I am leaving this morning after 2 weeks. We should have met last night! I was at Foodland then Patpong then Good Boy but went back condo relatively early by 10pm.

Oh I thought you will still be here for a couple of days more, darn luck.

Initially my travels were supposed to be from end of May for two weeks too but with the geopolitical tensions at that time till now Singapore Airlines cancelled flights moving my visit few weeks later than planned.

It's a shame we didn't get to meet—I was looking forward to sharing a pint with you. No problems, there will always be next time 😁👍

Knowing you're in town on a weekend, did look out for you. No worries, catch up with you later in the year.

In fact, last night there were 6 active forum members in Patpong and soi 4 area! We could have a large group dinner if only we had known each other's travel plans. But of course I understand that not everyone feels comfortable in a big group setting. G's would not be the place for any gathering more than 4 persons. I highly recommend Happy Beer Garden upstairs area. It can accomodate up to 20 people!

Agree with the 4 person logic, as our meal on the 14th of March started off at 4, but turned into a somewhat tight 7 by the end of the evening.

However, with planning I'm quite sure G's could accommodate a long table, as opposed to the usual units of 4, ie like a traditional German Bierkeller.

Good to hear you are back in Thailand, I always enjoy your trip reports @jamiebee

I haven’t had the opportunity to visit Kanchanaburi yet, it felt just a little bit too far for a day trip so I’ve always vaguely planned to go when I had time to stay overnight in one of those floating river lodges. Interested to read your comments after you’ve been. Out of curiosity why not our forum’s old faithful, Pattaya combined with an island hop? Or did you do that last time? I seem to recall a report by you about sightseeing in Pattaya perhaps I’m mistaken

And somehow maybe due to a year of abstinence from alcohol, I was so enamored with one of the Khatoeys 🤣🤣🤣, so pretty 😍, and the chubby one so entertaining that I've given out tips more than I usually do.

I was worried there for a minute 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

But there is one Vietnamese guy in Good boys though doesn't have the body type I'm attracted to has a great smile, I'll too tipsy to remember their number or their names by this time, I gave a red note before I left.

There are only 6 Viet guys working in Good Boy. Last night one didn't work. Three were offed before 10pm (I wonder who. Hmmm.) So two were left and you tipped one of them!

I think the one not working might have been having dinner at G's!

That's one of the plans this time 😁. Due to rain the trees are lush and the waterfalls are gushing.

Hi @jamiebee

Welcome back to Thailand.

I have an ancient trip report, from 2015, where I documented my trip to Kanchanaburi.  Perhaps it might assist you with your planning.  I look forward to reading your perception and findings of that area - which I truly enjoyed as we also stayed in those on the river floating resorts - I truly LOVED it.

Fantastic report. Such detail and even with photographs. Despite being a decade old and unable to be enlarged (at least on my phone), they greatly enhanced the report. I skimmed to the Kanchanaburi chapter as that was of most interest to me, but will return and read the rest soon.

Very coincidentally I was researching a trip to see the Mon bridge and village in Sangkhlaburi just this past week. It seems many people only go as far as the national park and River Kwai and stop there (perhaps due to the driving time from Bangkok). One of my regular guys recently did the land crossing to Myanmar so I rang him to ask if he remembered the impressive scenery and by any chance passed by the Mon community. “I don’t know I was sleeping” was his unimpressed answer. After a verbal tussle trying to explain to him what I meant, he conceded that he did pass by “three Wats” which is of course the Three Pagoda Pass. As you’ve mentioned in your report, the romance and dramatic history of the region may be completely lost on Thais and Burmese both, as they now prosaically think of it as just the administrative border between the two countries, slightly tedious to get to, but a necessary evil. I also asked if he was interested to join me in a visit to Sangklaburi and he said he would, but added he thought it was a long way to go just to see the same folks he could see at home!

Edit: @bkkmfj2648 I read on to the conclusion of Pattaya. Did you ever get that Bangkok job?

I did an overnighter in a floating cabin on my 1st visit to Thailand about 20 years ago.

I felt at the time, when on the way home that I could have easily accomodated one more day.

Unfortunately no.  I was the number 1 candidate on the short list - but due to political reasons, it was awarded to a personal friend of the highest in command at the organization where I worked.  That was a very dark period during my long working career with them, as the idea to work in Bangkok was like to have a dream come true.

Jamiebee, with ur permission - an observation

U r VERY planned organized structured. Sex is about passion experimentation improvisation.....

U might want to consider loosening up, doing what feels like it at the heat of the moment...

True, I do suck when it comes to planning things and actually following it through evident from my previous visits here. I just want to have a clear picture on what I have to do, but then again I usually end up doing what I felt doing at the point in time instead. Hahaha 😂 😂

I'll try to keep my days and things to do more easy and simple and enjoy more of the Thai sabay sabay lifestyle for the next following days, besides my left foot still feels swollen for all the walking.hahaha
