The regrets we usually have in the end is the things we didn't do, vs what we did....

Theatron is enormous... about 2 dozen rooms. It's definitely sensory overload. But that's what makes it so popular with the younger crowd.  I usually go once a trip.  But I do feel old the minute I walk in... I'm in my early 50s.

I also used that brothel a couple times.  Both times there were guys substituted without warning once I arrived. And the rates were higher once you were inside.  I didn't have a terrible time and the escalated rates weren't crazy. I spent a little over a week in Bogotá the week before Thanksgiving, my first time in the country. I did not visit any other cities on purpose because I wanted to get comfortable in Colombia first.
Food and drinks - Colombian food is uncomplicated, simple, and tasty. I loved the parrillada and ate Bandeja Paisa almost everyday. Although I am not a huge potatoes guy, the Papas Chorreadas, fried Papas Criollas, and Ajiaco were satisfying. Whenever I feel like having a snack, I'd get an empanada or two, or arepa con queso.
Colombian beers—Club Colombia, Poker, and Aguila in particular—are tasty and really cheap. I also visited Bogota Beer Company brewpubs for dinner a few times. Aguardiente is a clear licorice liquor that’s lovely to drink on its own, as is Chicha, a corn-based liquor (?). I don’t have a comment regarding coffee; I get my caffeine as an espresso so I don't get to savor coffee's flavors.
Tourism – La Candelaria is the old town and where most historical tours take place. Monserrate is beautiful but make sure that you visit when you have gotten acclimated to the altitude. If you can, visit around dusk and watch as the city below lights up. The Botero Museum (free), the Gold Museum ($5), and the Museum of Bogota (free) are can’t-miss spots. I didn’t visit the National Museum of Bogota ($10) although I’ve heard it’s also up there. I paid for two out-of-town trips, one to the Salt Cathedral (I thought it was just okay) and another to Guasca's hot springs (highly recommended especially if you're longing for a day of relaxation).
Getting Around – On day 1, I went to a Claro store and got a SIM card with 10 gigs of data, unlimited voice, and unlimited texts. I signed up for WhatsApp with the Colombian number that I got and used that to communicate with tour guides and escorts. I Ubered everywhere (average trip is $3.50).
Safety – I did not encounter any troubles while there, but there is a reason for all the warnings. Tour guides, nightly TV broadcasts, and Uber drivers who I got into a conversation with (in Spanish) would remind you early and often to always be on your guard, as petty crime and violent crime are daily occurrences in the city. Be mindful of your surroundings—take photos if you must, but stash it away as soon as you’re done.
Adult fun – I had no time to sift through Grindr messages. If I did, though, I would have at least gone for coffee with a few of them and take things further if the vibes were in alignment. Jesus, Colombian men are hot.
I went to Theatron on a Thursday night (no cover until 10:00 p.m.) and I was overwhelmed. I left after less than an hour. I had fun at Cumplices Spa—I got into a three-way with a Dutch and a Venezuelan. At 7:00 p.m. every night, there’s a stripper show hosted by the resident queen. I visited Casa de Boys (not its official name) early in my trip. Would not repeat. The men I was with were fantastic, but my interaction with the owner was not at all pleasant. I remember that process well underway 10, and 15, and 20 years ago - all young people were intent on leaving the island, usually through foreign partners. As one young guy told me more than 10 years ago, "doesn't matter if you are a boy or a girl, but if you are not totally ugly and by the age of 30 you still didn't leave Cuba, you must be really stupid."
And yes, in many cases that partnership with a foreign partner lasted pretty much until a Cuban in question got a passport (or even a permanent residence, but usually they waited for a passport), and then there's a divorce. That was always a cautionary tale for me of a Westerner who found his "eternal love for life" in Cuba, as this "eternal" often meant "until I get a passport" .

Took the train from Palermo back to Reggio Calabria. A short report on my last trip to Colombia.
The plan was to first go to Bogota and then, via Pereira and Manizales, to Medellin, finishing the trip with a few days in Cúcuta.

The wedding was fun, with a party in a finca in Puerto Colombia, near the beach.

You can't use Uber Moto Taxi, as it's illegal in Barranquilla for two men to ride a motorcycle.
 
Medellin
It was quite hot in the city of eternal spring, and I'm not just talking about the men, but also about the weather. As always, I had a wonderful time.

I think @Xclay provided most answers already. Plane is really easy - Azul and Latam both fly there, and I think GOL too. It's an hour from Fortaleza or from Belem by air.
Previously I stayed at Luzeiros hotel, however it's fairly removed from everything - this time I checked in to Praia Callao Hotel on Callao beach, it was adequate with sea views.
On that front though, beaches in Sao Luis are for strolling and sunbathing, but not really for swimming. They have been well-known for years for extreme contamination due to some industrial and/or sewage dumps nearby - I read an article from some years ago how they tested the sand (not even the water, just the beach sand) across all Sao Luis beaches, and found parasites and gelmints in 100% of the probes. Praia Callao hotel had a rooftop pool overlooking the beach and the ocean which was a nice alternative.
The main atrraction is the old town which is pretty and Portuguese and tile-adorned everywhere - fairly small though. Alcantara, an island of forgotten ruins (as well as of an abandoned cosmodrome) is a couple of hours by boat and a fascinating day trip. The most important trip is to Lencois Maranhenses near Barreirinhas, just over 4hrs by a fairly comfortable and punctual bus one-way - one of the most beautiful places on earth that I've seen anywhere.
The old town is full of music and drinks in the evenings - those who are familar with Lapa in RJ, that's sorta the same scene albeit on a much smaller scale. Reggae is everywhere, as are caipirinhas and meat skewers (chicken hearts skewers stole my non-chicken heart).
There's only one sauna, correct, but sauna-wise that's enough for Sao Luis. There is another new sauna on the same street two blocks away, but not sure if GPs are there and I did not visit.

Sorry you are so very unhappy. But it is wise of you to move and see if you are happier elsewhere -- especially since you are pretty young!
My only suggestion is -- just to be sure before making the leap! -- first try living six months (two back to back 90 day stays) as a resident in your top Brazilian locale. (Of course if you have already done something like this, nevermind.)

Yesterday, I took the ferry from Reggio Calabria to Messina, Sicily, right across the strait. It was a 30-minute, easy ride. If you have at least Platinum status, that hotel treats you very well, including upgrades to suites, its gym, its lounge access (where you can get a decent breakfast without paying extra).  The location is perfect, only one block from Avenida Paulista,  but, Lucky already knows these things.  I posted in case other readers might want to stay at that hotel.
Even if you do not have high status with Marriott's loyalty program, the hotel is very nice and in a great location, and it has a decent restaurant. 
It is likely that readers are going to visit Rodolfo's Lagoa, which is only a short Uber ride from the hotel.  I was once talked into walking there but I doubt I will do it again (about two miles).  There is a taxi stand across the street on the corner, but if you have Uber, you will get a better price and better service.  Uber meets you in front of the entrance to the hotel.  
An odd thing happened when I was booking that hotel again.  A month or two ago, I was making a reservation for Sao Paulo.  At that hotel, the daily rates were around $400.00 U.S., but last year, the daily rates were around $200.00.  I hesitated to book a room at twice the price and waited.  
Now, I see that the rates have come down to a little more than $200.00 daily.
During the day, MASP is within walking distance of the hotel.

The adventure in Reggio Calabria continues.
First, I want to say I really love it here. It’s a small city, newish by Italian standards (much of it was destroyed by an earthquake and tsunami in 1908), but old historically. I’ve been mostly eating at home, but the supermarkets and produce markets have been delightful, but what food I have eaten out has been amazing.
