Some guy who owned a restaurant in San Diego brought him over. The guy hit him, according to the Thai guy, and he had to go back to Thailand since he had no other US connections. There are no plans for a second season of The Last Post, much to the dismay of its fans, including me. I have to wait for season 2 of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as it is!

I have been debating about seeing this movie a second time. But now, my library has the novel ready for me to read. After I finish that, it might be fun to see how different the movie is from the book.

Gosh, Adam, just looking at your response above gives the fairy tale you tell about this site a shade. This site once spent lots of time trashing the other site, but we grew out of that. Why would anyone want to go back to those days?

You and I have been posting a long time, and we have seen people go back and forth on any number of issues. The Last Post is a 6 episode series on Amazon that had me totally intrigued this week. It's about a British Army base in Aden in 1965, when the Empire was crumbling. Like other streaming series, it has a bit of soap opera to it as we learn the stories of the various cast members. What first intrigued me was the very handsome Tom Glynn-Carney as Tony Armstrong as a Lance Corporal who falls in love with an Arab women. (They are both so pretty.) Lots of drama, but a story line that I found captivating. There's a lot of skin. And another cute guy. And, not the least, the trailer, so you can get an idea of the story. BTW, it also stars Ben Miles, who played Group Captain Townsend on The Crown.

Its entire City Council is gay...oops, LGBT...oops, LGBTQ!!! Personally I am not an acronym, I am gay. The popularity of the acronym, in my opinion, diminishes us.
