Speaking of TCS Spa, I had never heard of it (and I live here) until Shameless Mack mentioned that they have a new branch in Ari. There is also apparently a location in Charoenkrung. As I live on that side of town, I decided to give the Ari location a try. It might be my new favorite place. Same model as Klover, History, etc., which is to say higher prices, sexier men, and a more deluxe spa experience. For the Ari branch, everything is new. The spa is in a freestanding villa style building with courtyard, fountain, etc. The very service oriented staff are well trained and they are clearly aiming for a 5 star experience. Compared to Klover, I would say that they have maybe slightly fewer men to choose from, but perhaps better looking men (Klover photos are heavily photoshopped). TCS also provides full shirtless pics, so you have a better idea of what you are getting, and their marketing is um... more suggestive. From the photos provided I chose a fellow with well defined pecs and a six pack, as that is my favorite type, and made a booking. I generally prefer Thai massage to oil, but that was not on offer, so I chose 90 minutes aromatherapy. They do have jacuzzi suites, which look to be quite large but which I declined in favor a standard room. It wasn't huge, but it was nicely appointed and there is a separate full bathroom attached (unlike Klover). My guy took me to the room, a welcome drink was served, and various oils presented, etc. His English was near perfect, and we had a nice get acquainted chat. I learned that he had recently moved to Bangkok from Chiang Mai, where he had been working not in a spa but as an insurance broker. He was offered a similar position here, but opted for the TCS job because it paid substantially more. No previous experience, but he described the in house training he had received as very thorough and professional. He left while I showered, and when he returned he asked me to lie down on the table. All very legit so far, but I wanted to get a feel for what might be on offer, so I decided to be a bit cheeky. I said "do you wnat me to be naked for the massage?" Obviously I knew the answer, but when he said "Yes", I asked "and will you be naked too?" He hesitated for just a second, and then replied with a smile "not yet". So I knew we were in business. I did ask him to at least remove his shirt, which he did, revealing a perfectly sculpted body and the flawless porcelain skin so typical of the Chiang Mai region. I think I actually gasped. The massage itself was excellent--clearly he was correct about the training. Thorough coverage to include head, neck, hands and arms, etc. He was very strong and I was in heaven. When I was flipped over onto to my back, I couldn't help but staring at his physique. He of course noticed, and asked "do you like my body?" "Yes I do" I said. "Would you like to touch?" he asked with a smile. I replied that I would, and indeed I did. Not too long after that, all the rest of his clothes came off, revealing even more splendor. He was quickly erect and hopped up onto to the table with me, again being gracious and accommodating. At no point was any extra tip discussed or requested. After we finished, a nice cup of fresh brewed tea and a delicious cookie were served. I tipped well in excess of the suggested 500 minimum, and we continued to chat for a while before I was escorted into the courtyard and to the front gate. I can't wait to go back.

Well let's see, where to start. Firstly, it's a walk in shop. You don't make an appointment based upon possible inaccurate photos. Instead, you go ijn and have a seat, order something to drink if you like. Standing on the podium in front of you will be 15 - 25 shirtless guys vying for your attention. Most are on the muscular side, and some are quite handsome. Several are absolute stunners. You might see a few familiar faces from Thai porn or the nude photo online magazines. It's a full service shop; you're not there for the massage. As I recall a one hour massage in a standard room is 900 baht, and the minimum tip is 1500. Deluxe rooms, 90 minutes etc., are higher. The rooms are old but clean, and there is a shower and toilet in the room. I've rarely been disappointed there. Mostly straight guys but they will generally fulfill most requests. Can be quite busy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

A friend and I both tried Klover a few weeks ago. Friend likes big muscles and had signature aromatherapy with Master Joseph. He says Joseph’s body was amazing, the massage was poor, full service afters were offered for 3000 (negotiated down to 2500) which he says were amazing and well worth the money. I had a Thai massage with Pro Mike, who was handsome and well muscled. The quality of the massage was excellent. (Apparently the “Pro” designation means they’ve actually been trained in massage.) I was a bit surprised when the massage finished and no extras were offered. So I took a chance and tugged on his shorts, which he immediately took off revealing a huge member which quickly rose to the occasion. We had brief but passionate and thoroughly satisfying fun. No amount had been discussed so I tipped 1500 and he seemed very satisfied. Sadly, when I tried to book again a week later, I learned that Mike no longer works there. I get frequent updates on Line, showing available therapists, and there does seem to be a lot of turnover for whatever reason. The shop itself is very upscale, clean, and modern. Therapists are quite handsome but if you look closely at the photos you will see that some filters have been applied (skin perhaps a bit smoother and lighter than reality). Shower in the room but no toilet. No train nearby so it’s necessary to go by taxi. Minimum tip 500.

I too find it a bit annoying, but I try to look at it like this: This is how these guys earn their living. These guys are older, some are married and have children. Some rarely get offs but they are working “hard” to entertain you there in the bar. Unfortunately in recent years, they have had to become accustomed to Chinese tourists who never tip, never buy them a drink, and rarely off them. Or to tourists who are happy to see them walking around naked with a hard on, happy to grope them, and think that it’s free. Unfortunately, if they don’t ask for tips they probably won’t get any. i live in Bangkok and I go there a few times a year. I know that it’s going to be a little expensive. I take a small roll of hundred baht notes and I tip for services rendered. I’m also very comfortable saying no to requests for tips for no reason. I buy a few drinks and I spend a little money. In return I know that I’m going to be treated very well and receive very personalised attention.

What a delightful surprise when I wandered into the new club called Atlas in Patong Soi 2 last night. Big spacious bar, well lit stage right in the center, everything modern and comfortable. And there on the stage were all of the boys from The One / Tawan. They have all quit The One, and are now working at Atlas, which just opened a few days ago. The bar is owned by Arthur, who long time Tawan patrons will remember as the big mixed Black/Asian bodybuilder from Tawan days. As frequent visitors will know, The One never regained the atmosphere of Tawan; it became stale and less inviting, and the show was tame and uninteresting. By contrast, Atlas last night was fun, lively and uninhibited. At least 25 guys, all the top talent from Tawan plus a few new faces. All muscular and fit, if not necessarily lean. These are big muscular men. None of the older fat guys that had come to haunt Taiwan a few years ago were in sight. Fortunately, those days seem to be behind us. The show is back to being hard core and explicit, with lots of audience interaction. Sound and lighting are top notch. The show could have been a little longer, but they just opened a few days ago. I go there to have fun in the bar, not necessarily looking for an off. The guys were friendly, affectionate, and uninhibited. I don’t drink much but I opened a bottle to help them celebrate. I was soon surrounded by guys who, for a tip, were happy to take off their pants and sit with me and drink naked. I’m a bit of a voyeur, so after the show I convinced several of them to also do their rotations on stage stark naked. What a treat. Service was excellent. Arthur seems to be a very competent manager. No admission charge. Drinks were 500 baht, which is steep but worth it to me given the environment. All in all, highly recommended. I hope they can make it a success.

I generally go to a massage shop that has straight muscular guys, choose one I like, and then in the room I announce that I will be massaging them. They are often taken aback at first, but with gentle encouragement, I have never had anyone refuse.
