  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logorrhea_(psychology) Logorrhea (psychology) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the psychological term. For the linguistic and stylistic term, see Logorrhoea (rhetoric). In psychology, logorrhea or logorrhoea (from Ancient Greek λόγος logos "word" and ῥέω rheo "to flow") is a communication disorder that causes excessive wordiness and talkativeness, which can sometimes lead to incoherency. Logorrhea is sometimes classified as a mental illness and can result from a variety of psychiatric and neurological disorders[1] including aphasia,[2] localized cortical lesions in the thalamus,[3][4] mania,[citation needed] or most typically in catatonic schizophrenia.[citation needed] Examples of logorrhea might include talking or mumbling monotonously, either to others, or more likely to oneself. This may include the repetition of particular words or phrases, often incoherently. The causes of logorrhea remain poorly understood, but appear to be localized to frontal lobe structures known to be associated with language. As is the case, for example, in emotional lability in a wide variety of neurological conditions, other symptoms take priority in clinical management and research efforts. Other symptoms include excessive talking, words that avoid any logic or reason, words that may offend other people and random words which hearers may ascribe unintended meaning to.
  6. And you allowed that aforementioned POOP thread to run on and on and on!
  7. If that strikes you as shallow, you are perhaps in the wrong forum.
  8. Can you cite any documented evidence for these claims about general occurrence rates? I find them very exaggerated indeed. As someone who gets tested rigorously (monthly) whenever active.

Dinna werrie. That month of living homeless on the streets, that I have spoken of too many times here, relieved me of that spiritual drought. The innumerable acts of loving kindness I saw among those who had nothing, and gave all -- and found how, effortlessly, to take part in myself -- cured me. I now believe.
  10. But it all hangs ( ) on how we individually USE the images!

American Catholic Church practice is far in advance of doctrinal afflatus emanating from the Curia. Recall Francis is a Jesuit. Thus really, in spirit, a Protestant. I don't think that's too outre an assessment. Given his involvement with liberation theology and related strains. He, from his first day in the See, has been applying very small, but very many, taps and blows to the foundations of conventional Catholicism (that is to say, those set up in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, aimed mainly at securing and preserving its worldly and material dominance. Not the severely serious spiritualism of the early Church.) I doubt the fruits of his efforts will be much seen within his lifetime. But I will wager (as a Southern Baptist myself -- 'believing,' though not in a manner my fellow parishioners would recognize) that Francis will turn out, in the long view, to have saved the Church from itself.
  12. So @Badboy81 in effect returned us to the much reviled POOP thread? Only too apt!

  18. This is just a totally great story! (With btw a contemporary acceptance of the normalcy of the porn and sex-work industries that has seemed to take forever to work its way into the mainstream press. But here it is. The story depicts Stormy as an extremely successful, intelligent, self-confident, high-achieving businessperson. With no finger-wagging or any of that old disapproving stuff about the nature of her work.) One suspects Stormy is going to end up bringing DJT down a lot faster -- and farther -- than the lily-livered folk we have put into Congress. Of course then remains to come too all the dire consequences of Father Mueller's work. For Stormy, controversy blows up into a club scene bonanza ...On its Facebook page, the club advertised the shows as "we the people of the United States present Stormy Daniels, this P*ssy grabs back Mr. President world tour."... https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/11/politics/stormy-daniels-shows-boost/index.html

  20. I get that there is a pretty fair effort to suppress the vote of various parties. I just don't, in the current age, see it working all that well.
