Lurkerspeaks and I met on several occasions . I was one of many who helped him plan his first trip to Thailand. Others encouraged him to stay at the Raya. The fact that he died there, while sad, should not keep people from staying there. It does for me only because I knew him personally and would probably not be able to keep that off of my mind. Then again, I didn’t like the Raya. With Twilight closed, it is not as handy as it once was.

I checked from LAX and SFO and found airfares to Bangkok of $520 per person. This is not a basic fare, but a regular fare. The husband and I booked for December and paid $1038 total for both. United will give us a measly 2000 frequent flyer miles each for the travel. Our flights are on ANA, which I think is pretty good. We'll find out! This is roughly a half-price fare.

The Raya is not run by gay people. It caters to straight Japanese men. I was never very happy with the service there. They do allow boys to the room and check IDS. And since I stayed there, lurkerspeaks died there. I couldn't stay there again.

But what gets me the most from the article is how intertwined all of the Washington people are. Hunter had a job with the same bank that donated millions to his dad. He was on boards that he had no business being on. His relationships with Chinese businessmen stink to high hell. And his dad is running for president.
