I’m in Bangkok for a short visit on the end of a larger holiday. Early this evening (07 Oct) I was deciding on whether to get a massage, do some shopping or have dinner when it started raining. I’m in Bangkok for a short visit on the end of a larger holiday. Early this evening (07 Oct) I was deciding on whether to get a massage, do some shopping or have dinner when it started raining. I was kinda stuck and found myself outside of the new Wellmax venue, so I figured I might as well check it out.

Opened in August it promises to be a new concept in Saunas. If you’ve heard of it you would probably also be aware it has an age limit of 55. I am a touch under that but was not asked to verify.

Pay on arrival and you’re given an electronic bracket that opens your locker. Everything is on the one floor, with the usual layout of wet area, maze, private rooms and rest areas.

What is does differently is they what I’d call an instagram aesthetic - themed areas that people would love to get the perfect pic at - if cameras were allowed:)

What you can do instead of update your reels is fuck a lad in an actual tuk tuk. Or see how many people can have sex in a Maui Thai ring, or even on the BTS.

The crowd is 70% Chinese/Taiwanese, 25% local and 5% other. 90% are 20-35 and gym fit, think muscle boys, twinks, some chubby lads, and then me:)

I definitely stood out and most of the crowd weren’t interested, but it only takes one or two to show interest, then other seem to think it’s ok to play with you. Ended up spending most of my time with a muscular Thai guy with an amazing body and beautiful ass. I didn’t get to try the tuk tuk but did get to fuck in a Muai thai ring, so I can tick that off the list.

A great innovation for Bangkok is line dispensers in rooms! Genius!

And two things I have not seen anywhere: the private rooms, I only counted 5 or so, have glass doors with internal blinds, so the occupants can adjust to their level of privacy required. Great for a voyeur:)

The other is a game where you upload a selfie to o their page and people vote of the most popular. It didn’t seem to really get anyone’s attention.

Water, juice, ice cream and noodles are available in the relaxation area.

Would I recommend it? If you are under the age limit you could give it a go, or boycott as a protest. There are so many other venues in Bangkok competing for the gay dollar. The crowd are absolutely stunning, no question of that. Not sure if I’ll be back, but I did have a great time, though I was quite prepared to leave without getting lucky.

If so, maybe a new thread about them is in order. I'm an avid reader here; don't remember reports about such.....eccentricities.
PS - I'm 69, would gladly visit there, but don't hold their policy against them. The young deserve to see their likes, and not to see the likes of me. Since 90% r 25-25, maybe they should actually lower the top limit...

I'm glad to see some has gone into Super A recently. I always wonder about it and Nature Boy when I pass them during the day. I'll be sure to check out Super A when I'm in town next month. Not sure if  y curiosity will extend to Nature Boy though

After spending more than two decades living in Thailand, there is one uncomfortable truth about Bangkok that every newcomer eventually has to confront: this city is built on impermanence.
  Most expats arrive with wide eyes, swept up by the energy, the nightlife, and the intoxicating freedom of a place that feels like an endless holiday. But vacationing in Bangkok and trying to build a permanent life here are two entirely different universes. Within six months to three years, the vast majority of them pack their bags and vanish. It is not the cheap, easy retirement haven many imagine, and the reality of daily life quickly wears down the romantic illusion.
  The hardest part of staying long-term is the quiet, exhausting cycle of building connections. You invest time, vulnerability, and genuine energy into forging meaningful friendships, only to watch those people board a flight home a year later. You find yourself trapped on an emotional treadmill, constantly having to replace people just to fill the sudden voids in your social circle. Making friends with local Thais offers warmth and genuine hospitality, but the cultural boundary remains—no matter how many years pass, you will always be the expat, the outsider passing through.
  Eventually, you stop building deep roots with people who are already standing with one foot out the door. You realize that expecting long-term, everyday community in a city this transient is setting yourself up for heartbreak.
  Bangkok does not mourn departures. It has seen millions arrive with grand plans and leave quietly in the night. The moment your seat at the bar goes cold or your condo lease expires, someone new steps right into the gap the very next day. You aren't remembered, and you aren't missed—not out of malice, but because the city and its locals are simply used to the rhythm of the revolving door.
  It is an unforgettable place to live, but it will never be the home you left behind. Bangkok takes everything you give it, moves at its own relentless pace, and never looks back.

I don’t wanna say I’m already a legend or anything here in Bangkok, but they’re naming places after me. Breakfast this morning was a bacon and cheese sandwich that was phenomenal with dessert in the form of a s’mores cookie at Fat.P “the fat kids eatery.”

why not. Instead of trying to recall stuff. Let’s come to you live from the ‘Kok. Currently 1 of 3 customers sitting at Banana. I was drawn in when I saw 2 cute twinks wearing Banana shirts on the street. 5 guys currently stoneface on stage. None are those twinks. They’re bus boys I guess. Dang. Oh well I’ll hang for a bit.  No twinks on stage all gym goers. None my type. But night is young. They are not.
I like the banana layout. But yeah a little too old and muscly for me. I’ll give it til 1030 to improve. 

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it open at night. I’ve walked by but during the daylight looks pretty quiet and empty.  But I don’t think it’s closed.  Someone asked about this bar in another thread.  Going to try to check it out tonight.
