I might be a minority opinion here but I personally don't like Agate anymore, thin walls and families staying there have made my last few stays less enjoyable. I do like Poseidon and East Suites, I'm yet to stay at The Venue or Zing. I'll second Classrooms and Copa for Boyztown. No issue at any of the above for guests. Classrooms has an entrance beside the bar where you bypass the bar and can go straight up to your room, the rest that i've stayed at will hold the guests ID.

Damn, Winner was my favourite in Pattaya. I wish Paul all the best, he is a good guy and cared for his staff and customers. On my last visit he did mention the owner(s) of Sunee raised rents and were making it unviable to continue while Winner was experiencing a lower high season.

They will bring it up, I wouldn't assume you're going to find any thai guys in pattaya just looking for hookups, it might happen but it's probably rare if they're attractive. Filters on photos is fairly common, but someone completely different showing up hasn't happened to me yet in Pattaya. It can happen the same as anywhere else though, just go with your gut. if something feels off then ask for a quick Line video call before they come or meet them outside the entrance of the hotel before you go inside.

I go to the gym frequently and the last thing I want is someone interrupting me to tell me what workout they think i should do. If it is a personal trainer correcting form to prevent injury that's one thing, but some old man telling me to do glutes because he thinks he saw a limp, well.. Go! Go! was rather polite of him.

Just noticed this tour video of 1/0 Sauna so thought i'd share, I didn't get time to check it out on my last trip but I would be interested to hear if anyone has been to find out if it gets busy and the types of guys there. There is also a I/0 Sauna in Taiwan, not sure if they're related?

The next night I walked back up Patpong and the touts happily proclaimed "you're back" pointing at Freshboys, so that solved the mystery of where I was last night. Still I don't know why i remember the bar differently, but who knows, maybe early onset dementia. Tonight I let them know I would come back, but I decided to check out Dream Boys. I arrived at about 10pm, probably 5-6 other customers. They had quite a big lineup that alternated on stage between the hunkier guys and the twunk/twinkier guys (not as many twinks), my estimate would be 30 guys total. It was my first time being in this location, I like the layout, the mamasan wasn't pushy and they had a large variety. Most guys on stage were shirtless, but not a lot were my type, the main guy I would have considered was wearing a button up shirt on stage (I think the only one that did) and I didn't want to call him down because of that. I stayed for a few rotations but decided to check bin and get to freshboys again to see tonights lineup. Back up the stairs and into the guiding hands of the male mamasan, seated in the same spot as last night. One thing that is a bit annoying about this seat is the pillar obstructing my view, but the bar was busy again so seating was limited. I like the male mamasan here, he noted my pick from last night and let me know he's not here tonight but gave me a list of numbers for guys I might like, not pushy, not asking for drinks, just helpful. He advised 35 guys left tonight, 7 were already off. During intermission for the show I called down another guy, he was a performer in the second half so he asked if it's ok to wait for him to finish the show, no problem. The problem during the second half is a waiter had set eyes on me as a mark and asked for a drink, ok one drink no problem, but every 5 minutes from then until my off got back to his seat this waiter was asking for drinks for someone else, mama (the other mamasan), his friend, him, he must have asked 6-7 times and all answered with no. That got quite annoying, so as soon as the guy I offed came back I checked bin. When I checked bin the mama sat there scrutinising my tab for a few minutes, it almost seemed like she was looking for something or thought I had removed a slip, really left a sour taste that night after the drinks harassment. On the way out, the waiter was back asking for a tip lol, no thanks. I walked a few steps and slipped the guy mamasan a tip, he was helpful, never asked for anything and easy to talk to. The guy I offed was 23 from Cambodia and his performance in the show gave me some hope for a good time ahead, in bed he wasn't bad but he couldn't handle it for long, he said he was new to the bar so maybe not as experienced. We had to finish up in 69, he was good at that so no complaints.

Ok back to the report. That night coming up the lift a Japanese (i think) guy has TWO perfect twinks with him, as they left the lift one of them looked back at me with a smile and I was so tempted to ask what bar i need to go to tomorrow, but I decided not to. The guy taking them up seemed a little nervous because he hesitated getting in the lift with another hotel guest, so I didn't want to cause him any embarrassment, i shot a smile back and left them be, hoping I would see them later. The morning was quiet, ST Laundry behind Silom complex 300 baht for a few KG of clothes wash and folded with next day pickup. I met up with a Thai friend that I met of Grindr year ago and used to hookup with but now we're more platonic friends, this turned into a few drinks before I ventured back to Patpong alone. This is the night that some may have seen from my earlier thread. I was walking into Patpong for the first time in about a year, guided by the barkers and ushered to a seat. At the time when i sat down I started to wonder which bar am I in, this isn't the layout in my memory of Freshboys (it was freshboys), but at this point i was seated and eyes glued to the stage so didn't give it another thought. On stage ~40 guys, I would class the majority as twunk and jocks (slim fit and toned) this night, I arrived 15 minutes before a show started and the small number of guys I would consider twinks added to my wonder if this was Freshboys. I called down #7, a 25 year old from Myanmar, we watched the first half of the show, discussed our evening activities and I offed him. The deciding factor for me calling him down was when he was on stage during the rotations he was playfully joking around with another guy on stage, he seemed to just be enjoying himself and had a very cute smile, a cute smile will get me every time. Back to the room and I definitely had a win with my decision, he was not mechanical at all, had a very gentle and kind personality. I can take a while to cum but he seemed to enjoy every moment of it, he wasn't a powerbottom but he did have a good level of energy and we wrangled around in a few different positions before my days of built up cum finally emptied and we collapsed into each other. We spooned for a good 20 minutes just chatting while he showed me some photos of his Songkran on his phone, then he showered and got his tip and said he was off to see his friends for dinner. He would have been a repeat for me, possibly even a LT, but we was not there by the time I got to Freshboys the following nights, so just the one great night with him.

This is where my trip went downhill, I woke up incredibly sick. At first i thought it was a hangover, I rarely drink so when I have a big night like I did at Winner then it does hit me hard, but it progressively got worse throughout the day. I ventured out briefly to restock water and get some food for my stomach, only to be met with water buckets thrown at me and soaking me with freezing cold water. Again, I've got to say this only happened outside of the complex, inside the guys actually asked me first and i said no in english then attempted some thai "mai ao, mai ao, pwy", the bar girls were the ones that splashed first and asked questions later. It did frustrate me a little, I'm all for enjoying the sport of it but after that I just had to retreat back to my room and rely on Grab deliveries. The Russian family were now on the receiving end of a chesty coughing sound through the walls every 30 seconds all day and night. I suspect i caught something on my flight and by the time the incubation period hit i was soaked with water for half a day and then drinking, so my immune system just gave up. This lasted the rest of the duration of my time in Pattaya, only on the day I was taking the bus up to Bangkok did i feel well enough to be outside again. --skip forward a few days-- Roong Reuang bus from Jomtien to BKK, can't beat the value of 150 baht. Then Grab from the airport to Le Meridien, finally starting to feel better and back in the comfortable surrounds of one of my favourite hotels with Songkran all over in Bangkok, while Pattaya seemed to just be ramping up. I stopped in at a pharmacy to get something to clear up the minor remaining cough and congestion, but I didn't feel sick anymore so off to explore. I did the Surawong, soi 6, silom rd then back through thaniya rd massage loop. plenty of guys on offer, but I wasn't quite up for extras yet so I got a vanilla massage at Urban Thai. I did notice the new 9-teen on the Surawong end of Soi6 but every time I walked past there were just one or two guys sitting on the tables opposite, I wasn't sure if there were more indoors? Along that route there must have been 100+ guys to pick from, it really was tempting with a few, but not yet, just scouting.

If i were looking to try something new in the gay scene my first thought would be to try an replicate the success of the straight bars of Pattaya Soi 6. Open front bar downstairs with grabbers in skimpy clothes/swim suites to bring them in, guys getting a few drinks, then 500 baht ST rooms upstairs to do the deed. But the reasons it might not work are vast, to name a few: Smaller customer population for gay venues, less foot traffic Older existing clientele in our bar areas. Soi 6 seems to draw more of the younger tourist crowd, the 2 week millionaires seem to be the real money makers for Soi 6. I might be wrong in this observation, but it's what I noticed when i walked through there a few times Gov zoning / locations available, I don't know how they get away with it but it seems the gay areas have less flexibility in offering any on-premise action Finding staff that will work in their speedos to be in the bar and out the front bringing in customers There is basically no marketing at all for any of the gay scene in Pattaya, it's off the radar for most gay guys my age that might be inclined to try it out.

-cont I did a bit of an evening stroll around the complex and down to Dongtan beach and back, the blue water barrels starting to form along the roads, the water gun sellers displaying their wares.. it's coming. I made my way back to agate and I put my head on the pillow, then suddenly the sounds I fear most.. screaming child and loud Russian family in the adjacent room. This is the second stay in a row with the same issue here, I don't blame the hotel (or anyone really), but I'm not going to bring a bunch of twinks through my room and pound away when there are literal children on the other side of the wall. If they can hear me as clearly as I can hear their every move then it's just not something I'm comfortable with. I don't think I'll stay at Agate again, next time I'll go back to Poseidon, The Venue or East Suites. Anyway, the next day after a run along the beach i perched at O'Delicies, this is my favourite coffee spot in the complex, the food is decent and coffee is ok. I like that they enclosed the balcony section of the cafe, it's much nicer to watch the Soda boys arrive in the comfort of aircon. After eating and a short rest I went back to Soda, I had round 2 with the same guy, the second time is always the best in my opinion, no wondering from either of us what we want and things move in a nice motion. By the time I was making my way out to get one of the plastic protective pouches for my phone it had already begun, buckets of water coming my way when I got out to Thrappraya Rd. Holding my phone and trying my best to dodge the bar girls I got the pouch and headed back to the safety of the complex. I've got to say the guys in the massage shops and generally the patrons in our little gay enclave were more respectful in taking 'not right now' 'no' 'please no powder'. Well I was soaked, shoes and all, I wasn't prepared for what time it starts, i headed headed back to Sophia's at sundown for dinner, this time for the pork, before making my way to Winner Boys in Sunee. It's been tough times in Sunee for a long time now, but chatting with the owner at Winner it sounds particularly hard at the moment. Building owner has decided to raise rents, high season wasn't quite as high. I did my part and rang the bell all night to give back to the bar that has given me some of my best nights in Pattaya, there's not many places left that have actual guys on stage in underwear with hands on activities possible. I hope things turn back around. Back to Agate drunk and clinging to the back of motosai for dear life, greeted once again with sounds of the Russian family next door.
