  1. Well tonight is free room at 117. I will never go there on Tuesdays until 117's one gets shitty. Tomcal what do you mean with the "help" coming from other saunas?
  2. Hoping to help someone... Getting a Brazilian SIM card can be a pain in the ass, especially when reading discordant opinions and experiences in the internet and when you do not own a Brazilian CPF (tax code). Internet is very useful, especially in Brazil. Using your home country's number can be really expensive and sometimes data roaming is shitty. And sometimes some services do not work with non Brazilian numbers. So here's how to do: 1- Buy a Sim card ("chip"), you can do it like everywhere you can find a operator's logo. I bought one from Tim because it's good and for 15 reais per week u get 1.5GB of internet and 100 min of free phone calls to other operators (unlimited towards Tim). It will cost you around 10 reais. 2- Turn off your phone and install the new sim. 3A- Turn on your phone and wait 5 minutes, if the TIM's system works correctly you will arrive to an interface asking you to confirm your DDD (area code.. For Rio 21, for SP choose 11). After that you will get to know oe your phone number. Take note of it and call *144 after rebooting your device. 3B- If what I wrote on point 3A doesn't work (my case) your SIM will seem to be just a useless piece of plastic, unregistered on he network which cannot even call TIM support. DO NOT TRASH YOUR SIM. Keep your phone switched on with the SIM installed. In 45 minutes you should receive a SMS with your phone number. Then call *144. 3C- If points 3A or 3B didn't work what you have to do is wait. Every 30 min try to call *144. It will work. Do not worry about your phone number... You will discover it later. 4- Now that you have made it to call *144, follow the voice. At some point it will say "for English press X" (in my case was 3). 5- You will speak with an English-speaking operator which will register your Sim using your passport number and your address in Brazil (can be the hotel one). And you can ask him about your number, if you still don't know it... Again... You can still find your number later. 6- The operator will ask you to make an at least 6 seconds phone call (do not worry, your sim already has like 2 reais to make this call) to a number of tour choice to confirm the registration, after waiting 2 hours. I just did it immediately after the phone call and it worked. 7- Congratulations, you have a Brazilian number. All you have to do now is to buy a top up and if you still don't know your number... send a whatsapp message to yourself or to a friend to discover your number. You can buy top up everywhere... If you wanna do it in the internet site of TIM you will need a CPF. So you cannot do that directly with Tim. Just use Ding. It's safe and it does have a very small fee. 8- Download the TIM app, because it's useful and activate the plan of your choice using it. In my case was TIM pré smart 1,5GB Remember that your sim will expire after a period of time which depends on the size of the top up you have bought. If you let the top up expire, they will freeze your Sim for 2 months. If you don't buy a new top up within this limit, you will lose your number and you will have to start again from point 1.
  3. I agree... Same good Monday of all the weeks. Of course I am not sure if in MR they were having some guys from 117 which was closed. But I don't think so. I have been asking 2 garotos I know from 117 if they were going and they told me they were not. Can be a lie of course.
  4. I have the same feeling. But different. I think it will be packed with customers instead of garotos. Anyways I have heard the same thing. Many guys from Pointe are talking about it. While it might not hit 117, Pointe could suffer from this new sauna opening
  5. So the new sauna opens today. Not sure if I should pay it a visit. The only thing I am sure about is that tomorrow (Tuesday) it will have free suites. It is quite brave to choose Tuesday as a free suites day, since is also the best day at 117.
  6. Do you know guys at what time it opens on Monday?
  7. Saturday was even more packed than Friday. Actually at around 8pm it was nearly impossible to stand around the bar area. I loved Lagoa and the 2 enormous cocks from sexy guys I took
  8. Very true... Do not get involved with police in Brazil until it's strictly necessary.
  9. I have been with Mateus. Very "opening" experience.
  10. Happy to see that the final mistakes did not cause any damage. Great reports! Next time remember about your mistakes and enjoy an even better trip, without concerns.
  11. That's what I wanted to say...since we're inside a newbie's thread, i wanted to highlight the "be careful" thing. The fact that the sauna is close to SDU does not make the road outside it safe (which is what an unexperienced tourist would think)...so for all the new guys who've never been to NMM or in Centro at night...please call a Taxi/Uber while inside the sauna, and then leave. Do not venture outside. Do not even consider taking the metro. Cinelandia is more than 600 mt far. Actually I'm very happy to see a 3rd new sauna in Rio...I think it will make the guys selection even more specific (if this new one will attract NMM type of GP's). I regret it is opening on Friday...damn...i'm missing the opening day by 3 days. I will pay my first visit to SP's Lagoa this month...now i'm already curious about this new sauna in SP, since i'll probably be back there this June/July.
  12. It is close to the airport true and it is the building next to the italian consulate. But the only 2 times i've been on that road after 10PM, have been enough to show me to don't go to centro at night :D. Once the road Av. Mal. CĂ¢mara (just behind the new sauna) was closed because of a shooting occurred between police and criminals. The second time a worker at the italian consulate got nearly killed during an attempted (and failed) assault. I'm not saying that this cannot happen in Copacabana or Gloria....i'm saying that it's in the beginning of the wrong side or Rio. If i'm not wrong SDU closes at 11PM. I would and i will make sure to leave before that time, since that road already has little to no traffic at 10PM. It's not a very dangerous area, but it's neither a very safe area. I'd say quite dangerous when the airport is closing and the consulates in the near buildings are already empty from hours. Of course i don't pretend to make a prediction....mine is a guess, since i will anyway go to the new sauna one day. But for some reasons I'm thinking it will have the same boys of NMM; which I don't like. Hopefully I'll be wrong.
  13. LOL tomcal ;D... The problem is not the entrance fees or the free rooms... I never worry about that too, but since it is a new sauna, promotion days will surely attract much more boys than in normal days when it will be a hard to compete against the 2 main saunas in Rio. This one is big... But the increased distance from the Zona sul compared to 117 and the unsafe area will not attract a lot of guys and customers. I really don't like that neighborhood... Especially at night.
  14. So same schedule of NMM. I suspect that Mondays or Fridays will be good. Got any info about entrance fees, working hours and free rooms days?
  15. Smaller brain is easily triggered when dealing with Brazilian garotos . I can understand.
  16. Damn... I will arrive the on the 6th. Now I really don't know what to expect....if I should pay a visit there and on which day.
  17. I agree... What was expected to be the lowest day of the week in 117, often turned out to be a good one. I think the same will happen in SP's Lagoa.
  18. Stay in El Poblado in an Airbnb apartment. Follow tassojunior's suggestion and ask for referrals to the guys you will meet. Medellin is a lot more safer than RJ and SP in Brazil... Just don't cross the western side of the cathedral...(and do not go inside comunas... As you do not go inside favelas in Brazil)
  19. Haha... Good luck. I think that this is the most secret information in this forum. I have never seen a user posting suggestions of an Airbnb place (there's just one recent exception, from a user who suggested a couple of guys who has some good apartments in Copa and Ipa listed on Airbnb). Rsrsrs people don't want to run the risk of having their favorite apartments occupied during their planned stay in Brazil
  20. Hi Oz... Yeah the hotel's staff is a good proxy. Just curiosity...i know asking since this has never happened to me. If the police in Brazil asks your document, is a color copy of the passport enough? Am I risking something?
  21. As mvan1 said....do not use google translator for this kind of things (even if in this particular case it might work). Keep it for the simple and risk free interactions between garotos and the commercial side of the holiday (if in front. of a non english speaker). Google's translations from english to portuguese can be easy to misunderstand. Some weeks ago i've posted some examples of completely wrong (and also offensive) translations made by Google when facing portuguese. I don't wanna be the usual lowballer but keep in mind that even the bad guys can find your passport. While the idea is good, more precautions should be taken to keep it safe, since you do not want to expose yourself directly while in Brazil to a stranger who's "returning" your passport and also...do not disclose the address where you're staying. Some kind of proxy can be found (a GP for example).
  22. Well I do have different data which is probably influenced by the difference in the people we know. I shouldn't have used "never more than R$70" in the previous post, since it's kinda of extreme, but 70/80 it's pretty common for locals from what i've seen and been told. Just pay attention to the "payments" made inside the locker room, (or just ask more locals or a GP who you know and "trust" well). Over R$100 for locals is a LOT. At least in RJ. I'm not taking tips or drinks in account of course. Anyway there's no problem and that's just some useless information I've provided...you will never be able to pay R$70 as a gringo (and you should not) who visits saunas 5/6 days every 3/4 months.
  23. Yep. I don't have problems to reply, but at least make a quick search. I guess that the same thing I wrote here in this topic, has been reported in the last 3 months by at least 5 different users, including tomcal and Tartegogo.
  24. Going rate for locals is never above R$70. Gringo's going rate fluctuates between R$100 to R$200 depending on how much of the "small brain" is being used. So the standard rules is: Do not ask the price to the GP...instead make them an offer. Everybody will accept R$100 and promising them a R$20 tip if they're good, will secure the deal 99.997% of the times (keep in mind that what you pay is NOT proportional to what you get...if they accept a price they will still perform good if the GP is good, or bad if it is bad)...if they ask more say "no thanks". They will come back 20 seconds later telling you that it is fine. Remember that these guys are there for work, they do have their real friends, they're probably engaged to their boyfriend or are probably married to a woman and already have 1 or 2 childs at their age. So DO NOT believe to the "you buy me a pair of Nike shoes, I am your boyfriend" kind of bullshit, since (except for some exceptional cases) it doesn't work and has never worked since the beginning of the saunas existance and it never will. At the same time, for the same reasons...do not lowball.
