Rent Boy

I was looking at this yesterday, It's still possible to enter for 60 days by buying a 60 day visa online before you travel. 40 dollars.
A 90 day visa for Vietnam is only 25 dollars.
Thailand seem to be shooting themselves in the foot.
Then people on the socials harp on about most people don't need 60 days.  
I like to have 60 days, I'm retired, I'm not a criminal, I behave myself, always. 
90 days in Vietnam is over in two days time, it's been fabulous, I will almost certainly be back here in December and January and cancel my 2 month booking in chiang mai. 
If as often mentioned they are doing this to stop the bad behaviour and criminal activity, they are going about it the wrong way imo.
It's not like criminal and bad behaviour starts on day 31 of your 60 day visa..... 

I'm very fit for my age. Walking 15 or more kilometres a day and climbing stairs are not a problem for me when I travel.
At home I go for a walk around a lake near the city most days. If it rains I walk around shopping centres.
I have a gym downstairs at home, but I don't use it much. I installed it because both my 'friends' who , err.... look after me ...are into fitness, which is a bonus for me. Every now and then I do a bit of weight training when they come to visit, but nothing to strenuous. That effort comes later.
Sex is my main source of exercise. 🤣🤣

Day 11
At 10 am D decided to go home to refresh and promised to be back at 11. 50 with car, like he expressed “  he has access to”. I in meantime packed up as upon return I will be switching to Sun and Moon hotel  , right beside Space Hair Bar. Indeed  on the dot D arrived , I took my luggage and we went to Space bar to pick up our companions who were ready . D told me he contacted them already earlier about timing
Nice 1 hr drive and there , being 1 p.m. boys  decided to have a lunch. Boys decided , farang paid as directed for various super exotic goodies on the local market, ants in some sirup, bees larvae in honey comb , you name it . There was even something palatable for me , we found some place to spread out with all those goodies , lady brought some drinks  and it was quite fun to see what they eat and how. It needs to be said  that  even if there was 4 of them they did not forgot about me and tried to keep me in the loop of their conversation so I did not feel left out. 
  After the feast off we went to do some sightseeing. Sights are several stupas on small mountain range. Of course they expressed concern if I will be able to scale such a mountain  . I  just played stupid and let them have  it and soon they learned that old troll walks up quite well. On top it was them who suggested  we take a rest , not me , lol.  Not as monumental like Angkor but nevertheless quite interesting monuments in nice , mountain setting.  Views of countryside  were vast and panoramic all the way to distant but still visible capital.
Timing was perfect as when we  done and ready to go, light rain started. On the way back I tipped all three boys  for bearing with me.  Judging by reaction they did not expect it so we both were pleased.
We left guys at Space Bar and  D suggested we visit Aeon Mall because he wants to show me something. I know what it will be as he mentioned it  when we were parting ways in January but I played stupid which was not particularly difficult. 
Something was of course MY Burberry perfume. He even modestly suggested that he has 10 % discount in that store so if I will be kind to buy those for him I can save  that sum. Ever rude I remarked that if I don’t buy I will save whole 100 % , not just 10 % but at the same breath I said ‘Ok , which one you want ? “  as there were 3 , each bit different. Squeak of happiness was what followed and  soon he was proud bearer of  such useless thing. But what do I know. He deserved it as it needs to be admitted he is trying hard to make sure I’m happy.
Then we went to some pizza place and there he got a phone call , face changed and I knew something is not right. It was cousin or sister calling that mother , who is in hospital , is not feeling well and if he wants to see her still alive he better  rushes up ASAP, the latest tomorrow morning .
 We came to Sun and Moon and  checked in  but  in the room  it was obvious neither of us is in the mood  for anything steamy so he got his tip for  our time together and I let him go.
I was surprised  by room at hotel because based on picture I suspected it will be small while in reality it was room of
size !   Thank you Enchanted Elixir for recommending me that hotel.
At 10pm I went down to Space bar . In contrast with yesterday it was quite busy and almost full.
There was some local who seemed fun  but I was warned by one of guys to be careful as apparently as he gets more drunk he tends to lose control  and soon indeed he slammed  his fist against the table , fortunately guys he was with hauled him to  tuk-tuk outside , disarming situation.  Reminds us that both working in bar and patronizing it is  not always such appealing option .
 I left at 2.30 , not that I had long way to the room. At 3 I was expecting Grindr guest who indeed showed on time , even calling me  15 minutes earlier that he is on the way.

I agree that the guys at Hot Male are very off-able. My theory for the continual lack of customers is its name.
Instead of Hot Male, it should change its name to Hot Boy!
All the other successful bars have the word Boy in them - Freshboy, Dreamboy and Good Boy (formerly Screw Boy).

The 7 days Cafe was not open 7 days.   
The first time I went in there, they had sofas which looked quite comfortable and chairs by tables, which were not.  Unfortunately, the probable owner was occupying the good seats, rather than leaving them for customers.

I had the impression that it might be a good place for a cheap breakfast, rather than a nice coffee.    

 

Funds can be sent to Laos through either Wise.com or Remitly.com, not difficult.  From the US, Remitly offers either transfer to a Lao bank account, or cash pickup.  Wise does not offer cash pickup in Laos, only to a bank account.  This may vary, depending on the country you are sending funds from. 

This certainly appears to live up to the name !     Even Narak tii sut.

I wonder if they have the same pricing model as other nearby establishments ?   ie 150 baht for a cat drink (treat) ?

 

In that case, I recommend spending a long visa run from Thailand in Cambodia. You might find a way to spend your time Thailand and Cambodia that works both for 60 days VE in Thailand or 30 days.

I just had a Thai guy WhatsApp me that  I have known for 20 years in Pattaya ask for $$ for his new refrigerator 🥶
I reminded him I sent $100 - (2200 baht) last month for the same reason, maybe he forgot ?😂
Or maybe he sends out mass WhatsApp messages to farangs with the same message ?
One has to draw the line , because if I send another $100 he will ask again next month , probably for the same reason 🙄
Needing a new fridge , then according to him , apparently the delivery guys charge another 500 baht to deliver it ( the fridge) up 5 flights of stairs!! 😲
 
 

You sound like a great guy with a good heart but based on what my regular guy told me about his father’s passing last year, I personally would not send for these reasons:
If he were truly in need he would have taken you up on the offer when you asked, or reached out again once the offer sunk in 
Since he is not respnsive to your offer, asking him again might make him feel pressured to accept out of courtesy. Then you would have to coordinate logistics of getting bank details or him to do cash pick up from Western Union or similar. You do not know if it’s possible to send money to Laos bank account or (if he is from a rural family) if he is anywhere in proximity to a cash pick up point. Your goodwill may instead become a hassle to him especially if you only plan to send a small amount. If you send to his Thai bank account (assuming he has one) I’m sure it would be gratefully received but may not have much impact as his mind is focused on his family and being with them in Laos. Of course if you plan to send a significant amount of money to make the hassle worthwhile, please ignore me but would advise against since you have only met him 3 times. 
When my guy’s father passed unexpectedly his life was completely upended. He felt a tremendous amount of guilt for not being by his deathbed, worry for his widowed mother and mental stress from suddenly becoming the only man in a rural farming household…and he was just a bar boy who had been away from the farm for years. I don’t know your boy’s situation but grief and worry can be complicated. 
My advice is to send him a message saying you’re thinking of him, would like to see him again, and to let you know when he’s back at work. This way he can feel reassured knowing he can make up loss in earnings when he’s ready to return, and his customers haven’t moved on. 
But this is just my two cents and no matter what you choose (even if you’ve already sent money) as vinapu says, a kind heart and good karma will find its way. No wrong choices here.

There are some other updates that are not yet reflected on the map:
1.) The Gus Bar (formerly the Club Lounge) has now been renamed = GREAT BAR
The Gus Bar was previously associated with the nearby Sunee Intimate Bar. 
I tried to ask the guys what happened, but as is customary with the Thais my question was avoided and the topic changed.
Gus Bar was one of the 2 known pillow bars in the complex. 
I visited the GREAT BAR the other night and I can confirm that the pillow activities are still happening - but it has less pillows (used for discretion) than the other pillow bar =  M Bar has on offer.
  
I could not find a new Facebook page for the Great Bar and the Gus Bar Facebook was still active, but the last update was last month.
2.) My Favorite Diner looks like it is about to open - soft opening activities seem to be already happening.  Previously, it was reported here in our forum that the external bar that is attached to this entity (on the patio) had the name = "Bar in a Box".  Perhaps that was a temporary name until the construction work on the My Favorite Diner could be completed?  As the "Bar in a Box" was opened around the Songkran festivities period.

3.) The Sutiyada massage shop (next to the Agate hotel - when walking towards Soda Massage) has now been taken over by Khun Best, from The Best Bar. 
The name of this new massage shop is = The Best Massage.

Schatzi's - still no new updates since the previous posting in this forum - however, I did see a "work in progress" web page being designed and tested for this establishment, which, if this web page is valid - it will be a restaurant, bar and also "hotel" - as there were some rooms listed in the draft web page that I was able to see from a random Google search.

Indian Thali (Anny Company) restaurant.  I could not find any related social media information for this new establishment - situated between the new Schatzi's and Boy GaGa bar.

On a personal note, I'd sure like to be able to safely visit Iran one of these days. Hopefully it won't remain a theocracy until the day I die.

If my sole requirement were the gay sex scene, I would spend 100% of the time in Pattaya and 0% in Bangkok.
However, Bangkok has some interesting day time activities.   So for that reason, I spend up to 3% of my trip in Bangkok.
