interesting indeed, another case when good intentions are paving road to hell. But I would not dismiss America's efforts , at least they are trying bringing light to the problem. Human trafficking is one of those problems which can be effectively tackled only from within society in question and people will go to great lengths of suffering for hope to better their lives. People from rich countries don't understand that what is inhumane condition to them may be considered comfort for others, sleeping 10 people on beds on one room with water available in corridor beats many times sleeping same number on the floor with water available in the river 1 hour away. Gee, I started this thread not expecting to be in visible minority by showering together with them. Not inclined to mend my ways but next time I will pay more attention as to what their preferences will be.

another point why I'm not using wallet at all, when leaving room I try to have everything secured and ready for new guest just in case of surprise encounter right on the stairway. Happened to me twice , both times at BBB Inn. Once I grabbed a boy who just left another room after some loud commotion with ' fucking farang' as he said, second time boy who helped me with a luggage stay to help me to unpack for a fee, ahem. Money belt was already in a safety box downstairs so no risk.

Believe me I'm last one to support military takeovers but in theory in may be justified if country would not have functioning government, society were on verge of collapse and economy unable to support society's basic needs it's possible to imagine that military as only organized and disciplined structure is taking over. Since we are discussing smells subject in another thread and agreed that Thai level of hygiene is very high, thanks God, I have question: Before hitting the sheets do you guys shower with your boys or prefer to do it separately? What boys like better? To answer my own question, in the room I like to shower with them before and after , always invite them to and very rarely they don't like an idea, most stupid excuse I heard 2-3 times was " I'm shy". In such a case I don't insist but for me always it was sign of not so good encounter to follow. Sometimes there's disagreement about water temperature but even watching them showering extends my life big time. In the massage places if there are communal showers I let them to take a lead and do whatever they suggest. If there's shower in the room / cubicle I ask them if we will shower together and answers are mixed before massage but usually they are taking an offer after one. Fact that I do not tip before a shower probably helps a bit to facilitate decision. Surprisingly perhaps in opposition to room encounters I did not notice any variation in quality of service in massage places whether we showered together or separately. Possibly fact of who is host is a factor, in the room as a guests they feel more to oblige, in massages is other way around and it possibly management /co-workers factor plays as well.

It's funny how this thread evolved - original post was about smell of food and we landed with unwashed boys / at client request /. While ago one of posters here asked about how to go about to buy from boys their end-of-day underwear so definitely there's market for stronger smells. you are not the first person to confirm that nothing beats BKK traffic like motorsais and I need to admit that quite often I take them just for thrill of the ride. Yes I know they are dangerous and every third Thai boy bears the scars of motorbike accident but I can't resist.

I would not be surprised if you were wrong as there are connoisseurs of strong odors and I recall at least 2 different boys who told to me that they had clients who did not want boys to shower before convention.

that's what I 'd suspect.. I must add that I'm of good opinion of working boys with girlfriends. Quite possibly that need money for those girls but I noticed they tend to keep their part of bargain. Exceptions apply of course but I'm not discouraged when boy says he likes girls. I always ask this ' do you have giorlkfriend / boyfriend question as part of our conversation and I'm amazed how honest answers they give

I don't carry wallet , stays in safety box along with passport and cards and I take them out only when need it. Bulky pockets are easy targets for thiefs, I don't mind man showing bulky things in his trousers but wallet is not thing I'm looking for

My apologies for resurrecting this zombie thread but I found it informative and interesting so hope some new readers will find it the same way. Personally if there's an option I prefer to leave my valuables in the safe on reception keeping in the room safe only 2-3 days worth of cash. Less convenient but somehow I feel better that way. In such a case I still do not use room safe in boy's presence. This would be rude IMHO. For whatever I think I may need for him I keep on me or hidden somewhere in the daypack. If there's no safety deposit box available I keep money under padlock in my luggage. I use normal , solid padlock , not one of those crapy, tiny ones. I need to stress that never ever I had anything missing from hotel room in Thailand / and for that matter anywhere in the world / but there were sporadic reports of theft by the boys and hotel staff from others so I rather don't lead anybody into temptation. I had a case then I left boy in the room alone for several minutes and went to retrieve forgotten bag from restaurant and while away realized that I had 7000 left in the open backpack on the desk. Of course nothing was missing but it was boy I offed few times before / and hope to do in the future, some of them you just miss /. Only possessions at times boys were interested in and helped themselves were drinks from the mini bar, now I got smarter and tell them what bottles are available and which ones not and explain why by showing them charges sheet, no problem understanding. When outside I have money spread in various pockets in my shirt / always use 2 pocketed with velcro or button / and my trousers , always make sure they have at least one back pocket on top of two front ones. I have system of how much is in each pocket - shirt 2000 on one, 1500 in another one. Trousers, 700 in 100 bahts in one , change and all 20 and 50 in another one. back pocket 500 in each if I have two. This way I minimize possibility of theft but really this helps with keeping track of expenses with bonus of not being forced to show wad of notes and comb through them to find proper one. Often in crowded market I see such a scene of farang pulling pocketful of notes to pay for purchase and then people wonder about having money lifted by observing thief. It needs to be said that Thailand is known for scams but definitely not for theft and I always feel completely safe even at deep night. Never hurts to be careful though. When in need of exchanging money I use money belt hidden in my undies and usually return straight to the hotel with the loot.

That's true, on quite a few occasions I even noticed boys put tissue in their shoes when undressing to prevent odor being released, one more reason to love them , they always smell so good, Gee getting hot in here !
