I don’t know where that place may be, but I know that it won’t be in: Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania. Maybe Prague/Budapest/Ljubljana?

To emphasise what has already been mentioned here a few times - when engaging in any activity, be sure to agree the price in advance (taxi, bars, restaurants). Istanbul is nice otherwise, albeit too busy for me. I did bot have a problem with stray dogs - what I remember rather were the stray cats.

Petra is very nice but the highlight of my trip to Jordan was Wadi Rum. Amman was a bit disappointing.

Living in the UK - sometimes flights to beach destinations from here can get really bad, with loads of drunk men being lound and annoying.

My advice would be to try cruising in a gay (or gay friendly) bar to learn how to read cues, etc. Otherwise you may get into trouble.
