  1. I would say that a much clearer gay connection is that an actor named Robinson plays Simon in Love, Simon. On a more serious note apparently the mother that was reported missing (not the Jennifer Garner one) was dead by the end of the same year (2020), but with no bridging info indicating foul play or whatnot, just mentioned as predeceased in the father’s notice of sudden death at home at age 65 at the end of that year. Though of course also COVID’s inaugural year. Having done a clinical rotation in suicide intervention, I fear the worse for this young man. If a pertinent factor, family history may figure in their present anxiety.
  2. Getting Corrie St enough yet? And yes, same guy posting at about Day 4 of missing parent.
  3. The original location component of the story is now Finnish. Perhaps that makes it more relevant, or not.
  4. Good point. Oh the Queen's Gambit of it all. Would that the intended tripping up works out.
  5. Favours the classic Ye Old Mill state fair ride but capable of mastering the Slingshot challenge thingy, with Hope.
  6. As Walz doesn’t likely bring in more electoral votes, did she trade off Penn or Arizona votes that might now elude her? He does look rather old for his age but otherwise the antithesis of “weird”. He might come across as benignly paternal, benevolent coach to scattered student, if pit against Vance in debate; I believe Vance was essentially fatherless (?) Of note, the Waltons (sp) have a challenge/success narrative reproducing with Mayo Clinic IVF intervention yielding two children now 17 (18?) and 23. Cancels out ‘shirker’ criticism re: bio offspring? Merges nicely with self-determination medical assist concept. Otherwise, normal as all get out and I believe moderate Christians. It is what they aren’t that may have been a key factor. (Trudeau was a teacher before PM, but not not nepo-ish.) Wife Gwen, also a teacher, can likely do the following Minn twin-city move without looking like an ass. She perhaps also somewhat subs well for Jill B exiting the scene by default.
  7. Agree wholeheartedly. Netflix’ Never Have I Ever a prime example. Paxton at age 16-18 played by an actor aged 30-32 over the recent seasons. And Julien (f) on Gossip Girl pushing 30.
  8. Is it that one retired and a sea of smoke is the next best option for chasing the dragon?
  9. Final last night. Cliffhanger again. I like this series although cannot keep track of all the relatively minor characters and keep going to wiki as new dragons’ names pop up. Convincingly changing a few key characters’ agendas and my sympathies has been a particular skill. I think I can still unspoil the plot by predicting that the first wild dragon rider claim deviates from the books, though I haven’t read any, because it would mean the showrunners confusingly adding yet again a new character. Premiere too late to the party for this year’s Emmy consideration.
  10. Now we wait for a second illustration of posting cherry-picked examples to support a ridiculous and offensive stereotype. Opa, there it was already. Does anything get filtered? A clear bias unless prepared to match denominator neglect with the false assertion that Japanese male tourists in general are naïve. And two stories irrelevant to the majority of a broad membership’s interest. More than 2 such examples needed for a stereotype of blistering capacity to read the room … will 74 do?
  11. Actually, Bogotá’s small Laureles district is but a few kilometres west from Venecia, a vibrant commercial and residential area into its own, where Spa Sexto Sentido is located. I believe I wrote about it.
  12. So was The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, which reminds me to catch up with later additions to the book series.
  13. There there, dear. You’ll find the way. RPReplay_Final1722818930.mov
  14. I have a few comments. I also caught Bailey as I watched both CBC and NBC. Lyles won with PB incidentally and accelerated the best, so that itself anchors it, while Thompson a tad under his recent PB. Thompson’s first major international race, I believe. Lyles was clocked at 9.784 and I guess anything over 9.78 is rounded up although in other contexts it might be rounded down to 9.78, while Thompson’s was 9.788 or 7.789 and legitimately 9.79 rounding up. NBC wouid not show the formal equal 9.79 clocking within the total group’s times to the hundredth, while other broadcasters did. Maybe I missed it. That said, Thompson showed great poise getting the result and made the right choice to give Lyles his space, instead going to help up his countryman that had cramped up crossing the line … Actually aerial view suggests that Lyles veered much of his body off his lane in such a way that he would have struck the 2nd Jamaican towards the end if they had been shoulder to shoulder. Thompson made the wise decision to defer the congratulations I expect he would have liked to interject sooner while Lyles stayed on image, going overboard with his usual histrionics. It would have been a tie for gold at a certain point in the past but Thompson indicated the result was fair to him. Some of the bigger nations sure can trigger my schadenfreude fantasies.
  15. Loving women’s sprinting phenom Alfred from St Lucia, smoking the field for win in 100m final and now in medal contention for 200m. Putting my money on Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson set for 100m men’s semi and final today.
  16. And well Baño Turco Saint Moritz in Chapinero doubles as a non-pay bathhouse although the regular non-trade hook-up cabins leave a lot to be desired. But if you’re at ease with sleaze …
  17. Glad to see in Yulo’s last pic upthread he didn’t shatter anything other than breaking through a ceiling for his nation.

Just ask Rodolfo for clearance to do a little stage performance piece.
  19. What a dumb way to put the story. What does being trans have to do with it? The alleged victims weren’t specified as cis. In this day and age there are very few contexts where the distinction is relevant. In fact, very few stories relevant to context.
  20. Yeah, this group should be shut down. There’s always a place for it, whether too young to know why or old enough to know better. 😏
  21. Barcelona plans to ban short-term rentals (less than 31 days) by November 2028, the already referenced tourism over-saturation and affordable housing access for locals the expected rationale. Look up other cities, including Valencia’s apparent following suit, if you wish. The rulings seem to be municipal. Also Lisbon rumblings. However, the short-term Barcelona tourism inventory represents only about 1.2% of all housing, obviously excluding hotels. Incidentally, the plan also intends to limit new hotel developments. I doubt that current hosts are going to be keen to sell or rent at appealing rates after having been thwarted. This won’t solve any local housing crisis. Perhaps hotel rates will soar as they absorb the demand for 10,000 lost tourism home units added to the current hotel inventory of 40,000 rooms, assuming tourism does not abate. The biggest tourist subgroup losers will likely be families priced out of the market. Of course, 4 years is a lot of time to see how it all plays out. I probably won’t care too much if I can rent an apartment just outside the boundaries and commute in, as I don’t need action every single day and I have had the opportunity to see all the city sights I ever wanted. — In other breaking news, I am delighted to learn that a TimeOut Market (higher end food court, if you are not familiar with the playbook) opened in Port Vell with apparently a great view on top of the shopping centre there. This will offer more flexibility for time of day to dine without the necessity of planning, reservations, etc; I don’t like to eat late and jet lag always throws off my appetite cycle. First come/serve communal tables. I would likely pursue a meal before or after the late afternoon time block dipping into the talent at our DIP46. That said, I may be the one with a plastic water gun if the TimeOut is overrun with tourists. With a full kitchen in my lodgings a few Metro stops away, naturally takeout is also an option.

    That’s it?
  23. Rubbing out the rubbing outs rubs me as double negative, rub’n’tugs as per usual.
  24. Last night’s final summer series 30-min display to Coldplay soundtrack. I thought at first these freeze-framed images reflected projections from the ground but they were random combinations of energy and smoke. Suck it, Olympiques!
