and off fee 40 $ = 1200 baht , Moonlight models now sound as good deal
  10. that guest was A, you know that?
  11. I agree but placing cell in day pack or pocket of jacket hanging in the closet while guest is in the washroom would not amount to paranoia.
  12. you are not alone
  13. Never ever in 20 trips I had anything stolen from room safe or in fact from room itself including few times when neglectfully I left few thousands in the open. Only case of something missing ( 500 baht note ) was from BTS but even this I'm not sure it was pickpocket's job or I simply dropped note when reaching for money to buy a ticket.
  14. It was great to meet you, . ggobkk and jimbillp and I'm glad you were part of one of my best trips to Thailand ever. Our trip with boys to Mahanakhon was truly epic and for me highlight not only that trip but also whole year. Yes, we picked that umbrella later that day and in October A was able to use it again when we walked and rain caught with us
  15. it looks that in few weeks even if nobody answers you will be in the best position to answer those questions have fun and report, he looked great when I was there in October
  16. # me too
  17. we pay because it's what money is for and we as societies have it so far
  18. relax and don't worry I'm not competitive and after so may trips always have some substitute in mind so yes , we can go bar hopping together and I will give you first pick , you have it in writing here,
  19. welcome to the forum that place sounds intriguing
  20. you are still reigning world champion of suspension
  21. My guess is billions in Africa , Latin America and Asia would be happy to partake in all those NHS's patients problems
  22. It means that doesn't matter how much people may disagree ( I'd run screaming from other two ) there's always point when they can some common ground which is very good news. And of course we are talking only about picture , in flesh all of them, for me at least, may look different so so could be choice on the ground. I recognize only one guy there but I did not visit Fresh Boys last trip
  23. I agree, other than prices and airport crowds I did not notice any big difference between seasons. Even rains rarely last longer than 1-2 hrs and life goes back to normal surprisingly fast. My best trip was first half of Dec though, but followed closely by end of Aug/ beginning of Sept one. Only my best boy even ruins that theory - I met him on Christmas time 2014 trip, never saw him before and never again.
