  1. Was she instrumental in Thailand getting A-Bomb in Pattaya?
  2. you are proven right, Marie Curie / nee Sklodowska / appeared on both Polish 20000 zlotych note from 1989 and with husband Pierre on the last 500 francs French note
  3. I like paying up front, specially in places I'm not familiar with, one less pocket to watch although it must be said loudly I never had any problems in LOS with missing things or money. In bar I pay for drinks as soon as they appear and even when off boy I offed already before on the same trip I like to point that money on the table is his morning tip, would not do it with first time off though .
  4. like Marylin Monroe for example
  5. he will sit in the cattle class like most of flying humanity
  6. First they impeach crappy Prime Minister than they discover that they like their new power very much and not before long we have non-execs in power without any checks and balances, knowing everything the best. I'd rather take a cash
  7. Old hands are lamenting downhill slide but I liked what I saw in December and bar far from collapsing as far as I'm concerned, well patronized that night and nice selection of boys, only reason I did not off any was earlier arrangement with certain axe murderer from BBB to fill that night
  8. may be boy was trying his luck with you quoting 3000 or was on the roll. I offed one long time in Dec , wanted 2000, accepted with such a sweet smile in the morning that I forced another 500 on him. Still recall his perfect skin, like on photoshoped photos
  9. minimum tip for the boy is collected up front. Willie is right , lots of hunks there
  10. good for Lucky 7, when I was there just before Christmas I was only customer at 11 p.m.
  11. count me out, water price is not and issue for me, I don't drink water at all, only animals do. Reason for water price being more upsetting than other commodities may be that most of us have ingrained somewhere deep that water is and should be free
  12. that's the beauty of Boyztown - there's always something of interest for everybody from Vassa's skinny fems all the way to BBB hunks with everything in between.
  13. never , ever in Thailand and for that matter anywhere else I had a case of security or management insisting on checking anything in the room I occupied. Ronnie you must have a bad luck or poor unresearched choice of hotels in LOS.
  14. No and yes. Yes , tried many hotels as I like to sleep around in a sense you noticed in one of your comments to my thread. Expert I'm not because other than 2 nights per trip in Tarntawan I like budget hotels and only those who share my taste should pay any attention to my notes. At end of day I'm tempted to agree that Om Yim may be the best choice, close to everywhere, reasonably priced and appointed, no elevator though for those who care about those things. Recently I'm developing soft spot for Nantra Silom in soi 8 , very modern with basic breakfast included but room smaller than Om Yim.
  15. Hope your reunion with Thailand will be enjoyable one. If you find time to report a bit here , even better. Both choices have advantages and are joiners friendly. Tarntawan is pricey compared to Malaysia but much closer to the action, breakfast for two is included and quite sumptuous. Malaysia is less than half price , rooms are spacious and airy but you need to budget for breakfast / 100-130 /, taxi from Silom /55-65 / , past midnight 80-100, motorsai from Lumpini MRT /20 /, whatever you decide you win.
  16. typo - Vincent is in soi Dumphlee on the way from Rama Rd to Malaysia hotel, but I second - very good option and cute waiters. Madrid restaurant in Patpong has very good pizza
  17. Only known hotel in the Silom area prohibiting visitors is Siam Heritage on Suriwong, should be no problem elsewhere but some may change joiner fees although it's while since somebody complained about those on gay boards..
  18. nothing beats banana pancake in front of Silom soi 2 at midnight
  19. not a bad advice look vise, first issued in 2004 and it was voted most attractive note of that year by members of International Banknote Association
  20. If you want to know what I think read this thread http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/9793-final-notes-for-december-2014-trip/?hl=notes
  21. since when comes to look of paper money Americans for some reason are least innovative country in the whole world and changes in the last 80 years are pretty cosmetic my guess is that woman on a 20 $ note will be Andrew Jackson
  22. for me hot and sticky weather means that I eat very little surviving day mostly on fruit snacks and ice cream, only in the evening have one meal usually chicken with cashew nuts either in Oasis on Suriwong close to Tartawan or in one of soi Twilight places /Maxi's or Dicks/. I'm not a fan of food court type foods but as said before, I'm last person to give food and restaurant advice since I pay little attention to food when traveling
  23. no, but I have an impression that most contributors here have mostly contact with those types and nothing wrong with it.
  24. Foodland is a supermarket but at least one in Patpong has adjacent 7/24 restaurant, nothing fancy but fairly cheap and with quite extensive menu. Very busy 1-4 when bars are closing and staff is congregating there for a meals and gossip. I'm not gourmet food connoisseur so for me this is place good enough for meals and people watching. Cheap American breakfast before 9 at 69 baht for those staying in hotels without food service like BBB Inn or Pavillon Place. I drag my boys there often for a breakfast together
  25. I agree with an assessment in OP and this is reason i keep returning. Yes , sometimes there were glitches but in retrospect they could be avoided if rose tinted glasses Nirish mentioned in post above would be put to good use. Untold drama mostly was caused by failed attempt to buy love instead of renting it as somebody wisely advised and while I feel sorry for cheated and abused farangs I believe they sow seeds of their own misery but forgetting that vacations are for body not for brain. Those of us who remember that boys are in the game not for our beauty but for some fun larded with money will always do well with smooth skinned and well behaved Men of Thailand.
