I might be considered local after 20years but I wasn't on day one or on earlier short holidays. I still managed hookups by doing some research and chatting with guys on sites like gay.com or gaydar in those days.

There are plenty of guys looking for hookups in KL. Sure there has been some difficulties with locals using apps but they soon know a way around it.
Have stayed in KL for 20 years and had no problems meeting guys. Of course there is much less of a bar scene but massage centres are common place.
Some areas are "home" to "massage" guys from Indonesia who visit to ply their trade.
The raid on Otot scared a lot of people off saunas but some still exist although not very classy. Upkeep is not great which is not surprising given you could be closed down tomorrow.
Many Malaysians use the Blowingwind forum for info and hookups.
Of course it's not Thailand but a good time can be had.

For me, “fraction” really isn’t an exaggeration. Pattaya is easily around 50% cheaper for the things that make up a large part of my Thailand spending: off fees, boy drinks, ST fees and hotels.
My ATM withdrawals are all the proof I need I simply spend dramatically less money in Pattaya than I do in Bangkok.
Food may be the one category where the difference isn't nearly as dramatic, I'll give you that. And yes, Pattaya doesn't have Foodland.  But as much as you guys LOVE Foodland, it's fine for what it is: convenient location, 24 hours, basic food and generally pretty small portions. I don't quite understand the near-religious devotion to it?
Although, to be fair, @vinapu was the original Foodland influencer around here long before “influencer” was even a thing. 
Massage is  one area where I'll give Bangkok the clear advantage. The selection and options are much better. But when it comes to the boys themselves, some of the Bangkok prices are simply out of whack with what you're actually getting for the money, plus the mamasans are so much more in your face, BKK the phrase "tip for me" or some variation  is without a doubt used 759%  more
And there's another big difference for me. If you end up with a dud in Pattaya, it's a relatively painless hit. In Bangkok, that same disappointing experience can cost you twice as much, sometimes more. Pattaya is EASILY half the cost for me in that department, and often considerably less.
So when I say Pattaya costs me a fraction of Bangkok, I'm talking about what  comes out of my wallet on a trip, not claiming that every plate of food, bottle of water or hotel room in Pattaya is literally half the Bangkok price, but in the end, yes it is.

I'm planning a trip to Bangkok in Dec and I'm interested in finding some spas that offer full service. Specifically, I'm interested in Brother Massage. Do they offer "full service" or just HJ and/or body2body service? 
Aside from the usual spots in Saphan Khwai (K Man, 15M, Phoenix, etc.) and Silom (Senso, Prince, Arena, etc.), are there any spas around that offer full service. Looking specifically for ones located near the metro/BTS. I don't mind a 10-20 min walk from the metro though. Just trying to avoid a lengthy taxi ride to the outskirts of the city.
I've been reading a bit about some new(?) places like History of Massage, Prestige, Wabi-Sabi (not so new?), TCS Spa (maybe too far?), 365 the River, among others. So many choices! I love it!!!
I might try Ganymede, Fafa or Jey Spa. Last time I went to Jey Spa, the T/B was definitely more B than I was looking for that day though. 
So, any help with Brother, History, Prestige, or suggestions for other spas will be appreciated. I have 3-4 days to play with on this trip and I want to make the most out of them! 

Heaven sauna is one you should try.  You won't feel out of place there and will most likely find what you are both seeking.

I am not sure I understand any of this. What are the signs you are hoping for? Some people are shy and will not look at you no matter what. Others play the horny, in love, or what ever act they put on and the service can still be bad. Hit or miss...but one thing I would never do is blame myself. 
@vinapu we don't have to be cheap to expect to get what we pay for. If I am not happy with the service I am not paying double for the experience. All it does is reward bad behavior. and the next lucky guy will be treated the same. 

I spend a couple of months a year in Hua Hin, it’s my favourite long stay destination. The gay scene is tiny but the apps are active. Because it’s a large Thai town not dependent on foreign tourists, it’s much more authentic than places like Pattaya, Patong or Chaweng. It doesn’t get a lot of Russian or Chinese tourists. Local food options are endless, it has a great night market plus two more weekend evening food markets, a day market, a superb long beach for walking, malls for shopping and great hotels. It’s spread out over quite a long distance on the Phetkasem highway, so picking the right spot to stay is key.

Kuala Lumpur  - at least 7 saunas of varying quality spread all around greater KL.
Malacca - rumoured to be a new sauna
