Since is close to Kompong Thom it can be visited from there as a break on the Siem Reap-Phnom Penh route for those travelling by road. Preah Khan Kompong Svay / Prasat Bakan / is by wide margin remotest and hardest to get Angkorian site but definitely worth a trouble and expense. Imagine being alone in one of biggest Angkor temples like Ta Prohm or Preah Khan / the same name / and you get an idea and sense of adventure. Of course all of those are for lovers of old stones and some may find effort , time and expense to get there excessive , just the same like with some recommended boys , LOL,

Day 11 In the morning over breakfast last exchange of news with Xiluzer and his friends since I’m leaving for Pattaya today and they are going home tomorrow. Since Pattaya for me is Boyztown of course I settled there, this time at Copa. As nice and as comfortable as other two I stay before –Le Café Royal , now called New Café Royal and Ambiance . My room was on 2nd floor and a little bit of bar noises were seeping into it but it was not annoying or sleep interrupting chiefly because I did not come to Pattaya to go to bed at 10 p.m. I liked fact that massage boys are on duty since 9 a.m. , used their services in the morning before and did this time as well. To pre-empty possible question as to which of those 3 hotels is my preference I’d say one which will offer the best price for my chosen dates, for me they are almost identical down to the furniture and I each one is a good choice. I’d say very fittingly as all 4 of us were there on the day of their closing back in June. By coincidence it turned out we can be there just a day after they re-opened. So I settled in my room and hour or so later world saw us stopping taxi and setting off to the place. Week ago I was there and had my doubts if they manage to open as rumored in few days by workers speed up and managed. Despite morning there were tons of visitors already everywhere , what a contrast with all places I visited so far this trip . Last time I was only one to climb to highest level of temple , now there’s huge lineup and number of visitors limited to 100 at the time so I gave up since I allowed myself only 2 hrs. sightseeing there and posted wait was 1 hr. Angkor Wat is so huge that there is plenty to explore anyways and even those hordes present dispersed somehow but I could only imagine scene few hours later when tour busses will arrive. Hordes or not , this is immensely impressive building , one of those ‘must to visit’ places even for very casual tourists. Cambodia’s part of my trip is over and I’m leaving with sense of accomplishment with list of my places to visit worldwide drawn many , many years ago waiting at home to be run through shredder upon my return. I’m glad to see my second most favorite country making great step forward over last 15 years and I don’t mind that outcome of that is rise in prices here and there. Time to say good bye and thank you to my handsome driver, aesthetics were just a bonus as he was reliable and fun to be with . Checking in and flight were non-events and at 1.pm. I never used ME3 airlines even if all of them are flying out from my city for simple reason - somehow their schedules are not meeting my requirements / too long connections / or ratio of total flying times to price not reasonable. With good price and connection time I'd not be afraid to fly even Yemenia , Air Zimbabwe or Gambia Air . My roughest landing ever were with Myanmar Air and Lufthansa , my smoothest with long defunct Wardair / Canada / , Aeroflot and China Eastern / that one on return from my last trip to LOS / , all three times toughing ground not noticeable.

100 tip to the server I consider veryyyyyyyyyyyyy generous unless you are scheming to bed him in a future.
